CASology #213 STITCH

Hi crafty friends! Another great challenge at CASology this week!

I wanted to make a colorful 'Good Luck' card for my eldest daughter as she starts a new swim program this fall. She is not a flowery kind of girl so I created a clean and simple graphic card using one of the stitch stamps from PTI Sew Simple Borders.  I stamped a matrix type pattern in a variety of fun colors and added a simple sentiment from Clearly Besotted at the bottom along with a few enamel dots to accent the sentiment.

There are so many stitched stamps and dies out there as well as sewing theme stuff so the sky is the limit folks! Check out what the rest of the Design Team created for STITCH.

CASology #212 FUN

Happy Tuesday everyone! It's time for a little FUN at CASology this week! Well for me, its always fun but its especially fun this week.

For me, I have fun shopping BY MYSELF. No one pulling me in different directions or complaining about how long I take at a store. I love my girls but shopping is most fun alone. Love finding a good deal on a fabulous new handbag (my guilty pleasure second to crafting supplies!) or a cute pair of shoes!

I had so much fun making my card.  I stamped a bunch of colorful heels from the STAMPlorations A Girl & Her Shoes set on a smaller piece of white cardstock already framed with the Wonky Stitches die. Sentiment from the same set in black to keep it simple. I adhered the stamped piece with foam tape so it stands up a little on the white card base. Love the white on white background while the foam tape and stitched frame keep things interesting.

Loads of ways to interpret this word so bust out your favorite fun stamps and get creating! Just remember to keep it clean and simple and have fun! And check out the FUN creations from the rest of the Design Team!

CASology #211 DREAM

Can't believe its mid-August already. The summer is really flying by! And of course, its Tuesday and time for another CASology challenge! This week its DREAM.

Dreams immediately conjure up sky and cloud images for me so I used clouds as a backdrop for this great quote from PTI Building Blocks set.  For my clouds, I used Wendy Vecchi white embossing paste mixed with Ranger embossing glitter in Bridal Tinsel with the Memory Box clouds stencil.

Glittered texture looks so pretty in real life. Here's a closeup -

So what will DREAMS inspire you to create? And before you create, check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the Design Team:

CASology #210 DIZZY

Happy Tuesday crafty friends! Tuesday means a new CASology challenge and we have a fun one today. DIZZY! Hmm....what can we create with this one?

My first thought when I saw DIZZY was being forgetful or out-of-mind. And what happens when you are forgetful? You need to apologize....and so the idea for my card.

I love PTI's Royal Velvet color for serious cards. I heat embossed three feathers from PTI Feather Finery in gorgeous gold along the center of the card, keeping plenty of white space along the margins. Small sentiment is also embossed.

Check out what the rest of the DT came up with for DIZZY:

New to Splatters

So here's my story of my splattered card....

I was so taken by the pretty colors at ColourQ this week that I had to make a second card. For my card, I stamped various flowers from MFT Sketched Blooms along the bottom of a white card panel in PTI Enchanted Evening, Melon Berry, Sweet Blush, and used New Leaf to color in the petals. I nestled the sentiment from But somehow I ended up with two little black ink dots unintentionally. Hmmmm, what to do?

I had already stamped these blooms several times and this was the first one that had no stamping smudges on the flowers (this is what happens to me when I craft until 2am!). In the past I've tried using white gel pen to correct stray ink but have never been completely successful with this correction technique. Then I remembered Lizzie Jones' Mastering Drips and Splatters video from last week's Stamp-A-Faire at PTI. The stray ink spots looked like ink splatters so I thought I should add a few more to make it look more artsy and intentional.

So I created some extra splatters using black watercolor paint and a touch of water using Lizzie's techniques in the video. My problem is that my splatters ended up in the one place I did not want - ON my sentiment. UGH!

Oh well. I still love how it looks overall but that one splatter on the S is killing me! :)

I finished the card off with a strip of Melon Berry striped paper on the bottom of the stamped panel to ground the flowers before adding it to the Enchanted Evening card base.

I'm glad I tried the splatter technique which is so out of my comfort zone and will definitely try again!  So glad PTI gave us an opportunity to try and share our Masters Inspired creations for this SAF remix.  Thanks for popping in! Have a great weekend.

ColourQ #353

Sharing a card I made with the pretty color combo at ColourQ this week. For some reason I am always drawn to color combos that have some blue in it...

My card features a cluster of arrows around the TY sentiment, all from PTI Live Love Life. I used the Tipped Tops dies to add some interest to the two panels on the pink card base.

Finished another card with this color combo and will post soon. Thanks for stopping by!

CASology #209 - Watercolor

Happy Tuesday! We have a fun new challenge for you at CASology this week - WATERCOLOR.
This one promises to be a lot of fun.

For my card, I heat embossed the word HUGS in white on white watercolor paper. I smeared a few ink colors (PTI's Amethyst Allure, Lovely Lady, Enchanted Evening, and Blueberry Sky) on a craft mat and added water to each to use them as my palette for the simple diagonal swooshes I painted over the embossed HUGS.  After it was dry, I added the rest of the sentiment above and below the HUGS.

I layered the watercolored panel with black mat before adhering to the Amethyst Allure card base.

Check out the ways WATERCOLOR influenced the rest of the DT:
