The Beach

During my childhood summers it was more common to find my family eating at a picnic table at this beach than in our own kitchen. I have so many memories from my childhood at this beach and it is so fun to see my kids make their own memories here. We went to the beach for several hours and the kids were in heaven- many more beach adventures to come!

L + G

This was one of those weddings that I was so excited to go to. Leslie is a fabulous lady and someone I just love. Her wedding was beautiful and I am so happy for her. It was great to catch up with a lot of folk that I hadn't seen for a while. A wonderful night!

Not feelin it

Right now, I'm just not feelin so cute. It begins with the baby belly. It's the kind of baby belly that everyone is afraid to acknowledge as a baby belly and thinks that it might just be a mom "letting herself go" as some might say. Maternity clothes fit, but still not quite ready to fully venture into them. On top of it, I got pink eye, causing my eyes to turn totally pink and swollen (thus the cucumbers on the eyes), and I got one of my least favorite haircuts in a long time. You go to the hairdresser with grandiose ideas- transformation about to occur, lights, flashes, and bibbity bobbity boo- a new you! Well, this haircut was more like bibbity bobbity splat! I don't know if I'm just really bad at describing what hairstyle I want or what- but hair rarely turns out how I imagined it would. Anyway, a bad trio I got going on here. So there ya have it, however, I have a hard time leaving a blog entry on a negative note, so I painted my toe nails today- and my toes feel cute (:

yummm....

Lucy and Will were very excited about their Popsicles. Will's excitement, however, lasted longer than Lucy's. Our neighbor friend came over and started talking about how her teeth hurt when she eats Popsicles. Amazingly, Lucy's teeth started hurting and she immediately stopped eating her Popsicle. It's amazing how a 9 year old girl can so easily influence a 4 year old- peer influences already...yikes! Lucy refused another popsicle today, and Will, well, he is still enjoying his Popsicles.

Just Laugh...

We made a trip to the Botanical Gardens in Bellevue- they were beautiful, but nothing compared to St. Louis' gardens. It was a beautiful day!

We found this little hobbit door, that could have been easily missed, at the gardens. I was quite curious what was inside- so were the kids. I'm not sure if this picture captures Lucy saying, "why is nobody answering", or if it's when she realized that it was dad making that creepy hobbit (sounded more like a witch to me) voice and not the creature behind the door.
p.s. fellow blogging friends, my parents computer is not letting me leave comments on other's blogs, I'm still checking up on them though!

A Hunt for the Caterpillar

Quite a fascinating day at the park I must say. Caterpillars were the talk of the hour and the cause of much drama. I made the mistake of giving the caterpillar that Emma asked me to hold to her sister Elena. When Emma came back she asked for her caterpillar and a total look of guilt came over my face as I realized what I had done. Emma went to ask Elena for the caterpillar, more out of desperation than hope, and of course, Elena pointed in every which direction to show Emma where the caterpillar was. No caterpillar was found. Let's just say, I was in the dog house. I pulled up my britches and went a huntin' for a caterpillar- and thank goodness, one was found. This is only one of the caterpillar stories from our day at the park with the cousins. It was actually the first time all of them have been together and it was quite entertaining to see their personalities together.

There it is!

When the sun's out, I have to take a picture. Seriously, the sun is being quite shy here in Seattle. I have to say however, that because it is rarely seen, when we actually see the sun it is quite exciting! We are now staying at my folks house, we're playing musical houses!

Green is Good

We went and walked around Greenlake this afternoon.  Trust me, there is a reason it's called GREENlake, green was everywhere and amazingly vibrant.  It was such a wonderful day for a walk and one of the few days we've actually seen the sun since we have been here.

Bellingham was calling our name and we answered. We went up North to see friends and to have another meeting to talk about the church plant. We had a great time at the park with friends, spent the night at Kristen and Trev and Annabelle's house, and then in the morning went to get coffee and stroll around the ocean in a nice light drizzle. We do love Bellingham and are anxious to go up again.

For the kids

We got two mini-guitars for the kiddos. They are quite enamored with them and there is already talk of starting a band of sorts- I'll keep you posted on that.

The long awaited Cruise

I've been down and out for a bit, cause we've been here and there. We just got back from our wonderful cruise in Mexico. Nate and I went without the offspring and kept thinking "are we forgetting something?" It was so wonderful to spend quality time with my family and to just hang out. Yes, we missed the kids, but we came back and they were just fine. We are so thankful we got to do this together- my family is wonderful!
Despite the new freedom I had to sleep in until noon if I should desire, my body would not let me.  So, here is the sunrise at 6:00 from our room, I know 6:00- way too early... for a cruise anyway.

Sweet, sweet Elena
My wondeful mama

I proudly came in last place in putt putt, and Jer was the clear winner. I think I just must have caught some unlucky gusts of wind and waves- I'm sure that's it.

Nights Out

Happy 40th Anniversary Dad and Mom!  We got celebrate our wonderful parents on the cruise. Below is the bottle of wine we gave them with a picture of them on their wedding day as the label.

Lovely Swan Ice cream Dessert

Candy Poker

Wind Tunnel

We found a secret (at least we liked to think it was) wind deck that provided us with much entertainment.  It was actually a concern that Elena might be taken away by the wind, so she was only on the deck briefly.  As for the rest of us, we were quite amused, and got some weird stares by other passengers.

Cabo

I didn't take many pictures in Cabo- don't really know why.  It was beautiful.  It was also very hot!  Swimming in the ocean was a definite highlight.  We also played bridge on the beach, under an umbrella while sipping on fancy tropical drinks ( I had the best Virgin Margarita I have ever had- I've been wanting one ever since) and eating amazing chips, salsa and guacamole.
