The E.R. visit

Luckily this wasn't that big of a deal.  We mostly had to go the E.R. because of the time and day that this happened.  It could have been dealt with at the pediatricians, but they are not open at 10:00 p.m. on a Saturday night.  (Not even their "after hours" locations.)  So we headed down to Timp Hosp, to have them see if this deep gash above his left eyebrow  needed stitches.  It didn't.  Instead they used a special glue to "glue it together", keep it protected from infection, and hopefully help the healing so that the scar isn't so bad.  He was a trooper through it all, and I'm sure it will be just fine.  What are ya gonna do?... Raising boys?...  I'm sure this isn't our last visit to the E.R.  And I'm grateful it was for such a minor thing.  Last time we were in there was for Scott's broken arm and emergency surgery.  So this felt really easy!  Glad to live close to medical help when we need it.   And glad this little guy is going to be okay!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It's now 2013!!!

We just stayed home and played games and such as a family this year.  It was a lot of fun.  The kids love staying up late.  We did all the traditional things too, like banging pots and pans, and toasting to the new year with a special drink.  Here's to a great 2013!

Christmas 2012!!!!

 Yeah!  Christmas!!!

There were a TON of pics of the kids opening presents, but I just chose two, to give you the idea.  It was a fun mess!  Awe... Christmas morning...

Here it is before "the mess".

Christmas EVE at Jardine's.  We always sing songs, and play bells.  Plus we get to open one present!

Christmas EVE at Mortensen's.  The kids did a really cute nativity scene (where Josh told the whole story and did an amazing job!)  And Grandpa Mortensen read a book about the true meaning of Christmas.  Super cute.

I made these cute snowman pancakes for the kids on Christmas Eve!

The "Big Mortensen" Family Christmas Party.  Always a classic.  Some really good white elephant gifts this year.

We let our kids open something Christmas Eve morning.  That way they can enjoy it all day.  Plus they open something in the night at Grandma's, so it works out.

This is our Christmas Party with our Johnson Cousin's.  This year we took a field trip to Sun River Garden's and then came home to doughnuts and hot chocolate.  Super fun!

We had a great Christmas this year!
