Spring has Sprung!

Well, April started out with a "gotcha" by my five year old.  April first we were outside working  in the yard, and Cameron walks behind me and points at my back and states, "Mom! There's a big bug on your back!"  I turned real quick, (like I could see it) and replied, "There is?"  He started laughing and whooped, "APRIL FOOL'S!"  It has been awhile since I have been really fooled by an April Fool's prank and I got it from a five year old.  Good one.

I celebrated another birthday and Tucker and the kids made me dinner and Angel Food cake with fresh strawberries and whip cream. (Yum!)  Cameron showed Kenna the art of licking the beaters clean...and then double dipping for seconds. (Yuck! for the rest of us.)

Tucker had "cute" help in the kitchen.

Then what I hoped was a belated April Fool's joke...
Turned out to be a dozen "chicks in a box" in my mudroom.
The kids have enjoyed having them...
I love seeing the sense of wonder in their eyes...
And that they are no longer in my mudroom...
After Rudy ran out of the garage with only a foot sticking out of his mouth, twice, Tucker put a screen over the cardboard box and later built a larger box with Macey, for them the live in temporarily...did I mention we don't even have a coop yet?  Oh, in case you were wondering, both chicks survived.  They popped right out of Rudy's mouth after Tucker smacked him on the head and told him to drop it.  I think the girls were more traumatized by it than the chicks.

Happy Easter!
We had Easter Dinner and an Egg hunt at Grandma J's.

All the little cousins with Grandma.

I asked Braden what happen to his hair and he said, it must 'uv got in a fight in the middle of the night.
We are getting there on the backyard landscaping.  We have to get the trees in so we can seed the lawn.  Tucker came home the other day with this 3-4' wide pipe that he picked up free from some place and then buried it for the kids to play in.  He still needs to add some dirt and angle the ends but the kids have already loved playing in it.
Well, that's enough for now.  Madalyn is having a birthday soon.  I'll post about that later.  She'll be thirteen!  Yikes!!
