This month at the art museum, we got to view the exhibition Civil War Redux, which featured photographs of Civil War reenacters taken with a pinhole camera. For their project, the kids got to do sun prints. They used pictures on transparency paper to cast a shadow on light sensitive paper. After a few minutes, the paper turns white and you put it in water for a couple of minutes. Then you bring it back inside and wait for it to develop. It was kind of hazy that morning, so the prints turned out very very light, and I didn't bother taking a finished photograph. But the kids loved making them, decorating frames, and playing outdoors.
