Wednesday, June 27, 2007 / 10:54 PM
EMS - a common term used by teachers (esp. Pri sch) to represent English, Mathematics and Science.
Yes. Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. I started teaching EMS today. However, I only managed to give the kids Spelling for their English and it was quite tedious on my part.. Sigh.. Science and Math still not too bad. Guess I really sux at English. But hey! I am trying.. I introduced myself to the class today and allowed them to ask me 3 questions. I tot they would all ask me very personal questions but guess what.. One of them asked me this question.. "What happen if we do not do your work?" Ok.. Interesting! Testing water on the 1st day.. Actually I also dunno how to answer.. Initially, I wanted to tell the boy that I will not give a damn if he does my work or not cos ultimately if he fails to do what were being told of him, he will have to see the Principal for disciplinary action. But I decided to come up with some consequences.. The standard ones like stay back during recess etc.. So dumb! Ya.. And I collected some books from the students which caused me to mark from 3pm to 1030pm! Goodness gracious!! It was so tiring.. But I have to return the books tmr so die die also must complete marking by tonight.. And I just realised that my kids misunderstood the concepts tot by my colleague before she left yesterday. So now, I have to revisit that part again.. Arghhhhhhhh... Ok.. Need to go read up my stuff cos I will be seeing my EM3 class tmr.. How to get them to listen to my lesson?? Science somemore.. I guess this 5 weeks I will need a lot of encouragement from people around.. :( But I will learn to enjoy the process.. Hopefully I can.. Sports Sec Beach Out, SUCCESS!!

Had a great day out at Sentosa with my batch of Sports Secs..
I think the company make a hell lot of difference during a gathering. They are always full of nonsense but their jokes are nonsense is so well received by everyone. I am proud of myself too... But they said I was lame.. During the break time we took after some mini beach games, we went into the shelter to drink water. Underneath this bench was a little cute white doggy sleeping. Sports Sec A: Hey look! There is a little dog sleeping under the table. It sure knows where to take shelter on such a hot day. Sports Sec B: Eh.. So cute.. Me: Wah.. The white dog hides under the table for shades becos it does not want to become tan. (From white dog to brown dog I mean..) Most of the rest who heard my lame remarks: &^#$%^&*(*$$%*( Sports Sec A: *Roll eyes* But I thought it was quite funny leh.. I will post the photos of the gathering here.. In this same post.. Watch out! I am burnt on my face and shoulders and neck.. Starting to feel the pain liao.. Must endure.. Haha.. Very tired.. Go sleep soon le.. Oh ya, I just found out that 2 of my old time crushes are involved in this year's NDP.. Wahahaha.. What a small world!! One of my friends is getting married next year and she is inviting me to be her sister! So exciting.. She said she will make me the leader of the team but I scared later be the big leader den end up I cannot get married cos cannot find bf.. Wahahaha... I hope I will be in good shape when I attend her wedding.. Gambate!! Time Table

Today, I attended the NE Learning Journey for staff in Clementi Pri.
Went to the newly renovated National Museum and I am really impressed by the way they organise the stuff in the museum. Each of us was given a "companion". This is an electronic gadget which allows us to key in the number indicated on the floor of the gallery and listen to the audio explanation of the artefacts or events. So cool.. But it was kinda information overload for us as we were only given 2 hours to visit the History and Living Galleries. However, they only have the companions for the History gallery.. So please dont act smart and ask for the gadget at the Living Gallery k.. After the morning tour in the NMS (National Museum of Singapore, duh!), we took the bus to Asian Civilisation Museum (ACM). Unlike NMS, I felt that ACM was not of much relevant to me. They have a lot of artefacts from Asia but I just dunno how to appreciate them.. But the lucky thing was the activity at ACM was more fun. In order to make us tour around with some purpose, the museum facilitator played a game with us. All the staff were divided into groups of 4 or 5. We were supposed to look at 20 museum artefacts cos we were told to play the role as connoisseurs. After which, with the $50k given to us, we were supposed to bid for the artefacts during the auction. After all the 20 items were bidded, our facilitator changed role from the seller to a curator of a museum, the one who buys the artefacts for the museum. So we were supposed to convince him to buy our bidded items at a good price so that we can make money in the end. And true enough, my group emerged the champion as we made $38k profit after the Buy and Sell.. Some groups ended up making losses.. So we were good connoisseurs, yeah! Kinda enjoyed the process of the auction, it was fun deciding whether should we bid for the artefact.. Not a bad trip after all.. :) Back from Vietnam

Sorry for the lack of post recently as there was nuttin interesting happening..
Have been busy with NDP Rehearsals cos my students are performing this year.. I shall post up some pictures from the New Marina Bay NDP soon.. Meanwhile, I just touched down this afternoon. Been away in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam since Tuesday. Was supposed to be my "grad" trip but in the end realised gotta study for another 2 years.. So the next trip out will be the grad trip then.. Can visit the guys in Aussie if they planning to go there to further their studies.. Will post about my Vietnam trip when I settle with all the necessary stuff and get the pictures from Rachel.. Maybe next week will be out?? Haha.. But one thing for sure is Krabi is still more fun as compared to Vietnam.. Maybe it's the company.. I hope I can go somewhere else for a holiday before the grad trip.. If not I really have to wait very long.. Last week of school holiday liao.. Den I will have to sleep early and wake up early for school.. Sian.. Ok.. Gonna go watch MobTV now for the shows I missed these few days.. Slept the whole day liao.. Oh ya.. Rach called me in the morning and I was still slping.. She was being offered to cross over to do her degree programme..
So happy for her.. Den she asked me to open my letter box to check but I shrugged her off by saying that I dun think I can get it.. But rather be disappointed once and for all than keeping myself in suspense.. I went down to open the letter box.. And.... I got it!!!!!! The letter to offer me to cross over!!!!! I think I am going to accept the offer!!! Yeah... It's really God's blessing.. Thank you. I will work harder in days to come.. |
