Drew and I headed to St Lucia to celebrate 5 years of married life. This was our first time taking a long trip without Luke. We missed him terribly, but we know he had a great time with Mimi and Papa. It was funny, the airport was hour and a half from the hotel so we had a journey on our hands. Well, you start worry when before you leave when the driver says, "anyone get car sick". Oh my lanta, the roads are tiny, partly washed out by the rain, they drive on the opposite side as the states, tailgating is viewed as good driving, 500ft cliff drop off on each side, and windy roads that would make your head swim! Drew and I almost lost it twice, but we were able to brave the trip and get to and from the airport safely.
This was the walk to our room from the main pavillion. The hotel was wonderful, gorgeous views, and first class accomodations.
View from our balcony. Our suite was pirched on top of a cliff. It was so breathtaking waking up to this view everyday.
Sunset from the main pool at the Pavillion.
Sunset from our room.
Dinner over the water was wonderful and super yummy!
St Lucia is know for the Grand Pitons which are two large volcanoes. We took an excursion one day called Joe Knows. It was absolutely awesome. We took a boat tour of the island, headed to a volcano, hiked to a waterfall, ate local cuisine and snorkeled.
Another view of the Pitons.
One neat thing we did was take a mud bath at the volcano. It was a little gross at first, but the water was super hot and so soothing!
Up next, the beautiful waterfall.
Bathing in the mineral baths at the waterfall.
Drew talked me into snorkeling on our trip. As most of you know I am terrified of open water and just ocean/lake water in general. I had a blast and hope to do more of this, possibly scuba on our next trip!
Say cheese!
Sea urchins
Meet our Ohio friends the Adairs. They were on their honeymoon and we had a super time hanging with them on the trip.
Say cheese Holly and Mike.
Last night on the island.
Our trip was incredible and we are making plans to go back. If you ever have the chance to head to the British West Indies make sure to go. The views were gorgeous, treatment was first class, and ocean beautiful. I love you so much Drew and cannot wait to see what our life brings together. Thank you for a wonderful 5 years babe!
