Where are the presents?

Ok, I love this little Christmas outfit - check out the little reindeer on her feet!  There was one on her butt, too.  She also has a Christmas bib on.  Had to get all of those fun things in before the holiday!

Hanging with Uncle Marty

Nothing beats hanging with Uncle Marty, who's always game to share a beer or a bottle and a good joke.

Go to sleep, Gaby

Gaby has been going through some trouble sleeping since we returned from Tarah's wedding...this was hour 4 of trying to get her to go to sleep yesterday....it's the SwaddleMe, which while cute, did not work.

Happy New Year!

We are so thankful for everything we were blessed with in 2009 and that meant FINALLY opening our magnum of champagne we bought on our visit to J Vineyards in Sonoma a few years ago.  Ah, those were the days!

Sorry, dad, but we just can't get any pictures of you with your eyes open!

Silent Night

I love this picture with Gaby sleeping on the chair with Tigre the Cat on the ottoman behind her - I wish every night was this quiet and peaceful!

For those of you who didn't get the Gaby-Gram I sent, I thought I'd share this picture of our little Cindy Lou Who...thanks to Grandma Sharon for the cute outfit!

I'm back. Finally!

Okay, I understand this blog hasn't been all I made it out to be since it hasn't been updated since I left the hospital.  However, I think I deserve a pass given we have been getting settled in our new house (which is great), getting used to having a baby around (she's great too) and unfortunately, I had some complications after my C section and had to go back into the hospital over Thanksgiving weekend.  I'm happy to say that I'm doing much better and hope to be posting much more regularly, especially since we now have wifi set up at home (Thanks, Marty!)

So, since you have been kept waiting so long, I thought I would give you guys a good picture, when she posed like this this morning I nearly fell off the bed laughing.  I swear I didn't make her do it.

Ladies and Gentleman, Uncle Rico!

Gaby's Birthday

Ryan and I are happy to announce the birth of our first daughter!

Gabrielle Jean Lee
Born November 18, 2009 at 11:47 PM
8 pounds, 15 oz
23 1/2 inches long (!)

We checked into the hospital shortly after 8am and I wasn't feeling any pain from contractions - somewhere in the back of my head I was hoping the whole process would just go that simply...  I was given drugs to induce labor and speed up the process and started having contractions in the afternoon.  While the epidural helped, it seemed to slow up the process a bit as I didn't get to start pushing til almost 8pm. After 2 1/2 hours of making progress (but not quite enough) the doctor decided to send me in for a C Section.  While the change of plans was a little scary and overwhelming, it was all worth it when a happy, healthy baby girl was delivered within the hour. She had a room full of admirers waiting for her when she came out - Grandma Kathy, Grandpa Ron and Grandma Pam, and Aunt Beth and Uncle John - everyone was excited to meet her!

Yesterday in the hospital passed by fast - Daddy had to learn very quickly how to feed, burp, and change Gaby as I was stuck in bed after the surgery.  We had a bunch of visitors and Gaby had fun being held and fed by all of them!  Today I'm feeling much better and able to help out some more.  The doctors expect to send me home Sunday.
