The Santa Visit
After Thanksgiving, my sister and I took Nathan to see Santa. He was very excited the whole time, saying "see Santa!", but when we finally got up there, he refused to sit in Santa's lap. We had mislead him, you see. He wanted to SEE Santa, NOT hug Santa. So Mommy sat on Santa's lap, and Nathan sat on Mommy's lap.

Thanksgiving
Baby regression
Long time, no blog. Yes, I know. Working on it. A few weeks ago, Josh informed me that the longer I waited to set up the nursery, the more difficult it would get. So I set things up, minus all the bedding (to keep the cat from setting up residence in there). Nathan found this very interesting, and spent a good portion of time reliving his baby days. He especially liked the play mat...

First Bible Verse
Last week at church, Nathan learned his very first Bible verse! He will, very cutely, recite it whenever you ask him what his bible verse is. Now, how to get him to understand that the Bible has more than one verse?

A little lion
Happy Halloween! We carved pumpkins (punkin!), dressed up Nathan, and Josh took him trick or treating while I handed out candy at home. While Nathan was soooo excited beforehand, he decided just to ride in the stroller and not say anything during the actual trick or treating. Maybe because our neighbor dressed up like a wolf and was jumping out and scaring kids all night...

Georgia-Carolina state fair
The Georgia-Carolina state fair has been going on for the past two weeks in downtown Augusta, and I have been dying to take Nathan to his first fair and take him on as many rides as possible. Because Josh is sleeping during the evenings, Aunt Becky came over to go with us to the fair. Nathan went on his first ferris wheel ride, and then proceeded to ride almost every single kiddy ride at the fair. There were several rides that adults were not permitted on, and Nathan actually rode two rides all by himself! After that, though, he freaked out and refused to ride anything without me or his Auntie. I'm glad, actually...its nice to have my baby around for a little while longer! We saw two shows - a mini circus with tigers and performing dogs, and a clown show. Nathan's favorite part of the evening, by far, though, was the giant slide. We took turns going with him, and he went down 5 times and wanted to do more! It was a very fun evening for everyone.
First Ferris wheel ride (despite the look on his face, he had a lot of fun!)

Pumpkin patch trip
This morning, my Augusta moms meetup group went to Camp Lakeside, a pumpkin patch on the shores of Clarks Hill lake, about 45 minutes from here. We started out with a craft time, where I helped Nathan make a puppet. Next we walked through the woods to the cider press. Nathan got to put an apple into the press and drink some cider pressed straight from the apples. He thought this was very yummy. Then we took a hayride to the pumpkin patch, where they held a story hour by the lake and let all the kids "pick" pumpkins (they were already picked and waiting for us). Finally we took a hayride back to the main area where we ate a hot dog lunch and roasted marshmallows. Nathan had a wonderful time and is still talking about the tractor and the pumpkins :)

A colonial day
So, in my effort to take Nathan to as many festivals and events as possible, I found a colonial times festival at the living history park in North Augusta, SC. My sister came over for the weekend, and we took Nathan around to see all the reenactors. It was very cold and cloudy, and Nathan was fascinated by the fires at every campsite. We got to sample some homemade bread, ate lunch at the "ordinary" while watching square dancing, saw the tavern, meeting house, and spinning/weaving house where Nathan got to play with some "sheep hair". Nathan enjoyed seeing the chickens and the horses, but freaked out when he saw the bear fur stretched between two poles. Then at the end of our trip, we tried our hand at candle making! Some highlights from the morning:

Random Michigan Pictures
To close out this series of pictures of our Michigan trip, I wanted to post some cute ones that weren't part of an event. We had lots of fun this week seeing family and will be sad to go home tomorrow.

At the park
More fun things and fun pictures in Granville: At the park! On Saturday morning, we took a walk down the street to the park near Mike & Carrie's house. The kids had a blast playing on the playground and feeding the ducks!

Children's Museum
After spending a couple days in Spring Arbor, we drove up to Grandville, MI to visit Josh's brothers and families. The first day we were there, all of us took the kids to the Children's Museum in Grand Rapids. Nathan had an absolute blast and threw quite the temper tantrum when it was time to leave. He also took a really great nap that day! There were many many pictures taken, but I had to narrow it down to some of my favorites:
