David is 15 months old!

So I decided to do quarterly updates for David this year, since he's not changing as fast as he did as a baby, but still faster than a pre-schooler :) David is walking well, now, and can propel himself along pretty quickly! To that end, his new favorite game is "run away from Mommy", which of course gets him into trouble! He also loves playing with teddy bears, stacking rings and cups, and anything of Nathan's he can get his hands on. We are trying to teach him not to hit, and I'm sure this is going to be a long process. He understands "no", and when he hears it, he frequently makes a puppy dog face, gives me a kiss, and climbs into my lap for a snuggle. Yes, he is a baby manipulator, but we'll get there. Comes from having an older brother, I think.... He continues to eat and eat and eat, and grow, and progress. Every day is an adventure! (Especially the ones where Nathan gets David into trouble!)

David likes climbing in and out of his bumbo seat:

Shapes!

This month at the art museum, Nathan and David elarned how artists design pictures using positive and negative shapes while viewing the exhibition Will Barnet: Works on Paper. Ok, so Nathan learned. David wandered around saying "hi" to everyone and examining the railing on the staircase. That's all right, he still had fun! Afterward, the kids got to trace and cut shapes from black paper and paste both the positive and negative shapes to brightly colored large paper to make them stand out. Unfortunately, art time at the museum somehow turned into 'Mommy does all the work' time at the museum. Nathan did paste the pieces to the paper - after I put the glue on him. Someday, hopefully sooner rather than later, he will realize that he can do things by himself. Right?

GA Ren Fest 2011

Becky and I discovered the GA Renaissance Fair last spring, and this year we went again (and Greg came too). Nathan was enthralled by the Birds of Prey show, with the Peregrin Falcon flying right over his head. David's favorite part was the petting zoo. He was fascinated by the goats sticking their heads out, asking for food. Most amusing moment of the day: David asks for some of my Sprite, so I decide to put some in his sippy cup. Naturally, he shakes the cup. And Sprite goes shooting out of the top like a geyser. Lesson learned!

First up, pose for pictures! Looks like we forgot to do me and David ;)

Becky and I took Nathan and David down the slide:

Nathan got kissed...

Both kids had fun at the petting zoo:

Seeing the Birds of Prey show was really awesome!

I got some really great pictures at the "parrots of the Caribbean" exhibit:

Seeing double?

Jayna Lee's acrobatics show is one of our favorites!

Fire eating!

David spent the entire show playing with mulch...and spreading it all over me. Ick!

Nathan says his favorite part was the rides:

We saw the Maypole dancing on our way out, but Nathan was too tired to participate:
