The New Children's Museum

One of the kids favorite places to go (especially Addy!) is the New Children's Museum downtown. It's a fun museum, because it changes all the time. The kids were particularly fond of the chalk wall on this trip. Here are some (quite oldish) pictures of a trip to the museum. This was when Gran visited us awhile back, so I threw in a couple of her reading to the kids too. I love that my kids have such fun grandparents!

They always have a car or some other metal object for the kids to paint. I was lucky to snap this picture of Cohen, since he painted for appx. 30 seconds. Addy on the other hand, could do it for hours on end!

They have this cute little house with foamy puzzle tiles on the floor, very fun!

The kids did this stamping activity, with apple stamps and then got to hung their apples on a tree.

Addy is ALL ABOUT pictures of princesses, queens, kings, etc. Pretty much everyone she draws is one of those people I just listed.

Addy is all about the silly faces lately, this is one of the favorites!

Cohen's 2nd Birthday!

Can we just go ahead and pretend like Cohen's 2nd birthday wasn't 3 months ago? I am one lame-o blogger once again! I really wanted to get this on the blog before I forget the details. For Cohen's 2nd birthday party we did a dump truck breakfast theme. While I understand that dump trucks and breakfast don't exactly go together, Cohen is a huge lover of anything truck related! As usual, this party was a ton of work but  a whole lotta fun! I would highly recommend a breakfast party to anyone, it was nice to have the party in the morning before kids were cranky and needed naps. It was also nice because the weather was still cool and breakfast foods are super easy to put together. The other thing I would recommend to anyone who stresses over making a birthday cake as much as I do, is serving a doughnut cake. It was great! Just pick up some doughnuts, pile them up, put candles on the top and there you go! Plus, all the kids at the party LOVED it!

Funny story about these hats. I was totally planning to have the kids grab these and wear these when they arrived, but I totally forgot about them until the party was almost over. one of the moms there asked, "Is it okay if the kids wear these?" Duh!

Cohen kept going over to this picture of himself and touching it and staring at it. I don't think he understood what his face was doing on the poster!

It is so hard for my to believe that our little Cohen is already 2! He has been such a fun little man to have around. He has a great sense of humor and loves to make all of us laugh! He is also such a smart little dude and great at talking. He and Addy usually get along and have a lot of fun together. I feel so blessed to have him as my son!

Outdoor (and indoor) Fun!

I have so many pictures sitting on my computer waiting to be posted. I don't know why I haven't just put them on my blog already! We have done a lot of fun outdoor things in the past couple of months that I thought I would share. Nothing too outlandish, but fun nonetheless...

One warmish day back in January we decided to go on a picnic in Lakeside. The kids LOVED it!

Cohen munching on a carrot

This was our view, quite pretty

In February we went to the Model Railroad Museum at Balboa Park. It was our first time there and we had a great time! It's claim to fame is that it's the largest model train museum in North America, which doesn't seem like a huge feat to me considering there are probably not too many model train museums in North America. Pretty impressive nonetheless!

This is Cohen's default look, it cracks me up!

After the museum, we let the kids run around by the fountain a little bit. This is seriously one of Addy's favorite things to do. Every time we visit Balboa Park we have to stop at this fountain and let her run around.

This was just a typical San Diego (or Santee) sunny day, so we went out and enjoyed blowing some bubbles and such.
For whatever reason, Cohen kept standing with his belly out like this.

See!

This is Addy's go-to silly face lately

I'm sure he's saying, "Where Addy go?" Whenever Addy isn't around, that's his favorite thing to ask!

In February we also went with some friends to the Children's Museum downtown. It was just Cohen and his buddy Knox and they had a blast! We will be back soon!
One of my all-time favorite pictures of Mr. Coco, the expression on his face is just precious!

Knox was cracking us up, because he couldn't stop eating the bubble stuff even though it clearly tasted awful! I love the look on his face!
