30 things that change when you have a baby
2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.
3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.
4. You respect your body...... finally! This is sooo true after experiencing 14 hrs of labor and 2 hrs of pushing!
5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way. This is my favorite one on the list....I couldn't agree more!
6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.
7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.
8. Your heart breaks much more easily.
9. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.
10. Every day is a surprise.
11. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you. Hooray for poop!
12. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.
13. You become a morning person. We're talking like a 4 am morning person!
14 Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.
15. You finally realize that true joy doesn't come from material wealth.
16. You'd rather buy an outfit for your baby than those shoes that you've been dying to have.
17. You don't mind going to bed at 9 p.m. on Friday night. Don't mind? Shoot.....I am exhausted by 9 pm and can't wait to go to bed!
18. Silence? What's that?
19. You realize that the 15 (or 20) pounds you can't seem to get rid of are totally worth having.
20. You discover an inner strength you never thought you had.
21. You no longer rely on a clock — your baby now sets your schedule. Addison now has a onesie that says "Mommy's Little Alarm Clock".....how appropriate!
22. You give parents with a screaming child an "I-know-the-feeling" look instead of a "Can't-they-shut-him-up?" one.
23. You take the time for one more hug and kiss even if it means you'll be late.
24. You learn that taking a shower (and shaving your legs) is a luxury.
25. You find yourself wanting to make this world a better place.
26. If you didn’t believe in love at first sight before, now you do!
27. You have to quit watching the news because you see every story from a mother's perspective and it breaks your heart.
28. You just plain love life more - everything comes together and becomes better because of one tiny person and your love for them.
29. You want to take better care of yourself for your child.
30. You can have the most wonderful conversation using only vowel sounds like "ahhh" and "oooo."
As big as all these things seem to us, they don't compare to one mom's experience when she had her baby. Faith Hill sums it up perfectly in her song, "A Baby Changes Everything".
Kinda puts things in perspective, huh? I hope everyone takes time to remember the reason we celebrate Christmas. It was all because of one baby that changed the world forever!!!
