one-and-a-half

Camryn. 18 months old.
She is a spunky, punky, sassy lassy.
She screams and screeches and babbles and giggles.
Her vocabulary includes: daddy, mama, Bock, Nana, Papa, ball, Max, Meli, snack and more.
According to Cami, a cow says, "moo." A dog says, "moo." A horse says, "moo,"
and a turkey says "bobble, bobble, bobble."
She loves to sing e-i-e-i-o.
She's a climber and whiner and a smiler and frowner.

Airplanes are captivating entertainment when you're a toddler.

A new summer dress puts a smile on this girl's face! She also has a thing for shoes, popsicles (she calls them "pops"), pink lemonade, the book Goodnight Moon, long walks, bike rides and dancing.

In dinnertime rebellion, Camryn has all but gone on high chair strike and insists on standing up on a chair and eating from the table....or, from everyone else's plate. Then, she has the gall to look smug and say "mmmm..." as she polishes off the last of someone else's dinner.

We totally and completely smitten with this diva girl of ours! I think we'll keep her!

Homelessness and Other Happenings

It's been two weeks since we signed away our house of ten years and turned in our keys.
Moving really is a hellish ordeal and we're only "halfway" through this endeavor. You see, our house is under construction and we're basement dwellers until the end of the summer when we can move into our new place. Its difficult to call our basement apartment "home" because we're still living out boxes and will continue doing so for the next ten weeks.
Ten weeks?
Oh my.
But there is a light at the end of this tunnel. This week, Clarke had I chose all our flooring, paint, hardware and lighting for our new house and we're almost homesick for a house that has yet to be built.
Ten weeks....ten weeks....t-e-n--w-e-e-k-s....

Here are just a few of our choices for the new house...

In other happenings...

Cousins Travis and Libby came over to play the morning before our big move.
Cami and Libby were playing in Cami's room, when, by chance, I caught them playing dress up. I literally had to sneak up on them to get these shots!

The kids had a blast demonstrating many uses for cardboard boxes.

Toothless Trav.

The basement apartment we are renting belongs to Clarke's parents, so we have plenty of time to traipse about their acre backyard. Safety nets were put up around the pond and pool to keep a certain toddler safe.

Brock received an award at his school's awards night. He mastered 1st grade addition and subtraction, 2nd grade addition and subtraction, and Brock almost conquered multiplication by the end of his 1st grade year. He is our little brainiac and we are super proud of our boy!!! He was also terribly sunburned (bad mom moment of the month) following his school's field day--hence the pink cheeks and swollen eyes.

Breakfast of (first grade) champions: mini bagels and peanut butter!
The last day of first grade was one of unbridled excitement for Brock.

Another perk about our current location is unlimited use of grandma and grandpa's pool. The kids and daddy LOVE it! The pool is used so often by our crew that Clarke had to construct a mini-mud room in our mini-bathroom to accommodate all the soaking swimsuits and beach towels!

Brock, our part-fish child, would swim all day and all night if we let him!
