A Baby Changes EVERYTHING!

I've been a mom for almost 6 weeks now and my life has taken a drastic change, but I absolutely LOVE IT! I love being a mommy! So many things have changed, but I wouldn't trade any of it! I got this list of things that change from a baby website that sends me emails periodically and it is soooo true that I just had to share it!

30 things that change when you have a baby

1. You finally stop to smell the roses, because your baby is in your arms.
2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.
3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.
4. You respect your body...... finally! This is sooo true after experiencing 14 hrs of labor and 2 hrs of pushing!
5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way. This is my favorite one on the list....I couldn't agree more!
6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.
7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.
8. Your heart breaks much more easily.
9. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.
10. Every day is a surprise.
11. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you. Hooray for poop!
12. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.
13. You become a morning person. We're talking like a 4 am morning person!
14 Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.
15. You finally realize that true joy doesn't come from material wealth.
16. You'd rather buy an outfit for your baby than those shoes that you've been dying to have.
17. You don't mind going to bed at 9 p.m. on Friday night. Don't mind? Shoot.....I am exhausted by 9 pm and can't wait to go to bed!
18. Silence? What's that?
19. You realize that the 15 (or 20) pounds you can't seem to get rid of are totally worth having.
20. You discover an inner strength you never thought you had.
21. You no longer rely on a clock — your baby now sets your schedule. Addison now has a onesie that says "Mommy's Little Alarm Clock".....how appropriate!
22. You give parents with a screaming child an "I-know-the-feeling" look instead of a "Can't-they-shut-him-up?" one.
23. You take the time for one more hug and kiss even if it means you'll be late.
24. You learn that taking a shower (and shaving your legs) is a luxury.
25. You find yourself wanting to make this world a better place.
26. If you didn’t believe in love at first sight before, now you do!
27. You have to quit watching the news because you see every story from a mother's perspective and it breaks your heart.
28. You just plain love life more - everything comes together and becomes better because of one tiny person and your love for them.
29. You want to take better care of yourself for your child.
30. You can have the most wonderful conversation using only vowel sounds like "ahhh" and "oooo."

As big as all these things seem to us, they don't compare to one mom's experience when she had her baby. Faith Hill sums it up perfectly in her song, "A Baby Changes Everything".

Kinda puts things in perspective, huh? I hope everyone takes time to remember the reason we celebrate Christmas. It was all because of one baby that changed the world forever!!!

One Month Old.....Already?!

My sweet girl turned one month old this past Sunday (November 15th)!!! Wow! Time is flying by! We've both survived our first month together and are both doing well! Addison is growing like a weed.....her doctor is very impressed by her weight gain! She has little chunky cheeks and a double chin, haha! She is a great baby.....doesn't fuss unless she needs something (food or diaper change). She has a very calm personality (which I attribute to her daddy!). I am very blessed to have her as my daughter. Kevin and I are so in love with her. Sometimes I catch myself just sitting and staring at her sweet, sleeping face. I am so proud to be called her mommy! I love you Addison!!!!

First time for everything!

Well.....last Saturday Addison had two "first" moments. She had her first real bath last Saturday (Finally....after 4 weeks with her umbilical stump!)! She loves her baths!!!! SOOOO thankful that I don't have a baby who cries all during her bath!

She had her first real bath in order to get ready to attend her first wedding! Our youth minister at church got married Saturday and Addison was great during the whole ceremony. She slept the whole time and never made a peep. =) This was her first event to get dressed up for instead of being in her sleepers.

More "first" moments to come! Everyone have a great week!!!

Addison's First Halloween

Well, Mommy was sort of a slacker this Halloween. I didn't find a costume that I was just crazy about for Addison so instead we settled for a cute little onesie. She slept pretty much all night, but she sure is a cute little pumpkin when she sleeps! Here are two pictures that Gigi took for us on Halloween. Enjoy!

Pictures of my Lovebug!

My mom (Gigi) took these pictures last week when Addison was 1 week old. I absolutely love them!!! Who needs a professional when you have a mom that does this good?! I am completely head over heels for my baby girl! Despite the sleep deprivation, things are good here. Addison makes the cutest little faces! She is starting to be a little challenging at night not wanting to sleep in between feedings (unless she is in my arms!). Last night she decided to initiate me into motherhood and spit up all over me and her in the middle of the night. =) Ahh......life with a newborn! But I wouldn't trade it for a minute!!!! Enjoy these pictures.....I sure do!

Addison's Nursery

Hello! I figured that since Addison's due date is Thursday, that I needed to show everyone her nursery before she makes her grand appearance! It has been completely finished for about a week or two, but life has been incredibly hectic this past month. I have been having doctor visits every Wednesday....and each Wednesday I learn Miss Addison is perfectly content where she is! Also, my Papa (mom's dad) had back surgery this Wednesday, so I was up at the hospital before my appt. for that. Praise the Lord, surgery went well and he is recovering slowly but surely. And as I mentioned in a previous post, my Granddaddy (dad's dad) had been in the hospital since September 4th. On September 26th, the Lord called him home and he passed away after 3 long weeks in ICU. We all miss Granddaddy greatly and I would greatly appreciate your prayers for our family (especially my sweet Grandmother, as they were married for 55 years) as we adjust to life without Granddaddy. Needless to say, I haven't had much time to do anything but work, be with family, and sleep. So....that's my life in a nutshell this past month!

However, we do have pictures of the nursery and a 39 week and 3 day belly picture!!!!! Hopefully this will be the last week for a belly shot! =)

Yes....I know you can't have picture frames on the changing table, but that's where they are just for now! We have a shelf to put up above the wording.....just haven't got around to it yet!

My sweet sister (AKA "Auntie Lou Lou", haha!) made the letters to hang over the crib! She is hoping to share her birthday this Friday with her new niece!

This is a close up of the baby bedding. I absolutely love the bright colors! The bedding, curtains, pillows, and diaper holder were handmade by "Nonna" for her nephew's first little girl and they so kindly let me use it! A big thanks to Nonna, Blake, and Lindsey!!!

Addison's daddy made this cool little abstract piece of art that sits above the closet doors. He did a great job, huh?!

That's all for now.....time for this preggo to start heading to bed! I am still working as of now! Hopefully, I will make it all day Monday and Tuesday, half a day Wednesday (then off to my OB appt), and start my maternity leave on her due date (no matter if she's here or not!). Everyone just pray this week for a safe delivery and healthy baby when Addison decides to come! My next post may just be a "guest post" updating everyone on Addison's arrival! Stay tuned!

Maternity Pictures

Here's a few of the maternity pictures my mom took of Kevin and I this past Saturday. I think she did a fabulous job!!

Still Kickin! (Both Addison and Myself!)

HELLO!!! Just wanted to let everyone know that YES.....I am still alive, and still VERY MUCH pregnant! I will be 37 weeks this coming Thursday and so far, so good! Everything is still going great with my pregnancy, but I don't think little miss Addison is ready to leave her humble abode. I have felt NO contractions, nor do I think she has dropped any. I am going every Wednesday for my weekly visits, so I will let you know if anything changes after tomorrow. I've been EXTREMELY busy here lately, so I'll just give you a rundown of things happening with the Foshees.

1. I'm still working full time and exhausted from it!

2. My grandfather (My dad's dad) was rushed to the hospital on September 5 with breathing difficulty and has been in ICU ever since (PRAISE REPORT- He was taken off the vent today and is improving every day!!) so I've been visiting him on most days after I leave work.
3. I had my baby shower about 1 month ago and have yet to post about it because my mom has all the good pictures. Here's a sneak preview I stole from my friend Mary:

4. I had a baby shower thrown by all my coworkers (which was wonderful!!), but have yet to download those pictures onto my computer.

5. I've worked on getting the nursery ready for our sweet angel, packed her bag for the hospital, and thought about packing my bag for the hospital.

6. Taken maternity pictures (I'll post those in the next post!)

7. TRIED to get some rest in between all of the chaos!

Whew! I'm out of breath just telling you what all I've done. BUT, my sweet husband has dinner ready, so I'm gonna go eat with him and hopefully I'll post my maternity pictures in a new post after dinner is done!

Sweet Home Alabama!

Well, it's about that time!!! There's only about 17 days left until one of my favorite times of the year!!! It's almost football season!!!!!!! YAY!!! And you know me.....my baby's got to be in style on gameday when she arrives! Hopefully she won't be here until about 4 or 5 weeks into the season, but that still leaves plenty of games for her to be here for. I just love Alabama football!!!!! And the fall is one of my favorite times of year with the leaves changing colors and the cool (hopefully) temperatures. With all that said, I just had to show you all Addison's "Game Day" outfit for when she comes! Roll Tide!!!!

Isn't it just the cutest???
And I just thought I'd share this......Sketch likes to sit with his little sister! =)
He thinks my belly makes a great prop!

31 week belly picture

Hey guys! Just trying to be a good blogger and keep my little bloggie friends updated. Here's a picture of little Addison in my belly at 31 weeks and 3 days. She's getting big and moving around ALL THE TIME!!! And to think.....I still have 8 weeks to go......and I'm supposed to get even bigger?!?!?!?! =) HOWEVER, I will say I love being pregnant! It's been wonderful so far!

My super smart sister!

Just had to brag on my sister for a little minute! She graduated from high school in 2006 and this August, she finished her bachelor's degree in Accounting! We are very proud of her!! She starts this semester on her Master's degree and hopefully will be finished with that towards the end of next year. Congratulations Lauren!!! We love you!!

"I'm Walkin' on Sunshine"

I'm back from the beach and let me just tell you.....it was blissful!!! I had such a wonderful time just resting, relaxing, and forgetting all my worries. We headed down to Destin last Friday and came back Tuesday. We went with my parents, my sister, and her fiance. We ate great seafood (Clam strips.....yummy!), soaked in the sun, and slept in late. =) Kevin and I had a rough little week last week, so this trip was much needed. We are in the process of still trying to sell our house (Any takers????) and getting things set for when the baby comes. There's so much to think about and prepare for (Speaking of.....anyone have a good recommendations for a pediatrician around the Bessemer/McCalla area?)
To make matters worse, I get a call from the company that I have my house alarm for on Friday morning calling to tell me my alarm had gone off around 8:45 that morning. What?! At first, I didn't worry and thought my fat cat had knocked something over that triggered the alarm. To make a long story short, Kevin got home that afternoon to load up for the beach and we discovered someone really did try to break in. Two of our doors had pry marks around the locks, and there was a smudged hand print on the window. We talked with the security company and they said that the window is what set the alarm off. I guess they tried the two doors and couldn't get in, so they resorted to the window. When it opened the alarm went off and they ran. They didn't get in, but it's enough to scare the mess out of me!!
All that to say, I was a little bummed out on the way to the beach. Just too much going on in my life and Kevin and I have been slightly overwhelmed (Prayer for peace and direction would be much appreciated). Well, on the way down to the beach, it starts raining. Then, out of nowhere, I look over to see a beautiful rainbow in the sky! Not only was it one rainbow, but TWO!!! You can barely see the 2nd one in the picture below, but I promise it's there! Isn't God just wonderful?! He sends us reminders of His love and faithfulness at just the right time! It certainly made me smile! Take a look!

Now for a little pregnancy photo session on the beach. Here I am at 30 weeks and 2 days! Enjoy!

A little heart around our lovebug! We can't wait to see her little face and hold her!

I absolutely LOVE this picture! Kev's gonna be a great daddy!!!

And here is an officially "belly shot".....she sure is growing!

Here's a picture of the engaged couple!! Aren't they just the cutest?!

***NOTE***: These last two pictures are just for memory sake so I can look back at them and remember my first pregnancy!

A picture of me in my swimsuit (gag!!) and my sweet sister relaxing on the beach!

A belly picture in my swimsuit...can't believe I am posting this!!!!

Well, that's our vacation in a nutshell! Hope everyone enjoys the new pictures! I'm trying REALLY hard to be a good blogger to keep everyone updated and have it for my memory in the future. Everyone have a great week! God bless and remember.....God always had a rainbow in store for you after the rain! =)

Beach Trip w/Kevin's Family

Kevin and I went to the beach last weekend with his mom, her fiance, and Kevin's grandmother. It was a very short trip, but we had a great time! Kevin took a belly picture on the beach the night we got there after dinner at the delicious Crap Trap ( I love that place!!).

This would be 28 weeks and 1 day if I remember correctly.

We found this footprint on the beach. The footprint with toes is my foot.....a size 9, so I can only imagine what size this person's shoes are!!!

The next night we went to play putt putt per Kevin's request. It was very breezy and nice outside and we had a great time!

Kevin's mom, Renee, and her fiance, Kenneth, playing golf.

The winner of putt putt, aka Kevin's Nanny. This woman can play some putt putt! She beat us all by like 6 or 7 strokes!! She's really good! She also played in a bowling tournament while we were down there and did really well in that tournament too!

Sorry I don't have a lot of pictures, but it was a short trip. And you better believe I'm not taking pictures of me in my maternity swimsuit either!! We are going back to the beach next weekend with my family, so maybe I'll have some more pictures from that trip. I'm really trying to be a better blogger and blog more often. We are working on the nursery and it's coming together well, but I'm still holding out on posting pictures until it's all ready. Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!!
