4th of July festival
Fourth of July festival at Grandfather Mountain in North Carolina.
We celebrated the Fourth of July at Grandfather Mountain with the Basil family (Criag's sister) They invited us to their vacation condo for the weekend. It was great and the kids had the time of their lives. I think I have one of my all time favorite pictures of Liza and Ethan holding hands. They were both a little nervous about all the activities but excited to go do it all, so they held hands most of the morning.
Later that night we watched the fireworks from our balcony. It was amazing to say the least. They were so close I had to go inside with the kids because Liza was terrified of the tremendous booming and shaking that followed.

Special Visitors!
This Spring my brother Eric and his family visited Virginia! We got to play tourists for a while and had a great time. We visited our favorite Frying Pan Farm, Great Falls National Park, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Mt. Vernon (which turned out to be my favorite), National Museum of Natural Science, trails around our house, Herndon Festival and just hanging out around our house. It was fun, crazy, exhausting and a reminder that you don't vacation with children, you go on trips and then get them in bed as fast as possible! It was so fun to see Eric and his family--we miss them so much and wish we were closer!
