L: Last minute decisions
Happy Thanksgiving or better yet, Happy Shopping! Thanksgiving was real laid back for us. I cooked sweet tater casserole and broccoli-cheese rice casserole, 2 of my ole time FAVS for any holiday. We bought a fried turkey from Cock of the Walk, YUM! And then got a ham from Honey Baked Ham thanks to ACH. It's almost 8a as I write this and I am eating some of the sweet tater casserole and a diet coke as I write this. You gotta love left-overs. Then we headed over to my parents around noon. We ate, went shopping, and I soaked my mind in the new book I am reading, Twilight. In no way am I one to like sci-fi or whatever title this book would fit under, but the book is GREAT! It's an easy read, so easy that I have finished 300 pages in 48 hrs. I will be finished by the weekend is over and hope to see it in the theater by Sunday! Can't wait! Anyhoo, back to my last minute decisions....... I love them! We decided, not long ago, to head to Branson for the weekend. We made our decision on a Thursday night and headed out Friday. I love doing stuff like that. Then, of course my mom asks the big question, "You wanna go shopping today?" SURE! We decided last minute to fight the crowds today. I already know I will have a great time with her and it will put is in the Christmas spirit even more. Then later this afternoon, we are going to the Christmas tree farm to cut down our tree. Our farm is offering a petting zoo this year. I know the kids will love it. For you locals, we are going to Motley's out I-30. Ya'll have a great black friday and don't buy too much or better yet don't eat too much!

U: Ultimate punishment
What a weird one I know, but a month ago we had a 26yo newscaster murdered here in LR. It was scary and her wounds were severe and horrid. Last night her murderer was captured. I can't believe it! Our city kept the info a secret and I wondered if he would ever be found. Last night on the 10 o'clock news, his picture and name was released. Around 11:30p a tip was given to police and he was arrested. You can read more info here.

F: Food, Fun, & Fellowship
I feel like this is a typical response to F but it is the truth! You can't get anything better than good food, great friends, and sincere conversations. Last night we went to the Henderson's for dinner. They have 2 kids about the same age as ours. We always have a great time over there and it just feels like home for all of us. For some strange reason, the kids play the entire time without fighting. Did you hear that? Without fighting. And in between conversation, we are chasing kids, changing diapers, making dessert, chatting about our day, watching funny videos online, cracking way too many jokes, and cleaning up. It just feels right. Our friendship comes very easy and we feel as though we have been friends for years. Thanks Penny & Jeremy for hosting us and we look forward to many more meals together! We love you guys!
The top 2 pics were taken last year. I remember Jonas not feeling well.
The bottom 2 were from July of this year. In order, Ethan, Reese, Jonas, & Abby

K: Kiddos
Of course my kids would be part of my thankfulness!!!!!!
It really is such a joy to be a parent. There are times when I think I am not cut out to be a mom and others when I think it's pretty easy. Overall, it is worth every emotion even when I find myself in that "worry" state almost all the time! One thing that Reese does every single day is "steal" something that Jonas is playing with and then takes off with it wanting someone to chase her. She has already done it this morning with Jonas' fork from breakfast. She does it all the time. It's actually very funny but can be annoying to Jonas. The latest news with Jonas is that he slept in his big boy bed for the first time last night!!!!!! He has a twin trundle that I lowered to the ground a couple of days ago. He and Reese have been playing on it and last night he decided (with my help) that he wanted to sleep in it. I put Reese in his crib and Jonas in his new bed, allowing them to be in the same room. An hour later Reese was crying and yelling, "Get out!". After putting her back in her crib, Jonas got up several times from his bed. A couple of hours had passed and Jason and I were thinking.... we haven't heard from Jonas. Wonder if he fell asleep in his bed. This is what we found!
Sound asleep! And he remained asleep all night. This morning around 8 he came into my bedroom. I had been concerned that he might get up in the night and start playing. We are so proud of him, but saddened that he is growing up!

N: Natural State aka Arkansas
Even though MS has my heart, I do love Arkansas as well. What a "beautiful disaster" (great song by Kelly Clarkson) it has been since we have been here. Special memories that make it worthwhile: Arkansas Children's Hospital (BTW, I love my job), The Summit Church, Lewie, Bevin, our first apartment, our first house, Jonas, my parents moving here, Reese, new friends, new church family, Jason's new job. The not so great: Jason not finding the right job for the first 5 years, my dad losing his left lower leg, being 8 hrs from the most precious people in the world. BUT if you don't have the "not so greats" in life, it wouldn't make everything else so special. So, we thank God for the rough situations we experience that allows us to see the beauty in Him.
p.s. We still don't say "woooo pig soooie" in this house-hold! GO EAGLES!

A: Artwork
I really enjoy painting when I can with such a busy schedule. Thanks to my daddy for passing along his creative gene. Painting is something I love to do and have found many friends that enjoy the same thing. Lately I have come up with the idea to do a seasonal painting including the childrens' hands and feet. I did a pumpkin one in October and now working on our Christmas one. Here is a picture of "Autumn Blessings".

H: Health
I thought really hard about what I wanted the H to be. I sat in bed not able to sleep with my mind running fast around me last night. I was thinking of to-do lists, work, our children, Christmas, etc. I know you know what that is like. I also thought about the H and one of the first words that came to mind was Holiday. I do love the holidays, but the longer I thought about it, health just seemed perfect to be thankful for at this time. Due to my job, I see unhealthy little people all the time and I must say my family has been fortunate so far. We are healthy, all 4 of us right now. But I have to think that everything happens for a reason. And when circumstances fall on our family, we will dwell in the Lord for help. Here is another family that has done just that. You will be touched to read this father's blog about his 5 yr old that has been diagnosed with cancer. They are from MS and go to St. Jude for treatment. He updates daily, so come back and visit his site when you can. Read more here.

One of my dear friends (on her blog) is taking the word THANKFUL and providing a word with each letter that is meaningful to her. I thought I would do the same, especially since Thanksgiving is around the corner and we have MUCH to be thankful for.
T: Together
I think this word has many significant meanings for me. One is that I am with a man that I love and enjoy to be with, and it seems that is hard to find these days.
The few friends I have that are close to my heart also come to my mind. I guess there are more than just a few.
And then there are my parents that live close by and we find ourselves together 3-4 times per week. But you have special moments when you only see your family a couple of times per year. I find those 'together' moments very dear due to us living far from them. I am thankful for the times we are with friends and family surrounding us in heart, spirit, and many miles away.
together soon after reese joined our family
together as a bunch of wild and crazy reindeer
together making us a family of 3
together mourning the death of my grandfather
together with best friends
Together with eyes closed once again Pops :)
In no way can I capture all my 'together' pictures of everyone I love and that my family loves. These are just a few that I came across quickly while Jonas was napping and Reese was playing well by herself.

Update on something we call L-I-F-E
Here's the hubs doing something he enjoys about 5 times a year. Smoking his pipe. He was asking me to take shots of him for his myspace. I love my kooky husband. He is one of a kind and so very special to me. We celebrated 5 years on November 1 and it has been the BEST 5 years of my life. I love you hubs!

Here are the kiddos playing in my mom's car on Sunday. Jonas LOVES playing in her car!!!!

Here's a list of what is going on or what has happened in the past couple of weeks.

USM Homecomeing, MS trip part III
Saturday morning, we headed to Hattiesburg to cheer on the Eagles and visit with friends and more family!
This is Sarah and Jonas as we are buying USM gear at Walmart!

Jonas & Reese had coordinating outfits. It's something I love but rarely do. I hope to do more of it this season! These pics are at the BSU where Jason and I met some of the most wonderful people in our lives!

This is Kris holding his daughter, Ann Elise. You can visit them here.

Jonas thought this was cool to "drive" the cart!

After tail-gating, Jason along with the kiddos drove to the coast to be with his dad and step-mom, aka Nana & Pops! I had the camera with me and didn't even realize it, so we don't have pics. They had a great time eating at J's fav taco place, Taco Sombrero. Jason said his parents had a blast with the kids and had bought them the coolest toys! Thanks guys for helping J while I was having some much needed quality time with my bestest friends. Thank you Sarah, Elizabeth, Sharon, and Marie for spending time and loving all over me. I needed it more than you know! Breanne, wish we could have spent more time together! Miss you! Presley, I LOVED our mommy convos and needed the advice. I feel like I am having a better week already. I even attempted taking both kids to Wal-mart today (Monday) and it was fine!

Happy Halloween, MS trip part II
Laura (hippy), Grandma Doreen, Jonas (train conductor), Reese (fairy) and Jason

Something scary and Reese was sure scared of him!

We went to the perfect spot for our Trick-or-Treatin'. It was this street with adorable homes that were decorated with tons of Halloween & fall attire. The street was closed from traffic and it was like a movie scene with kids running about in their cute costumes. Jonas found this pumpkin decoration and had stopped to stare at it. Priceless picture!
Our Mississippi Trip!!
What a blessing it is to go back home (to Mississippi) and be with the best of family and friends. I absolutely LOVE it. We were able to see lots of friends this trip even if it was for a few minutes! One of the most special moments we had was meeting Brooklynn Rose White for the first time. She is our neice born this past April. Unfortunately, she was sick and even had to go to the ER for her high fever. It was still special to meet her and we hope you get to feeling better soon!
Inside joke.... Brooklynn's onesie dedicated to her momma! We love you Jennifer!

Jason's mom drives a school-bus and the kids had a blast playing on her bus!
When we first arrived to MS, we stayed with my Uncle Buddy, Aunt Susan, and Mamaw Dorothy! Thanks for the warm bed, lots of room to play, hamburgers, and great fellowship!
We headed to J' mom's house and stayed there a couple of days. We had 2 great nights of eating, talking, and being TOGETHER! Jason's mom (Grandma Doreen), sister (Jenn), sister (Laura), brother (Robert), and Adam (Jenn's man) hung out and made another set of special memories!!!! We love you very much! More to come from our trip back home!
