Grandpa's new toy

My dad bought a 1987 Z car this month.  He was coming through town and let Alex go for a ride.  Alex was really excited to ride in a "sports car"

Piano

We recently bought a used piano.  The boys took no time at all to get their practicing going.  Hopefully it lasts when they really do need to practice.

 Like the ear pull?

It looks nice.  It has been really nice to have a piano to play.  Alex will probably start lessons within the year.

Alex gets a hold of this camera way too often :)

Some random pictures

While I was downloading my pictures, I found a few cute ones.
Alex took this picture. There was a whole sequence of Miles being turned around and around in the office chair.  He must have liked it:)
Dallin got home from work and put right to work.  Alex also took this picture.  You can see a baby foot, somebody is getting a diaper change!
This is a follow up of an earlier post.  Evidence: James is always sporting a goose egg!
Cinnamon rolls for conference weekend.  Alex was a great helper!

Silly Kids

Dallin put Miles on the bed after church while he did something.  When he went back, he had unloaded an entire box of kleenex's.
 Watching the biscuits cook:)
Alex lost his first tooth on Tuesday, Sept 25.  He lost the one right next to it the next morning.
 He was pretty excited!
He took this picture of his tooth.
James and Miles have discovered our pan cupboard.  The love to get them out and put the lids on them.  They also found a new way of playing with them this morning.  They are so silly!

Alex

Alex is a ham.  Here are few of his recent funnies.

I had to subsitute for primary music a couple weeks ago.  Alex was so excited, I wasn't.  I did my best, but had a couple really bad things happen.  When we got home Alex kept saying he thought I was awesome.  A few days later, I was called to be the primary music leader.  I was/am still a little freaked out, but when I told Alex I would be his leader he said, "oh good mom, now you can practice!"

A few months ago while coming out of the church Alex opened the door for a young girl.  As he opened the door he said, "mind if I do!"

We were coming home from Walmart the other night and all the kids were being a little wild, it got quiet for a minute and Alex said, "I remember those days before the babies were born, those were great days.  Nobody to bug us; nobody got on our table."

He was jumping on the tramp last night and wanted me to watch every single trick.  He said, "mom this is my final one.  Does that mean last but not least?"

I bought a costco size box of gogurt last week and he has eaten all of them except one.  He said, "mom, I have been saving this gogurt for generations!"

Snapshot Daily Life

James is always hungry.  He is begging for food all the time at the pantry door.  I finally just gave him the bag of bugles and he was a happy kid!
The kids were playing downstairs for quite a while.  When they came up, Alex had dressed them up with hats and pirate gear.  They were very impressed and loved the attention.  I love that they are starting to grow up and be able to play with Alex.

 James is so stinking cute!

Once their fashion show was over the twins had to crawl up on the office chair and take a break:)
Alex and James playing computer games.
This past weekend was our ward campout.  Dallin and Alex stayed the night.  The next day they shot off rockets.  Dallin wanted to come home, but Alex found out about the rockets so they stayed.  Alex's rocket ended up going the highest.  He is soooo proud of his rocket....his dad is a little too:)

When they got home from the campout Alex was filthy so I sent him to the shower.  He got in the shower and then it was really quiet.  I peeked in his bedroom and he was lying on the floor in his towel, fast asleep.  He was exhausted.  He played so hard at the campout; he slept for 3 hours.  After 2 hours he got up and put on some underwear (inside out), and crawled on top of his bed for his final hour of nap.  What a kid!

Clumsy James

James has zero grace.  The kid is falling all the time.  He just doesn't have a center of balance.  He trips a lot, he falls off everything.  This day was no different.  He was toddling around behind the chair by the entertainment center and fell down.  I went over to comfort him since he was crying pretty good.  When he pulled his head away from my shoulder, this is what I saw.  I was shocked.  I still don't entirely know how he hit his head, but it was a good one.  He has bruises on his head all the time, but this one took quite a while to heal.

Hooded towels

The boys love their hooded towels.  They never want to take them off and love running around the house with them on.  Once they are dressed, they insist on wearing their towels again until bedtime.

Building a fence....family style

This summer we had one major goal: fence in our backyard.  Dallin did the whole thing and he did an excellent job.  I am so thrilled to have a fenced backyard for the kids.  They love it too.
Dallin had a lot of help.  The boys were very interested in the whole process.

James enjoyed the last couple days of freedom and playing on the driveway.

The finished product.  This is one side, the other side looks the same, just a little shorter.  It has been so nice!  Dallin did a great job!

Kindergartener

Alex started Kindergarten on August 27.  He was so excited!  We were all pretty excited at our house.  He was all ready so we took a couple pictures; he wanted a picture from every angle:)

This is our attempt at a family picture with the boys before we went.  We didn't have time to fight the boys to stay still, so this was as good as it got.
When we got there we had a few minutes to spare before the bell rang.  Alex enjoyed some time at the playground, but when the bell rang, he was running to get in line.
Mrs. Plotts, his teacher, putting his name tag on.
 "Bye mom, I love you."
The next day I let him get on the bus.  I was so nervous, and so was he.  It was sort of hectic.  They get on the bus on a major road, so the traffic is all stopped and I felt too nervous about it all.  It was weird to watch the bus pull away with my little boy inside.  Alex was nervous too, you can see it in his face:)

We are now two weeks into the school routine and it has been going great.  Alex gets on the bus at 7:45 and I pick him up at 11:15.  He has really enjoyed it so far.  He is sure growing up!
