Happy Fall Ya'll!!!

The Smith's are so glad that it is fall!! I am so far behind on updating the blog much to my family's dismay but when you have the cutest pumpkin in the patch to play with all day it is hard to make time for anything else. Enjoy my baby who is turning into a big boy before my eyes.

Our first picture that shows our teeth!

Catching up...

Coleman loves pulling up on everything but his favorite is the window seal. Coleman loves watching the trucks drive by and the wind blowing the trees. Often, I find him standing at the window watching the butterfly's on the bush outside the window.

Labor Day we headed to Big C and JaJa's farm. Coleman got a sneak peak at one of his Christmas presents that my mom found at a garage sale last week. Coleman's first four wheeler...

The outfit is a new gift from that Aunt Bara made for Coleman! He loves sporting his bow-tie and suspenders.

Thankfully, he does not know how to make it move by pushing the button; we must invest in a helmet
first.  He loved getting pushed around the house just sitting on it by his amazing aunt's who will do anything to make him smile. We loved getting to spend part of Labor Day with our family and celebrate my grandfather's birthday.

Take Me for a Ride on Your Big Green Tractor...

Here is a quick glimpse into our short trip to the my parent's farm the weekend Courtney graduated. We love going to my parents home on the farm and getting to relax, play, and work the land (as my husband would say).  We are so thankful that Coleman will be able to grow up on a farm when he goes to Big C and JaJa house in the summers and holiday's.  We believe it will hopefully help cultivate some Godly manly qualities in our son.
A beautiful tree in my parents yard.  I love this tree!

One of the perks to living on the farm is riding the tractor with Big C. We put Coleman on the tractor when he was younger but my dad was nervous about taking him for a ride but this time Coleman got to ride and drive the tractor with Big C.

Coleman loved the smoke stack due to it pitter-patter noise.

"Hey Mom, I can drive the tractor!"

Being the great driver Coleman is he wanted to drive with his hands and feet!

Another benefit to going to see my parents is that my dad's parents live a mile down the road and we get to visit with them, too! Coleman loves his great grandparents and normally gives them some of the biggest smiles. My grandfather the junkologist (a whole post would only be sufficient to explain...so another day I will define) has lots of fun things to play with at his house.

Hence, the yellow wig we found!

Lastly,  a bonus to country life is long gravel driveways that grandparents let there grandchildren learn to drive down. So hear is Coleman first driving lesson. Goal of lesson one to keep eyes on the road. Coleman loved getting to drive down the driveway and would look over at the passengers with a proud smile and everyone would remind him to keep his eyes on the road!!! Here, he is driving lesson number one at seven months old!

So Proud....

Congratulations to Dr. Courtney Steele, DPT
Way to go, Aunt NeetNey!

We are so proud of you Aunt NeetNey! My sister graduated at the beginning of August with her doctorate in Physical Therapy. She worked so hard and is brilliant. We praise the Lord for sustaining Courtney and Brandon the last three years while she was in school and look forward to seeing how the Lord will use her in her field of study.
I will be playing catch up the rest of the week with pictures from what we have been up to. It has been a busy month!

A Quick Getaway...

This week we made a trip to St. Louis, Missouri.  Eric and I love St. Louis. It holds a dear place in my heart because Eric took me on a day trip to St. Louis for my birthday while we were dating and it's the home of the St. Louis Cardinals! Eric grew up a huge fan of the Cardinals and going to St. Louis in the summers to watch them play. We can say that Coleman loves the Cardinals, too!

Cutest Cardinal fan in the stadium!

It was a special trip this year because Aunt NeetNey and Uncle B came along, too! We had so much fun spending time with Courtney and Brandon. They are the best Aunt and Uncle! Coleman is one blessed little boy!

We stayed busy the whole time, one trait my mom has left on us is how to pack as much into one day as we are able too.  Even though we are in our twenty's each of us commented on how sore our feet were last night from walking all over the city. We made a trip to the zoo, a picnic in Forrest Park, experienced the City Museum, window shopped at Union Station, watched the Cardinal game, went to an italian grocery store, had dinner on "The Hill", and of course took in the Gateway Arch. We did it all in 100 degree temperature and stopped to take 550 pictures!

Another aspect of traveling that my parents instilled in us was to not eat at chain restaurants that you have at home. Eric, my husbands, favorite pizza is in St. Louis. He introduced me two years ago and I have been craving it and trying to imitate it in the kitchen ever sense. It is IMO's Pizza, a St. Louis style thin crust pizza covered in your choice of toppings with Provel cheese (the secret ingredient) cut in squares. We all loved it so much we ate it two days in a row for lunch. Another place dear to our hearts is a district called "The Hill", the little Italy of St. Louis. I love real italian food and always enjoy our meal on "The Hill." This year we walked around the community, went to the grocery store, passed by the gelato shop, and ate at Zia's. (Thanks mom and dad for buying our dinner it was delicious!)

Here are a few of the pictures from the trip. Feel free to stop reading and looking at pictures at anytime, family will be the only one that wants to see them all!

Picnic in the park with Aunt NeetNey are so much fun! Aunt NeetNey is so beautiful even when it is 100 degrees outside!!

The St. Louis Zoo is the best! It has great animals, beautiful flowers, air conditioned buildings for the animals who cannot handle the heat, and it's FREE! You read my right, FREE! We loved it so much, we stayed almost three hours with a seven month old!

The beautiful flowers at the zoo.

Coleman had his own personal fan and mister to keep him cool! Plus lots of sunscreen!

The Hippo's are one of my favorite, they always have one hippo that is constantly swimming around the tank.

Just woke up from my nap and being a sweet boy with Aunt NeetNey!

Love this sweet face

The Cardinals game was so much fun and Coleman was wonderful even though his mother walked out of the hotel without a single pacifier. He fell asleep in his daddy lap and slept for a good hour and half.  At first I was hoping he would sleep the rest of the game so we could lay him down when we got home like his normal routine but I am thankful he woke up on his own because he was a happy baby and we were able to get a good bath when we got home. I praise the Lord for a flexible baby! He loves his routine but has been a great traveler so far.

Dedicated Cardinal Fan

Coleman loved his first baseball game!

Cardinal Fans for the day, thanks for coming with us!

The Gateway Arch is a must see in St. Louis. Eric took me to the top of the Arch when we were dating and it was an exciting adventure but I knew that I did not want to take Coleman to the top due to the small cubby hole you get in to make it to the top. Eric and I love the museum at the bottom of the Arch and Coleman loved the talking manikins as well.

NeetNey and B getting ready to go up in the Arch!

Courtney and Brandon after there trip 630 feet to the top of the arch.

Pretending to go up in the Arch

Loving life on the Wagon Train

I wish that I could find the picture Eric and I have in this exact place five years ago, my husband looks the exact same (even the outfit)!

The City Museum: a wild place

Thank you Lord for my Boys, I love them!

Our little Prince

We had a wonderful time on our mini-vacation! We praise the Lord for the time we got to spend together as a family!

Hot Summer Days

When you live in Tennessee there is one thing everyone experience during the summer and it is hot, humid days. Since it's Coleman's first summer I have been teaching him how to deal with hot, humid summer days.....POOL time. It is great for baby because he loves the water and needs some Vitamin D and great for mom to get a little tan.

Our Prescription for a heat advisory is stay inside or in the water wearing lots of sunscreen!

Coleman and I took a trip to Hobby Lobby this week and Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations (Yes, I got ideas for my Christmas trees already going off in my head! I love Christmas!) are already on the shelves. I was telling my sweet husband last night that the Lord is so good that by the end of one season we yearning for next to arrive! I was getting fall fever in Hobby Lobby! I love decorating for fall, too!
