Merry Christmas

From the teachings of
President Thomas S. Monson

Give of your money and you give much.
Give of your time and you give more.
Give of yourself and you give all.

We are grateful to the MANY people who continually give of themselves to us.
Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I Heart Vinyl Lettering!!

I LOVE that I can put each of our FAMILY
definitions on the wall to highlight our family portrait.

I especially LOVE that it's what I wake up to
every morning.

Problem Solving

Most would look at this picture as
more of a problem
rather than a problem solved.

As we left for church on Sunday Ammon
exclaimed from the backseat,
"I don't have my other sock!!
What am I going to do?"

It was too late to turn around
and make it to church in time for Caleb to
fulfill his priesthood duties.
We, Fred & I, said "You need to figure it out."

Figure it out he did!!!

Much to my delight (seriously) he used a pen
to create a hole in the middle of one sock
and then ripped the sock in two.
"It looks just like a pair of regular socks!"
He said, so pleased with himself.
And that it did --
When he had his shoes on.

I couldn't be more proud.
Ammon - A TRUE problem solver!

P.S. - As we exited the car at church the second sock was found.
It had survived the commute
safely on the running board outside the car.

Ammon's First Gymnastics Meet!!!

This is the first gymnastics meet of the season
that Ammon has been able to compete in.
He is a Level 4 gymnast and has been
unable to compete in the two previous meets
because they have been held on Sundays.
We told the team Mom and the coach
that Ammon would not be competing on
Sunday because of our religious beliefs.
We are so grateful those beliefs have been
GREATLY respected and understood.

When the host gym for the third meet learned
that there was a Level 4 gymnast unable to compete,
because it would be take place on a Sunday,
they gave Ammon permission to compete with
the Level 5 team, but be scored him as a level 4, on Saturday.

Ammon did WELL!!
Much better than even his coach expected.
He prepared Ammon to get, out of a total of 15 points,
11's & 12's, & a 9 on pommel. (See his events and scores below.)

He received a metal for being the only Level 4
participant in the meet that day.
Unfortunately his scores were not weighed
against the scores of the other Level 4s on Sunday.
BUT we are grateful for the experience though.

We are hoping for a Saturday meet soon!

Way to go AMMON!!!!

Christmas in Nashville

After enjoying Christmas morning at home
we headed North to Nashville
to enjoy an NFL football game.

It was the Tennessee Titans
vs.
the San Diego Chargers

We were cheering for the Chargers
since their free safety, Eric Weddel,
got us the tickets.

It was so COOL!
No really - It was COLD!!
37 degrees and windy!

Does it look like a fun time?

You tell me.

Even with the cold.
We had a GREAT time.

We stayed in Nashville that night
and ENJOYED the
Opryland Hotel
the next day.

The following pictures are all
INSIDE the hotel.
It was beautiful!

The kids even enjoyed a little
ICE SKATING!

FUN and BEAUTIFUL trip!
