Loving the Exersaucer

Jack sticks out his tongue to the side a lot right now.
Sweet profile
"Now listen here, Star. I can look at the other toys on the exersaucer, too. Not just you all the time!"
I love these cheeks from all angles!

Such a Treat!

We were so thrilled yesterday to get to see our dear friends from college, Kim and Adam, who came to stay the night on their way down to San Antonio! It was such a treat to have them here for a night, get to meet their new baby James, and see Adalie again! We had such a great time with them and really enjoyed watching the kids interact. It seems like just yesterday we were all in college, and now we have 4 kids between us!! It's crazy how time flies! We love you guys and were so glad to get to see you!
our sweet babies (possible future college roomates), just 4 weeks apart!
they kept trying to hold hands
Our 4 kiddos. When they arrived, I told my James, "That's baby James", and James said, "That was me!". I thought that was hilarious, because I have shown James lots of baby pictures of himself and said, "That was you when you were a baby.", so apparently, he thought that was himself as a baby...in person!

My little cowboy!

Today is James' first day back to school! It is Cowboy day, so with a little bribing, I had a photo shoot with my little cowboy.

Cute conversation with James

James (handing me a flower) : "Look at the flower the wind gaved you!"

Me: "I think the sun and the rain gave us that."

James: "Oh! That was nice that the sun and rain gaved that!!"

What next?

James keeps things very interesting in our house. James decided to dump green sprinkles onto his train table.

Then....
James told me he needed to burp and feed B-bear.

A Trip to the Zoo...

Jack and Charlie
James at the top of the Otter Slide
Noah at the top of the Otter Slide (they were way too busy to pose together)
Sweet baby Charlie
taking a break from all of their running around

I went to the zoo recently with my friend, Amy, and our 4 boys. As I was getting ready, I couldn't believe the amount of things I had to pack/do just to get out the door for a morning outing like this!! Here was how my morning went:

1. Get myself ready
2. Feed us all breakfast
3. Get James dressed
4. Get Jack dressed
5. Pack diapers for Jack
6. Pack diapers for James
7. Pack wipes
8. Fix snacks for James
9. Fix juice cup for James
10. Fix snack for me (nursing mom)
11. Pack extra clothes for James
12. Pack extra clothes for Jack
13. Grab hat for Jack to block sun
14. Put stroller in car
15. Put baby sling in car
16. Feed Jack one last time
17. Change Jack one last time
18. Grab camera
19. Make sure I have zoo pass
20. Grab nursing apron just in case
21. Grab Jack's paci
22. Find/Grab James' paci
23. Strap Jack in his carseat
24. Strap James in carseat
25. Put James' shoes back on
26. Text Amy that I'm going to be late
27. Yea! We're on our way!

Was it worth it? Absolutely!! Once we were in the car, it was easy-breezy! All 4 boys did great and we had a great time with them, as always!

3 Months

Eating his fist
Sleepy boy, ready for a nap

Going to church together
First time on the swing, and he loved it!
Happy as can be between his daddy and brother
Jack and Kolt...handsome little dudes

Oh how I love this age! 3-9 months is so much fun and so easy, because they are so sweet, smiley, and responsive, and not active yet!

Jack smiles all the time now, has big-time flirty eyes, and is the happiest little baby. He will smile and talk to anyone, anytime, anywhere! He loves it and seems to be just waiting patiently until someone will interact with him so he can interact back. I love his budding personality!

He is squealing with delight now, loves to stare at his hands and feet, and coos (a-cccooo, agooo, and nnnga) so sweetly. The way he moves his lips when he coos is so adorable. This morning, James smiled and talked to Jack for a while, and Josh and I couldn't believe how excited Jack got. He loves his brother! I don't blame him!

He is sleeping in his crib now and doing remarkably better. He is waking up about 2-3 times a night (last night he just woke up once!) to eat, but that's far better than he was doing in his bassinet. He is really good about going to sleep on his own and not waking up to want the paci. Sometimes he doesn't even want the paci to fall asleep.

Jack moves all the time. He's not a calm, still baby, but he's a very happy, active baby. He hardly ever complains, but when he's mad, he's MAD! But, as soon as you start to fix the problem, he's happy again. Such personality already!

He is always looking around, glued into whatever is going on. He is as alert as can be.

He hates dirty diapers.

He eats his fist all the time now.

He doesn't like being on his tummy for more than 5 minutes.

He doesn't like the swing and will only sit in the bouncy seat for a while if the water is running near him.

He likes to be propped up like he's sitting or lying on his back, and most of all, being held. Lately he likes most to be held looking out.

He sleeps on his sides.

He's not a huge fan of the car, but if we can get him to fall asleep, he's good to go.

He's eating a little faster now...about 20 minutes, every 2-3 1/2 hours

He's not a gassy baby anymore! Yea!

He loves to look at himself in the mirror.

He likes to stand in our laps.

He weighs about 15 lbs.

He sings along when he is sung to.

He has the sweetest coo when he's sleepy. He'll look into your eyes sleepily, and softly coo with a slight smile.

He likes to try to sit up when lying down a lot. It looks like he's working on his abs!

He's such a delight!!! It's amazing how much your heart grows with each child! I adore being his mommy, and I love the dynamic he has added to our family. Having two kids is such a blessing!

Taco Seasoning

Did you know that if you are out of taco seasoning and in a pinch, you can make your own? My mom emailed me this link, since I had this problem today.

Just thought I'd share!

All in a Weekend's Work!

This weekend, James...

1) Watered the fake, indoor plant with his daddy's Bush's tea

2) Cleaned the bathtub with the entire (3/4 full) bottle of baby soap

3) Decorated the refrigerator with markers and highlighters!

(Look closely)

What would we do without all of his help?!
