Yayyy, Term 1 officially ends now. Wasnt really a very good 'closing ceremony' i would say, thanks to the finance paper again. Im unsure if u guys have the same experience, but the examinations here, especially objective questions, werent fun at all! The way they set the question was just so cruel and unkind.
In Malaysia, usually our questions sound like tis:
Eg. Question 1: Given Yunyun has 10 apples, she gave 3 to yunmin. How many apples does Yunyun still has?
A. 6
B. 7
C. 8
D. 9
Basically, once u perform ur calculations as the question stated, you would be able to get ur answer immediately. And here it goes, option B is circled and u proceed to the next question.

But in UK:
Eg. Question 1. Given Yunyun has 10 apples, which of the following is false?
A. If she gives 3 to yunmin, she still has 7 apples.
B. If she buys another 4 apples, she will have 14 apples.
C. If one can be sold for rm2, she will end up with rm8.
D. If one crate can accommodate 5 apples, she needs 2 crates.
E. Assuming the apples are either green or red, if there are 4 red apples, there will be 6 green ones.
See? Instead of calculating or answering just 1 question,
u r actually answering 5 questions!!! Note that there r 5 options instead of our classical A, B, C & D. Worst, the time constraint was just fairly unreasonable. In Malaysia, u will be given sufficient time to do, to check and even to
re-check. Here? It's more of a 'luck' test, assessing ur luck for the day, as most of ur answers were mainly derived from guesses as u could not finish them, rather than a real test that tests ur understand and ability.
I dont know. It's sort of the 'beauty' of setting exam questions. Perhaps some of u could tell me if all universities are like tis. I just dislike it in a way tat ur preparation doesnt breed desirable fruits of success.
Anyway, it's over now.
Look ahead!!
