Pictures of my dad and more

Jack

I found some baby pictures of my dad to post, since several people think Jack looks like him as a baby. I also got my mom to send me pics of Elizabeth as a baby, because every time Jack smiles, I see her baby pictures. I also put the two pictures of Josh as a baby that I have. What do y'all think?

A Fun Weekend!

We ventured out a little bit this weekend and had a lot of fun! Friday night, Sesame Street Live came to town, so Josh, James, Elizabeth, Bryon, Mary Beth, and I all went to see it! My parents watched Jack, Thomas, and Matthew. Mary Beth and James had an absolute ball together and died laughing at everything. One would start laughing and the other would quickly join in, they'd look at each other, and then die laughing some more. The adults definitely burned some calories laughing at them that night!

Saturday. we took our first mini-road trip as a family of 4 to see Michael and Jilinda in Dallas. It felt SO great to get out of town, since we've been cooped up so much. We always have a good time up there, and the boys did great! The trip up and back couldn't have been better. No tears except for the last minute or so of the drive both ways!

Jack meets the Merrills!

We had a wonderful visit from the Merrills yesterday! They came to Texas to see their daughter and son-in-law and drove down to see us for the day! It was so nice to get to be with family and just sit and talk all day.

Here are some pictures from our day together...

Jenn holding Jack (will Jack have a crush on her one day, too, like his brother?)
Aunt Ally and Jack having a conversation

James loving all of the cousin attention

Thank you guys again from coming to see us!  It was such a treat!

Jack meets Gigi!

Gigi, Deedah, and Nana came over after church today so that Gigi could finally meet Jack! Gigi thinks that Jack reminds her of Dad as a baby. I will have to find a picture to post of him as a baby!

Nursery pics!

I think the letters look awesome up there! I love seeing his name on the wall and making this nursery his own!
My mom makes a blanket for each grandchild, and Jack's is laying on the rocking chair. It has some Christmas patterns in it since he was a Christmas baby! It is such a beautiful blanket and means so much to me (as it will to all of the grandchildren when they're older).

2 month post!

I'm finally getting around to this!

Here's a little about Jack at 2 months.

*He's getting so chunky! 13 lbs, 24.5 in (62nd% for weight, 70th% for height) . HUGE jump from 10/10 at his 2 week!

*He's very interactive. He's getting so much more smiley and coos a lot. He's even starting to give us mini-laughs! I'm so in love with his smiles and coos. He has flirty eyes and really moves his lips when he coos. He coos most right after bath and diaper changes, when he's laying on the bed. He's getting to where he's cooing all throughout the day now, though. He always gives the fan and corner of our living room big smiles.

*He is standing a lot more in our lap.

*He's still not a good sleeper. He's doing a little better with sleeping in his crib or bassinett for naps, but his typical pattern at night is...sleep 4 hours, eat, sleep 2-3 hours, eat, fuss/sleep/squirm the rest of the morning (4-7).

*He takes about 30-40 minutes to eat. First 5-10 minutes, he eats vigorously (swallowing a ton of air and getting frustrated), then dawdles the rest of the feeding.

*Because of the air swallowing, he's VERY gassy! My doctor just gave us some good tips, though, to help with that, and we're trying them out.

*Almost every day, we have ipod and dancing time. It's a good chance for me to hold and sing to Jack without James getting jealous, because James loves to dance solo along beside us. This is probably my favorite time of day right now, because Jack just snuggles right into me and looks so happy. I get to just take him in.

*If Jack starts crying, the millisecond that I start to pick him up, get him out of his carseat, etc, he will stop crying, as if I had a mute button on him. It's so funny! This week, he was sitting next to me in his carseat as I worked on the computer. He started fussing, so I tried to keep putting his paci back in and rocking his carseat with my foot. When that no longer worked, I finally just turned and reached for him. He gave me the biggest smile he'd ever given in his life. It was open mouth with a scrunched up nose. It was the sweetest, cutest moment with him to date! I just love making him happy! He's such a joy!

*He's got the most silky, soft skin!

*He is happy laying on his back if one of us is in eyesight, but if no one is there, he won't last a minute.

A new blog!

I started a new blog and wanted to let you know about it. I got this idea from my friend, Kimberly P., who did this last year. I am going to try to post a picture (or more) every day all throughout 2009. I'm averaging a post about every other day so far, but it's really fun and I'm very excited about it! (Thanks for the idea, Kimberly!) At the end of the year, Im going to get a blog book printed, so I can remember and see pictures of (almost) every day of this year! I recommend starting one now if you're interested in having a digital scrapbook for the year. It's really fast and easy to get caught up. The link is on the right, under my links, called "Our Year in Pictures"
