Yellow Daisy Festival 2012

--Stone Mountain's Yellow Daisy Festival--
I have been SO looking forward to this!!
Hundreds of vendors sell their handmade goods -
everything from funnel cakes to tole painted
Santa lawn art.  It's SO FUN to see what
people come up with.
I am an IDEA shopper and in the 3 years
I have attended I have only purchased two
items -  2 BEAUTIFUL jackets
from Beverly's Boutique.  Unfortunately
she did not have a booth this year.

SODAlighted Mentor/Mentee Kickoff

In our ward the Mia Maids and Beehives
are Mentors to the Activity Day girls.
The purpose for this assignment is
to help bridge the gap between primary
and Young Women, help nurture friendships
between the older and younger girls,
and provide an opportunity for the Young Women
to reach out and SERVE.
Last Thursday we made invitations for the Mentees -
inviting them to Kick-off the Mentor/Mentee
program with a "Get to KNOW YOU" party.
We had SO MUCH FUN
with our theme - SODAlighted to Get to Know You!
 We had a SODA BAR.

 A PHOTO BOOTH

 with PROPS!

The Sharon Springs YW Presidency :)
Amy, Martina and I HAD to initiate the Photo Booth.
A FEW of the Young Men tried out the props as well.

They had such a GOOD TIME
getting to know each other!

SO PROUD of all of the Mentors!!
LOVE ALL of these girls!!

Labor Day Antiquing

What do we do for Labor Day?
THIS was the big question of last week.
We searched and thought and searched some more.
I finally decided my kids needed to experience
ANTIQUING in the SOUTH.

We visited this store in Buford, GA
and had a GREAT time.
We saw SO MANY FUN things!

 We purchased ONE item.
Let's play a GAME -- take a guess which
child purchased the ONE item
and what it was :).

Was it  HALEIGH --
 who purchased a guitar,
 a video camera,
 a point a shoot camera,
 or an old projector?

Was it CALEB --
 who purchased a typewriter,
 a record player,
(picture is blurred because he was
jammin' as a DJ)
 an EXTRA LARGE mustache,
or baseball cards?

Was it AMMON --
who purchased a rotary dial phone,
 a pedal toy car,
or a suited stool with legs and shoes?
 We ENJOYED this sign
while making our purchase.

SO WHO made the purchase
and WHAT was it?
(Drum roll PLEASE!!)

It was AMMON who could not
leave without purchasing
this rotary dial phone.  The cashiers
helped him try it out at the counter
to make sure it worked.
"This is SO AWESOME!!" -- Ammon

Antiquing -- it's a FUN thing!!
