Colour Me....Creative! #44

Happy Wednesday everyone! Its time for a new Colour Me.....Creative! challenge and this week the design team members get to work with one of two color schemes. I'm using the first color scheme which uses grey, green, and deep purple.  As always, you are welcome to create anything with these colors and add in neutrals such as black, gray, white, kraft, and vanilla.

I decided to highlight the deep purple so I used it for my card base. I die cut a frame (no idea what the name of this shape is!) in white card stock and stamped the blooms from PTI Reason to Smile in Royal Velvet and added the leaves in New Leaf. I dry embossed a frame around the die cut one and added a banner sentiment across with grey card stock scrap.

I added a few of those rainstone embellishments I just got. So pretty in real life - glass like but also looks like a drop of water.

I hope you will play along at Colour Me this week. The Colour Me...! team has made some fabulous cards for your inspiration this week so head on over their blogs and check them out.

Colour Me....Playful! #43

Happy Wednesday!  Wednesday means its time for a new Colour Me.....Playful! challenge  and this week we are using the fun combination of Black, Blackberry, Eggplant, and Cantaloupe. You are welcome to create anything with these colors and add in neutrals such as black, gray, white, kraft, and vanilla.

I created card that highlighted the popular cascade look that I'm seeing everywhere. Papertrey has a Pinterest Board dedicated to it. Take a look.

I stamped one of the flowers from Friendly Flowers in the challenge colors in a cluster at the top and then as if they are falling from the top of the card. I also used generation stamping technique in the cluster. Sentiment is embedded in the falling blooms and I added a few rhinestones for a sparkly touch.

Colour Me....Subtle! #42

Happy Wednesday everyone! Its time for a new Colour Me.....Subtle! challenge and this week we are using the soft color combination of Island Indigo, Soft Sky, and Crisp Cantaloupe.  You are welcome to create anything with these colors and add in neutrals such as black, gray, white, kraft, and vanilla.

For my clean and simple card, I layered two Life is Beautiful die cut butterflies in aqua mist with tropical teal on top and adhered them slightly offset so you can see the antennas.

I layered the butterflies on a scalloped panel of melon berry dotted paper. Sentiment is from Everyday Photo Finishers die and stamps. I'd forgotten all about the Photo Finishers sets so it was nice to bring them out again!

Two for Thursday

Hi friends. Quick share of two cards today.

First card is inspired by this week's Runway Inspired challenge. I love the colors and how she's photographed but of course I could never pull off wearing anything like that!

My card features a panel of flowers from Oopsie Daisy along with a Wet Paint sentiment. The polka dotted card base is from AMuse.

Black enamel dots top off the centers.

Second card is for the CASology inkers cue card SPLATTER

I stamped the sentiment from Reverse Confetti in the bottom corner in black and stamped random colored paint splatters around the word color.

Gotta run. Worked all day at my kids' school today and am exhausted! Hope you are having a good week. Thanks for taking a peek!

Colour Me.....Striking! #41

Happy Wednesday everyone! Its time for a new Colour Me.....Striking! challenge and this week we are using the bold colors Cherry Cobbler and Hello Honey. You are welcome to create anything with these colors and add in neutrals such as black, gray, white, kraft, and vanilla.

Since these colors are so strong and bold, I kept my card simple. I stamped a gathering of vase silhouettes in the corner and added one flower stemming from the middle one and added a simple sentiment. I used the stitched panel dies to create a border around the matted panels.

More Chocolate!

Its World Card Making Day and I was browsing so many lovely cards online today while drinking a cup of coffee and eating some Hershey Hugs (perfect together in case you were wondering!).

I was inspired to make this card using the candy wrapper for CASology's challenge this week.....

I dry embossed stripes on the card front and added the sentiment from Hero Arts that I thought would be perfect with the candy wrapper.

Hope you are having a great weekend and able to create something today for World Card Making Day! Thanks so much for stopping by.

ColourQ #261

Feels like a long time since I've joined in the ColourQ challenge. But these colors were just too fun and autumn-ish to pass up!

I created a split panel card with an assortment of pretty fall peeking out of the middle.  I brought out my old trusty bendable ruler to create the split middle.

Sentiment is heat embossed in white. Think it looks pretty striking in the corner against the brown.

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

CHOCOLATE!

I was very excited to see the new CASology Cue Card this week.  CHOCOLATE is already on my mind this week as I am almost elbow deep in chocolate today.

My daughter's 11th birthday is tomorrow and I made her favorite chocolate covered strawberries and marshmallows for her to bring in and share with her class. I won't say how many I had to sample in order to make sure the quality was good. :)  But trust me, they are delish!

For my card I started with a chocolate ice cream cone. I heat embossed the brown card stock in brown to give it a shiny look. Wish the photo could better show you its glossiness. But then I thought the ice cream cone was a bit lonely and could use some company so I made a shaker card with some sprinkles from the Make It Market kit.

I tried to keep the card clean and simple keeping all the elements in the middle with plenty of white space around it.

Twas my first time making a shaker out of just a plain old die (vs the special shaker dies in the kit) and wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Shaker cards generally take me WAY longer than regular cards but they are so fun and the recipient always loves it. This card is for my 3 year old niece's birthday this coming weekend. I think she'll get a kick out of this card!

One last parting chocolate thought....have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Colour Me.....Monochromatic! #40

Happy Wednesday! Wednesday means its time for a new Colour Me......Monochromatic! challenge this week and it features such a pretty coral color.

I used one of my favorite sets, PTI Friendly Flowers, again to demonstrate how one great set can be used in so many different ways & colors giving you a variety of different looks.  See, no need for a TON of stamps in your stash if you have a few good ones! (LOL, this is what I'll be telling myself when my crafting budget runs dry!)

I stamped Friendly Flowers in Melon Berry on Melon Berry for a tone on tone look.

I heat embossed the sentiment as well as a few flower centers in gold. Heat embossing is my favorite way to add a special element to a single layer card.
