Life is crazy.
So, mid-November, I came to a breaking point. Financially, I have seriously had ENOUGH. So, Eric and I both anticipated some kind of change coming, I felt it necessary, on top of running the school, to also take on a serving position at a very nice restaurant here in town. Very humbling experience. Although it put me over the edge week after week many times over, I missed the kids and cooking, we learned another good life lesson about the rewards of hard work. Eric had a very, umm... interesting first semester in the College of Ed. ...and it didn't quite end the way we would have wanted it either, but, nonetheless, he is continuing on and as of right now, will graduate December of 2014! I have just put my two weeks into the restaurant and Eric will continue to work there as well now. I am SO happy to be back home again!!!! The school seems to be doing better and better as the years march on. What a first 6 years it has been. Ugh. But, again, what hard work and effort has yielded, has been wonderful to witness first hand. So, we press onward.
Life is crazy.

Holidays 2012
We had a wonderful holiday season, continuing old traditions and starting new!
We have had an angel for the top of our tree since we got married. She is looking pretty sad so Mia so gently requested we replace her this year with a star. Here she is topping our tree this Christmas!
Andy the Elf is watching over the kids each day. Andy flies to report back to Santa each night after the kids go to sleep and when they wake in morning, they have to find where he decides to land and watch them for the day. Super fun!!
Here at church, Mia had the chance to go talk with Santa and tell him her wishes...an American Girl doll.
Is illegal to post pictures if you "catch" Santa in the act? I HOPE not!!! Mia was the only one who we woke to peek around the corner. Something she will NEVER forget!
Christmas morning 2012. Our miracle Christmas.
We were SO lucky to have my family, Aaron and Sonya, Sarah and Zooey, Jason, Grandpa Jeff and Grandma Lisa, all come to stay for Christmas this year. Eric was deathly sick, and despite sending most of the crew back home with the horrible sickness, it was SOOOO much fun to have everyone together!
Now, off to Grandma Alisa and Grandpa Jay's for some more family time!
Dinner and presents at Aaron's house before having to head home.
...a little outdoor hockey over break!

Blanzy Christmas
Christmas Day we headed down to see the Blanzy side of the family and to spend some great time with Nana and Bapa. My nana has been sick with Pancreatic Cancer the last couple of years and we all know that our time with her is precious. It meant a lot to me to have her and the kids see each other as we are grateful for each day we remain on this earth.
Merry Christmas Nana and Bapa.

Nutcracker Ballet
Mia and I spent some MUCH needed time together and attended the Nutcracker. I have ALWAYS wanted to see this ballet and with her starting ballet this year I thought it might be special for her as well.
We spent a lot of time getting ready for this date!
Here we are at the Midland Center for the Arts! Cute as can be!
Intermission, enjoying some refreshments.
She really did very well, for being 4 years old! She kept telling me how beautiful the ballerinas were and how she wanted to be like them when she got big. It was SO fun!!! Something I will never forget!
