happy merdeka day

Happy birthday Malaysia!! You are 52 this year :D
There’s a saying that sounds ‘Don’t think what your country can do for u, but what you can do for your country’.

Hmmm… Let me see, dear Malaysia, what I can do for you:

a. Vote for the right people to lead us to horizons of success.
b. Be a good citizen.
c. Equip myself with better knowledge and confidence.
d. Contribute and pay back to charity.
e. Recycle. Protect the environment and maintain green in Malaysia.
f. LOVE THE COUNTRY :)

bedroom transformers

I guess it's the sense of responsibility or feeling or guilt since i poured tis out in my blog the day before yesterday, i really managed to tidy up my room today. In fact, it was a great transformation!!

I ve 'kicked' my pc out of my room and moved it to our secondary living room. Shifted my bed as well to create more space. Wanted to move my desk at first, but thinking that it's going to be rather inconvenient if it were to go near my dressing area. So in the end it was maintained at its initial position. But one thing is for sure, my room is so much more spacious and comfortable now..

Books were arranged nicely. Papers recycled if necessary. Cleaned my closet too. And rearranged my teddy bears and kitties on my bed. Hmm.. That's the little pinkie bedroom.

In the midst of cleaning, i browsed through all my old cards in my little basket. Birthday cards, new cards, farewell cards.. It was quite a sad thing that ecards and sms have almost replaced greeting cards ya. Personally i would definitely prefer greeting cards, n i enjoy keeping them. So that when i reread them one day (just like today), i cant just stop laughing loudly.. Ummm in if u r keen to see what these ppl wrote in the past, when they were stil young and playful, zoom in :)

#1: A card from han chow during 2002..
#2: My 2002 favourite card!! Very meaningfully written by siew lin =P
#3: Another card from yu ying, also during 2002.. Who prefers to regard herself as 'blind pig' :D
#4: Two consecutive birthday cards from my 4th 'kakak'.. Reminded me of her sesame street hairstyle and the way she ran to the doorstep whenever we called her..
#5: The latest 100% hand made birthday card from my two little 'brothers' this year!!
Im going to bring many of them to uk and hang them up on my walls and shelves so that i can remember all the great moments all the time. I can imagine how cheering and sweet they would appeal to me.

Sweet dreams sleeping in my new bedroom tonite =)

little bedroom

I really hope that i could be adamant enough to tidy up my room tomorrow. For the past 2 weeks, mum has been constantly nagging me to clear up all the mess. Books, wires, bottles and papers were scattered all around my desk and computer table. And my wardrobe too!! Haha.. I wanted to clean them too. I guess it's just laziness...

I could spend hours in front of the tv or my lappie but not in my bedroom (excluding sleeping). Why? Why? Why? I guess i need a good beating or scolding =P

Sigh. I wish that i could get it done tomorrow.

sparkling with crystal

"I ve finally met up with u!!" That's the first sentence that popped into my mind when i saw the long hair, fair complexion lady standing in front of me at the centre court this afternoon. Seriously, the last time we met is during xmas last year, and we had great fun playing at genting.. Oh wait, so it's almost one year, not one year, did u see tis??!!! Pheww...

We had our lunch at Oh Sushi in which we shared two main courses and a side order.

The spicy ramen.. Supposedly spicy, but suprisingly, non-chilly-fans like crystal still likes it.. Meaning it's not spicy laaaa.. :D
The unagi set.. The chicken (bottom right) actually outperformed the unagi.. We shared stories of each other, asking bout others, etc etc. Im glad we did not lose touch after all. We went on a shopping spree, but it ended up window shopping.. I just duno why i dont see anything that caught my eye tat day. Disappointed.. I was expecting to take a beeline to home with a handful of shopping bagss.. HAha.. Next time, next time..

In accordance with the montrous sale, there were little monsters around.. Hence we became big monsters running around snapping photos with them.. :D

They look cute rather than scary to me =P
Ooooppss.. Or maybe only that one.. THis looks a bit scary...They were found everywhere.. Standing on floors..
'flying' above our heads..
... even hung onto the 'trees'..
Weeeee.. N thx to a malay girl who took this for us..
I ve actually planned for my kuching trip, again and again it was delayed due to all sorts of circumstances.. I thought that this time would be perfect alas, but the aH1n1 is just too unfriendly to block my way. Hmm.. I hope that this wish can be realised soon, and three of us can meet up again ya, WENDY (i hope you hear me... )!

ps: Have a safe flight, crystal..

Friendship Forever!!

the long awaited...

The previous nite was a fantastic dinner at Chilis with my colleagues.. To be more formal, my seniors or superiors.. Nice food, cracking jokes, soothing environment.. And honoured enough, i had both sides of farewells: with my own company and with the client company -- CIMB :D

It's not that i do not enjoy my internship at all. Although at times, i felt myself more like a display than a contributive individual. I felt wasted if im not fully utilised. ^o^

But there were so much to learn in the 1.5 months. I gained insight on real working life out there and job scopes of different occupations. I guess i have a clearer idea for my career path after this. Besides that, I am very glad to get to know a bunch of colleagues who ended up being close friends of mine..

Sze mun.. My always-helpful-and-hardworking supervisor.. Patient and capable career lady.. Extremely grateful to her for always being so helpful, patient and protective. Hehe.. Both of us did our a levels in sunway, yayyy :D
Grace & Hooi Teng... Grace is a very close friend of mine albeit we were of different nationalities. Hooi Teng is my kampung-mate (both of us are from klang) who is always kind enough to send me a lift home..
The singaporeans from left, Dan and Patrick.. Always craving for nice food.. N on the right, Ken, he's malaysian ya.. An intern of CIMB..
Of course this would be a never-ending list.. Frankly, the last day was slightly depressing..

Anyway, great thx to accenture for providing me this opportunity to open my eye and step into the working world. I ve always thought that studying was tougher than working, as you do not hv assignments and exams. But now, i knew it was the contrary. And i will remind myself to appreciate and utilise my study moments as they will always be the best. Just like my secondary time :)))

ramblings of an intern

Please forgive me if im rambling about nonsense again. I just cant help it. After 1.5 months, i ve finally completed and survived for my internship!! As long as im alive tomorrow :D

This is a record or an account for me so that i would never ever forget this experience, although i know i wont.

First hand experience:

- Office was almost igloo temperature. Too cold that it was so uncomfortable to work. Crazy enough, ppl wear sweaters and scarfs so that they would not be attacked by flu, esp the Ah1n1.
- Chewing gum craziness. I guess the amount of chewing gum i ate for only this month is at least equal or even exceed the amount of chewing gum that i ve eaten for the past 20 years. N i ve turned out to be the chewing gum supplier in the office. I have pellets, i have sticks, i have mints.. -.-ll - Ktm days. Running after a train, climbing high steps, being squeezed like a sandwich in crowded rides, walking hurriedly, grabbing seats. Worse if im wearing the thin, knee-lengthed skirts tat day.

- N the high heels coupled with long distance of quick walking has drew blisters and bubbles on my feet.

- I witnessed real world of working. Flexible working hours (start late, end late), but here, they work til midnite, often. Fortunately my bosses are kind enough to release me around 7, so that i can have mummy's dishes for dinner.

- There are free twisties, biscuits and coffee in the pantry!! - The toilets are executive style.. One consists of a bathing space and a toileting space. Then with a big mirror and ample space for you to check your attire.

- On a bright note, the ppl here are generally nice, and humorous. Kind to help, willing to share knowledge and experience, at the same time, committed in work.

- And on a even brighter note, they brought me around to try lots of delicious food around this area, which i ve nvr been. I like kin kin pan mee, yuk kee chicken chop, mamak style briyani rice.. etc etc. N thx to lunch times, they keep ppl moving forward to work and motivating :D

- Im glad that i do not observe organisation politics here.

- Another thing, with every employee given a laptop, paper usage should have been reduced. But i got the shock in my life when i see how much paper a firm uses every day. You do not count in piles, u count in bags!! N when they are forced to shred it instead of recycle it, i felt deeply sorry to the environment =(
Yaayy, farewell tomorrow :D

#7: Random pictures around the setting.. Did i tell u? It was held at Nyonya Kitchen, Bayu Perdana =) To me, the overall setting was not too bad. Hv a closer peep at the photos (you are very welcomed to scroll up again), the decor was actually done by the birthday girl's mummy and her herself. Everything was hung up like few hours b4 the event. Fortunately it turned out to look nice.

Apart from that, we had a lovely and hilarious presentation created by my sister that nite. Everyone was cracking and giggling seeing the fatty girl (obviously me), esp in her bikinis..
Also, we had a simple but warm sharing session..
