Super Bowl winners!!!

The team made it to the championship game, the 10 year old "Super Bowl", and they WON!!! The score was 34-0. The team was undefeated this season, with a 12-0 record. It was 39 degrees with light snow during the game, so a bit cold, but that did not stop the team, and fans, from enjoying the game! After the game we had a pizza party, with laser tag & video games. Fun weekend!

New Christmas CD

My friend from Alaska, Hilary Weeks, has a new Christmas CD out. I can't wait to get it. I was able to hear one song online, and it is great! When I helped planned youth conference in 1987, we asked Hilary to write our theme song - she did an amazing job. Now, it only gets better!

Halloween 2009

Finally, a blog entry! I don't think we will catch up for the last 10 months, so we will start with this weekend.
For Halloween this year, we went to a party & indoor trick-or-treat at a local museum. The cousins had a great time together. We also enjoyed the trunk-or-treat at church earlier in the week, and trick-or-treating Halloween night with school friends. For each of the 3 parties we attended, we pulled out a different costume (from previous years). I personally just wore all black for each party! :)

Family gathering

On our last 2 days of vacation in Las Vegas, we enjoyed visiting with my extended family - having lunch together at a yummy Mexican restaurant, going to a park to play football, watching the University of Utah win the Sugar Bowl, and attend a special baptism.

This is a photo of most of the family at lunch ...

Holidays in Las Vegas

We enjoyed spending Christmas and New Years in Las Vegas this year - a nice 10 day trip! We had family pictures taken while we were here.

We were honored to take a tour of the Nevada state building in Las Vegas, and auntie's office!

We always enjoy visiting the gardens at the Bellagio - all decked out for Christmas!

And the beautiful water show outside of the Bellagio ...
The boys enjoyed lots of time together - reading, playing, eating, video games, ...
We had a great time attending Mamma Mia! at Mandalay Bay. It has been in Vegas for years, and this is the last week. It was spectactular!!

More time with the boys!
We built gingerbread houses!
Santa Claus visited us on Christmas & brought presents for the kids.
Check out my son's amazing Christmas present - a whale baleen from Alaska - his Grandma had it hand carved for him, telling the story of the Alaska Eskimos, and she brought it from Barrow, Alaska!
I received a very special gift as well - a Samoan fine mat. My mat is packed up to be shipped back to Colorado, but here is my mother-in-law's mat. The mat was hand woven in Samoa, and is very old. It is absolutely beautiful, and amazing work! It is a very big honor to receive a mat like this. I am excited to display it in my living room, along with the beautiful tapa cloth I received earlier this year. Now I just need new couches to match! :)

The 3 boys as Star Wars Clone Troopers!
My darling nephew enjoyed his Grandpa's music for hours and hours. A perfect & beautiful baby!
HUGE dinner for Christmas day! We have eaten like this every day - always lots & lots of very good food!
We took the boys to see "Bedtime Stories" at the movie theater. It was really good!
We made an overnight visit to St. George, Utah, and visiting friends and attending a really fun Samoan dance at a cool barn.

Cute nephew & uncle!

Another VERY fun night - we had a date!!!! We went to see "Dancing with the Stars, live tour" at the Orleans in Vegas. It was fantastic!!! I really enjoyed it. It is my favorite television show. (the date on the camera is WAY wrong).

Our own little Christmas, early

We spent Christmas in Las Vegas, so we had our own little Christmas in Denver before we left - at 11 p.m. Better than waking up early! We enjoyed opening our presents at home, so we didn't have to haul everything.

Colorado Christmas

Christmas in Colorado came a few days early this year. We celebrated for 5 days!! Above is our family picture - thank you Emily for being our photographer! It was fun to have everyone together, and dressed so festively!
Below - posing for our holiday card.

Gingerbread houses were taken too an entire new level this year, as an enchanting village.

Good looking cousins!

New baby & wonderful cousin!

The men, after the baby blessing. We had the blessing at my parent's home - it was very special, all family.

Beautiful family! Baby's first Christmas.
Great-grandma & some of her cute girls.

Love that baby! Oldest & youngest boy cousins.

Father & son - good looking!

Cousins enjoying dinnner.

We had a music recital & talent show as part of our celebrations. The kids/family had 6+ recitals & performances during the month of December, so we had everyone perform again when we were all together. Kids played piano, sang, Uncles sang, Grandma played the violin, kids comedy, ...
Uncle playing the violin!!! Western shirt & all (fiddling?).
The kids gathered around Grandma as she played the violin.
