Not Enough Time... In a day, a week, or TWO!

First, I want to say "thank you" to those who have called to gently remind me that I need to post new pictures and happenings. It has been so very busy around here lately... and I haven't had time to really do anything. I finally got to actually sit and talk with my Mama Teri this morning for the first time in weeks, literally!

I'll try to catch you up from where I think we left off last...

Father's Day weekend was supposed to be another baseball tournament weekend. But the flood gates of heaven opened up and the tournament was totally rained out. Dalton was so upset because they were the "defending champions". We were able to take the kids (along with my little sis & her crew) to the park and a nice lunch with Dad on Father's Day.

WHAT A SIGHT! Two grown boys
playing on the playground!

The past week has just been a work-focused week. Going here, driving there... you all know the routine!? Plus many more baseball games all leading up to the final "pre-state" tournament this weekend. Dalton has added to his Home Run totals this week, and his official stats read something like this: Batting average > .600 and Slugging average of 1300+. The team has had a phenomenal year and a win this Tuesday clinches them with First Place in the league:)

Oh... and they did win their tournament this weekend too!

And no post would be complete without a picture of our resident Princess... whom we are having a rather tough time trying to plan a fourth birthday party for. (Any suggestions are greatly appreciated AND encouraged).

This is one of the shots taken in attempt
to get the "perfect" one for her B-Day invitation.

I had better cut this short since we have so much to do... our house is really suffering from lack of adequate attention the past week or so. Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable 4th of July!

Show me the SAVINGS:)

We have started the transition from diapers to "Pull-Ups" this past week with Bethanie. She absolutely loves the whole "puttin' on her own panties" thing! We have been wanting to make this move a month or so ago when she started to really be interested in potty training... but we had to wait until she made it to 20-lbs first so they would stay on that itty-bitty waist of hers.

Okay... so where am I going with this?!

For those of you who don't already know, I am a miser with my money and very willing to use coupons for certain items. (After all, I fed 15 people for Easter on less than $40.00). And I just wanted to pass on to all of you mothers of soon-to-be potty trainers that Huggies Pull-Ups have an awesome coupon system. Tony registered us with their online system for diaper & bath coupons right before we had Emmalie and again with Bethanie. Only this time around, when it come to the trainer pant coupons... they are much beter. About two weeks ago we received our initial starter of coupons for saving on "Pull-Ups". In this initial installment we received two $5.00 off coupons + three $3.00 off coupons in the mail. That ROCKS in my book:) Dillons/Kroger stores will give you a $3.00 off coupon for "Pull-Ups" if you buy a pack right now, too. (Or at least our has).

Now, I know that the cloth training pants are ideal and we have quite a "stash" of them to use... just as soon as Bethanie's waist is big enough to keep them up, that is! (Unlike her mother, she was blessed with no butt!). In the meantime, these coupons are great and can save us mothers a ton!

Shelia

P.S. The whole "potty training" thing is starting off well. Especially during the start of each day. Sometimes I think Bethanie uses her potty chair just to play with the toilet paper though:)

20 - 20

"OH MY GOSH! What could it mean? 20-20?!"

It's not a vision test result... or the score for one of Dalton's baseball games this weekend. Nor are we referencing the Sunday night news show (wait, is that even still on these days?!). 20-20 is the mark of two milestones for little miss Bethanie!

That's right. Bethanie is 20-months-old today... and she is weighing in right at 20-lbs! (Guess her car seat being turned front-facing can now be considered "appropriate"). She marked her 20th month with a new word ---- SCARY:0 ---- in response to all of the thunder and lightening going on this evening. It's hard to believe that our baby girl is fast approaching her 2nd birthday. She's growing up so fast.

I've been learning some of Tony's photography secrets. Right now I'm trying to figure out the whole settings and focus thing. I truly admire all of the professional photographers out there who know this like the back of their hand. It really is much harder than one might think.

Emmalie is actually laughing at Bethie here...

The posing princess... little boys BEWARE!

Bethanie... the perfect focal point
(I'll get the blur thing down soon enough!)

So innocent looking, yet we fear the
"terrible two's" are about to make a showing...

Sisterly Love!

It's been another long weekend of baseball tournaments, so I'm cutting this post short:) I'll end with my thought for the week (from Hebrews 13)...

'Do not forget to entertain strangers.
For by so doing, some people have
entertained angels without knowing it.'

FINALLY!

That's right. The weather FINALLY held out long enough for the Yankees to finish a baseball tournament:) Dalton's local 12-yr-old Yankee team, that is.

The best part... The Yankees came out as the tournament CHAMPIONS! It was well worth the sunburn from 90+ degree sunny weather, the broken and hard metal bleachers, and the whole shorts being glued to your butt with sweat experience to finally get to finish a tournament. Especially since the boys were to be higher seeds on the bracket rounds for the tournaments that got "rained out".

The next best part... Dalton has yet another home run ball to add to his ever-growing collection! We were actually able to get video of this one. Boy, can that kid run those bases.

Now, for the funny part. All of us parents were commenting on Saturday about the fact that there was no entrance/gate fee. EVERY other tournament that we've been in (including our own) had a daily fee attached for those watching. The team was so eager to finish a tournament... AND, to win a covetted "1st Place" trophy. So we all kind of forgot about it... until the boys won, that is. We immediately realized why there was no gate/entrance fee. There were NO TROPHIES! When the tournament officials came out at the completion to do "awards", they handed the teams T-shirts that said "Champions" and "Runners-Up". You can only imagine the look on those 12-yr-old boys' faces. Though I felt for them, it was kind of funny too. Especially when they went up to Dalton with the biggest size shirt they had ordered for the winning team... a Youth XL. (I don't think Dalton has worn a youth anything in 2 yrs!).

In other news... Devin has his first motion picture movie script submitted on "the wire" so he can sell it:) He wrote his first screen play at the age of 14 and recently touched it up to send for copyrights so he could start this process. He has had many inquiries from studios wanting to read the script (including Warner Brothers). Keep your fingers crossed for him. We are all so very proud of the little **** for continuing with his writing. My mother always said his imagination would be an asset someday. (Guess she knew something we didn't).

I'll close with a long list of happy regards, since I won't be able to post every day...

Happy Birthday Kamie (21 again today, right?!)
