We left Friday September 16 for Lila's first beach trip and our first beach trip since she was born. We left from Pine Bluff around 4:00 Friday night and drove 8 hours to a hotel Pensacola. Lila did really well on the drive down. She read her books for the first couple of hours until we got to Yazoo City where we stopped for dinner at Wendy's and changed her into her PJs for the rest of the ride. We put Elmo in the DVD player and she was out for the night....at least until we got to our hotel in Pensacola at about midnight where she then decided it was time to get up and play. After a night in Pensacola we got up, had breakfast at Mickey D's and made the rest to the drive down to 30-A. Since we couldn't check into our house until 3 we had lunch at the Red Bar and then we to the Grocery and Liquor Stores for necessities. Once we checked in we went for a walk on the beach to see how L liked it and strolled to dinner. Lila wasn't so sure about the sand at first but once she realized she had to get in the sand to get off of the blanket she tolerated it and eventually didn't even notice it. She never hesitated with the water and loved it from the get go. The water and weather were both beautiful the entire time we were there with the exception of big Jelly fish one day.
Here is a picture from the Red Bar and a picture of the carriage house that we rented. It was small but decorated so nicely and a great size for just the three of us. This picture was clearly taken before things were built on each side - including one being built while we were there, which was a little obnoxious.

Our days at the beach were all pretty similar. Wake up, eat breakfast at the house, and hit the beach until lunch and then naptime. Each day during naptime I would do a little shopping and walking around rosemary and Rog would catch up on work and email. Then we would go back out on the beach for the afternoon as long as Lila would let us. One day she got tired of the beach so we went to the pool where she was as happy as she could be. Each evening we strolled to dinner to a different place in Rosemary. Lila would either sit in her stroller and watch Elmo while we ate or sleep through it. The stroll would usually put her to sleep not to mention she was exhausted from full days on the beach. Overall Rosemary was great and the ability to walk everywhere made things so much easier.
Full Beach Day 1
Beach - Day 2
She thought she was posing for a swimsuit calendar in this one...
Headed to the pool....
Day 3
Day 3 we went to the outlet malls because it looked like rain but it really never rained. Oh well we got a couple of good deals and a break from the Sun and Sand. Here are some pictures I took when we got back to the house.
Day 4 - Last Day before we left
Rog's attempt to take a good picture of L - you can barely even see her. I guess he wanted to get some of the local architecture :)
Lila did wonderfully on the long drive home. We woke up and left around 8:00 am and didn't get home until about 7:00. She was a doll as long as she had her Elmo on.
