Internet Governance Network for Youth in Asia-Pacific
About us
NetMission.Asia is a network of passionate young Asians dedicated to engage and empower youth on Internet governance discourse with the aim to enhance youth mobility and create impact in Asia. Supported by DotAsia Organisation, NetMission.Asia was established in 2009 where students from top tertiary institutes or universities are recruited every year and will be provided with a series of training workshops. We are endeavoring to empower young minds and to constructively contribute to the local, regional and global Internet governance discourse through organizing the Hong Kong Youth Internet Governance Forum (HKyIGF), international conferences and community projects. NetMission was awarded the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2009 at Best Digital Inclusion Award (Service). NetMission.Asia has been actively participating in various Internet conferences both regionally and globally, including ICANN meetings, IGF, APrIGF, Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (APIGA) and the Asia Pacific Next Generation Camp (APNG Camp), etc. NetMission.Asia is currently one of the At-Large Structure (ALS) of APRALO within At-Large in the ICANN community representing the youth voices on the Internet domain name policies. NetMission.Asia is also an active member of the Youth Coalition on Internet Governance (YCIG) in IGF. The NetMission Ambassadors organize the annual Youth Internet Governance Forum (yIGF) around Asia Pacific since 2010 to support and encourage youth participation on Internet governance, the ambassadors have been organising the yIGF in the Asia-Pacific regions, including Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, Delhi, Macao, Taipei, Bangkok and Port Vila since 2010. The format of role-playing the multi-stakeholder discussion on Internet governance in the youth forums are one of the key highlights pioneered by NetMission.Asia that later led to the Model ICANN meetings which are widely deployed.

What is HK APIGA and why should you care? HK APIGA (Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy – Hong Kong) is a two‑day program where students and young professionals discover how the Internet is governed, using AI and creative rights as a starting point. It brings together voices from law, business, tech, design, and the arts to explore who makes the rules for our digital world and how. Over 27–28 March 2026 in Hong Kong, participants will: - Learn the basics of Internet governance and the multistakeholder model. - Hear from regional and global experts on AI, copyright, and digital policy. - Join a Model ICANN simulation, role‑playing real stakeholder groups to debate real Internet policy issues. By the end, you’ll walk away with sharper critical thinking and policy skills, a cross‑disciplinary network, and a pathway to the regional APIGA program in Busan, South Korea. 📅 27–28 March 2026 · 📍 Hong Kong 🔗 Details & registration: hk.apiga.asia #HKAPIGA #APIGA #InternetGovernance #AI #HongKong #Youth
