I'M GETTTING MARRIED!!!

Yes, it's true! I, Linda Jane Kyle just got engaged to Samuel Eito Yamamoto on September 10, 2010 during our fabulous trip to Ottawa. The engagement was absolutely perfect.

Friday morning before Alli's wedding, we decided to take a morning walk around my old neighbourhood. We walked around my old Elementary School, and some walking paths while I told him countless stories of my childhood and growing up. We decided to end our walk by going to the forest which is just behind my old house. We walked around the forest from start to end enjoyed the bridges, waterfalls, creeks, lookouts, and flowing waters. As we were about to leave to go home we decided to take a few pictures on the bridge which is my absolute favourite spot in the forest. Sam started talking about the future, and future plans for us... and was like "there's only one thing that needs to happen first...", and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! Of course I said yes and he slipped the most perfect ring (that he totally picked out) onto my finger. It was absolutely perfect. I never in a million years would've imagined that I'd get engaged in Ottawa, let alone at my favourite place there.

Wedding plans are underway as we speak! We just nailed down a date today... December 21, 2010 in the Cardston, Alberta temple. Wedding reception to be held that night, and then another reception/party around New Years in Utah. We are so so so excited about starting a new life together!

Enjoy our pictures!

Home to OTTAWA!!!

Sam (and his fresh new haircut and face) and I got to go to Ottawa from a Wed-Sun for one of my bestest friends Alli's from childhood's wedding. The trip was absolutely amazing and unforgetable for so many reasons. I loved so much showing Sam my home city and all the people in my life that mean so much to me. We packed a lot in in our short trip. We went to the National Art Gallery, rode bikes along the Rideau canal, took a trip to Gatineau Quebec, ate dinner with friends, went on a walk in my old neighbourhood, went the the best wedding ever!, had brunch with high school friends, stayed at the fabulous Pipers, toured the downtown market, had Beavertails, walked around the Parliament Building, had a nice stroll around Petrie Island, went to my old Ward's (Chapel Hill Ward) Corn Bust activity, had dinner out downtown, and got to go to church with all my favourite people from childhood. It was the perfect end to an amazing summer. Here are some of the pictures I was able to capture:

Labour Day in the Hoodoos

For Labour Day, we got some friends together and headed to Writing on Stone National Park and enjoyed playing in the Hoodoos and walking along the nature trails all day. Here's some pics!

Northern Alberta!

We got back to Canada with a few days to spare before going back to work, so we decided to take a quick trip and discover our own surroundings. So we packed up again and headed North. We spent time in Calgary, went Kayaking on Lake Louise, saw a Glacier just north of there, went to some Hot Springs in Jasper, saw my cousin Debbie and her family in Edmonton, and I got to go to the West Edmonton Mall for the very first time. Here are a few pics!!!

Utah trip

From DC, we flew into SLC and were able to visit friends and family for a week before heading back to Canada. It was fun to stay with my sister Gene at her new apartment in SLC, go to Kenny's BYU graduation, have a reunion with my previous co-workers at Prosper, spend some quality time with old-roommate Beth who flew in from California, and spend time with some of Sam's friends and family. Here are some pics documenting the week:

Washington DC!

After NYC, we took a red-eye bus trip to Washington DC to see the sites there and also visit Sam's sister and her family who live there. It was great meeting more of his family and getting to spend time with them. Sam has been to DC the past 7 summers in a row, so he was a great tour guide around the city. We kayaked the Potomac, listened to music at the sculpture garden, concert at the Kennedy Center, shopping in Georgetown, National Art Museum, Holocaust Museum, visited various National Monuments, took a bicycle rickshaw ride, and learning a lot about US history. We didn't take too many pictures... but this is what we have!

I Love NY

After Puerto Rico, we flew to NYC, NY and got to tour the city for 3 days. We stayed with my friends Jane and Adrienne who were in my ward at BYU. This trip was AMAZING! I had no idea I would love NYC as much as I did. But I loved it! In just 3 days we were able to see and do so much! Our itinerary included: Time Square, NY Pizza, Rockefeller Center, NY Bakeries, Ground Zero, Riding a Tandem Bike Across the Brooklyn Bridge, Pedicures and Manicures in Chinatown, Pasta in Little Italy, Shopping on 5th Ave, Museum of Modern Art, Empire State Building, Hot Chip Concert in Central Park, and a many many subway rides. I loved everything about this trip. I can't wait to go back... this city is amazing!!! Here are some pics! :)
