Christmas 2007 in Beaumont

Merry Christmas from The Lowerys. We were a little late on mailing out Christmas cards this year, so I guess this is the next best thing. We hope all of you had a safe and happy holiday!

On our way to my parents house in Beaumont, I took a great picture of Hagen in the car. The drive was long, but we found ways to past the time. Most of it spent spoiling Hagen with back scratches.
While we were in Beaumont visiting, we got the chance to visit with Jenn, Trav, and Madison Clegg. It has been over six months since I have seen Madison and my how she has grown. She is crawling now, army style. Trav is so proud of her crawling style!
Madison is also pulling up on anything she can get her hands on, but she is a little unsure of taking steps by herself. A few more months and I think Jenn will be chasing her around the house.

Here we are all together at Theresa and Stevo's house. It was so nice for Drew to finally meet Trav, Teresa, and Steve.

Well, my parents were a little behind the ball this year on hanging their Christmas decorations, so Drew and I lent a helping hand. Drew helped Dad with the lights while I was inside decorating the tree.

Aidan, Melissa and J were not arriving until the next day which gave Dad and Drew some time to put together Aidan's Christmas gift. We wanted it charged and ready to go on Christmas morning for the little guy.
Christmas Eve afternoon was really busy getting ready for everyone to come over for dinner. Drew and I had a blast baking my extra special lemon sugar cookies.
Here is my assistant dusting the cookies with powdered sugar. Great job honey!
Austin was a silly as ever on Christmas Eve. He will be going into pre-kindergarten next year. I cannot believe how fast everyone is growing up.
Aidan a J took a moment to play with Aidan's new pocket size magnadoodle. That kid loves those things. I thought this was a really sweet picture of the two guys.

Well, the magnadoodle makes another appearance. Aidan wanted me to play too!
Christmas Eve this year brought back a lot of childhood memories for me. The next generation of Lovois are getting into presents and growing up. This is what my grandparents house looked like about 20 years ago. Grandma and Grandpa would be so proud!

Christmas Eve night was so special because not only were the Lovois there, so were the Stanleys. Here is Mom, Jodi, Abby, Elisa, Aunt Faye and Uncle David.

Here are some of the Lovois. Mel, Wyatt, Mom, Me, Aunt Liz and Shelle.

Drew and I took a moment to take a picture before midnight mass.

Merry Christmas morning! Aidan and Taddy were catching up on some sugars.

Before we opened gifts, Aunt Jenny and Aidan took time to play on the Thomas the Train website. Aidan will walk up to the computer desk, climb in the chair, and say Tau, Tau until someone comes and plays with him.

Aunt Jenny slepted on a blow up mattress that made a great bouncy bag for Aidan. Jenny would jumped, Aidan would fly, Taddy would catch. It was too cute!
Here are Daddy and son wearing matching Madrid soccer jerseys they got for Christmas from Santa.
One of Aidan's other favorite gifts was his drum. This child loves listening to the Aggie Band, so a drum of course made complete sense. Ask Melissa and J and they may disagree with you. We will put on Aggie Band and Aidan will bounce and bang for you!
Take a second to watch this video. Aidan is an Aggie Drum Major in training.
The best was saved for last for Aidan. Remember the gift that Drew and Dad were putting together. Well, here it is. A Lowe's NASCAR powerwheel complete with reverse and forward capability. He went crazy when he found it he could make it move on his own.
Here is Drew helping him find the gas pedal.

Aidan had to give Mommmy a ride. Of course, we did not go far because Melissa has a baby on board. The picture was so sweet! We had a great time visiting with everyone this Christmas and now . . . Drew and I are going to take some time to relax before we go back to work next year. Happy New Year's!

Christmas Decorations and Parties

Drew and I are really excited because this year is the first time for us to really decorate our house for Christmas. I decided to get creative with the Christmas Tree top with a mix of red flowers and pheasant feathers.

Here is the finished product. I must have been nuts to get up the Friday after Thanksgiving to go shop for a tree, but Hobby Lobby had exactly what I was looking for. Looking for a tree, Hobby Lobby has them 50% off right now.

Drew and Hagen take a rest after the hard work.

Drew and I headed to Houston for a visit. Mom and I took advantage and went Christmas shopping. Hallelujah, Laurie is finished with two weeks to spare!

We got together with a few of our couples friends a threw a Christmas party last Thursday night. It was a wonderful party with great food, drinks, and friends. Here are the girls. Starting top left: Me, Crystal Martin, Talley Bergfeld, Ashley McCain, Melinda Tefteller. Bottom left: Blythe Loggins, Melissa Peveto, Julie Lo Vanderpool, and Melissa Jackson.

Melinda Tefteller and the soon to be Blythe McCain stopped to snap a pic. Melinda is expecting her first baby. We cannot wait to meet the little one!

Ashley, Melissa and I sharing a smile. Sorry Melissa for spilling the champagne.

In Junior League provisional I met the most amazing girl. Her name is Julie Pope and her and her husband, Colin, are new to Tyler from Plano. I have really enjoyed getting to know her over the past few months.

Ashley Washmon and I had the black color scheme taken care of. She recently married Wade Washmon in a suprise ceremony in Dallas. The guests arrived without knowing it was actually their wedding. Pretty sneaky Ashley!

It is weird, there are so many of our friends that are newly married. Meet Shaun and Kim Lowery (no relation) just recently married last month. (Right) Amanda Fender just recently married her hubby Hammond this summer.

Say cheese: Melinda and I toasting the holiday. Of course, no alcohol for the Mommy-to-Be. I have no idea what James and Cris are talking about in the background, but it must be pretty funny.

Thanksgiving at the Deer Lease

Sorry for the delay in posting these pictures. Drew and I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving as we did. We headed out to our deer lease in McCullough County. For those of you non-hunters, that is about 1 and a half hours North of Fredericksburg. We had a great time visiting with Allison, Byron and the girls. We had a minor mishaps with my digital camera, so these pics are taken with my 8mm.
Hagen had a great time practicing his retrieve in the pond. We are almost ready for duck season!
Here he is in action. Pretty good shot if I do say so myself. More pics to come . . .

Aidan's 2nd Birthday and Other Pictures

Happy 2nd birthday Aidan! Mom and Dad's family came to the house to celebrate Aidan's birthday and eat Mom's famous gumbo.

Cousin Braedon, Melissa, JW, and cousin Austin helped Aidan blow out his birthday candle.

Aidan's new thing is Thomas the Train, so Melissa made train cupcakes for all the kids to decorate at the party. Aidan and I chowed down on the finished product.

Cousin Caroline, Cousin Wyatt, and Cousin Austin all joined in on the train cupcake decorating. Wyatt was not very excited about the icing, but Caroline and Austin were not shy with the icing on their train cupcakes. Both were on sugar high all night (sorry Jimmy, Shelle, Jeremy, and Jennifer) They loved there engineer hats too!

Those of you that have children have probably heard of Baby Einstein by now. Well, there is DVD out there that is the same concept, but it is called Baby Aggie. Aidan wakes every morning asking for this video. His new phrase is "aggie band, aggie band" He is by far the biggest Aggie fan in training out there!

Pop made a children's play table top for all of Aidan's Thomas the Train tracks and engines. JW spent all last night putting together the bridge and terminal for the table. Every three minutes Aidan yells out "all a board" and giggles. He loves his gift from Tatty and Pop (Tatty is Aidan's name for Mom).

Earlier in the week, Tatty and Pop gave Aidan his first cozy coop. He loves to go up and down the driveway in his new wheels!
Aidan was Handy Manny for Halloween this year. His buddy LJ was Diego from Dora the Explorer. The had a blast going trick or treating then going out to dinner from some Mexican food.

Surprise!! Aidan is going to be a big brother in July 08. Yes, Melissa and JW are pregant with their second baby. Everyone is so excited and we cannot wait to see if we have a new baby girl or boy on the way! Congrats J and Mel!
