My preschooler
Yes, it's true, Lucy is in school. Lucy has been dreaming of going to schools for as long as she has been dreaming. This little extrovert of mine loves kids and making friends- she loves school! She has been going for a few weeks, but I've just been behind. In fact, we were gone for Lucy's first week of school so I didn't get to take the official "1st day of school" pics. We went to orientation a month or so ago and the teacher said, "the goal is that your child will eventually walk to the door all by him/herself, but it might not happen until the end of the year, and that's fine." So, who do you think makes up her mind that she wants to go in all by herself? Yes, miss little independent. She takes such pride as she walks in. She gives me a wave and hands her teacher whatever paper I've asked her to (quite responsible) and off she goes to sign in and hang up her bag. Yes, I'll admit, after she walks in it hasn't been beyond me to sneak in to make sure she gets to her classroom ok and to peak in at her. I also can admit that it might have been a little nice if there was some hesitation in walking in by herself or being away from me. But really, I'm so excited for her and love hearing her stories about what happens at school, giving her an after school snack, and talking to her about her new friends. A new chapter for Lucy Lu.

The bike
Lu's bike, her 4 buck bike. The bike has been on the blog many a times as it is dear to my dear. Well, sad news about the bike- crash! I was reversing from the driveway and I suddenly hear this crunching noise- no! I jump out of the car and there it is, wheel all bent out of place. I looked at Lucy and said, "sorry hun it's your bike". Her eyes got all watery and she said," Can it be fixed?" Oh, one of those mothering moments. My heart aches for my daughter, but at the same token I remember how just a couple hours before I warned her to keep her bike out of the driveway. How do I respond? I ran over her bike! I had warned her to move it- hmff.. As I looked at her eyes I explained to her the situation and told her we were going to try to fix it but that it might not be able to be fixed. A couple days went by and we just hadn't had a chance to try to fix the bike. Lucy and Will have full faith in daddy and just knew he would be able to fix it. I came home from running errands a couple days ago to a little girl smiling and riding her red bike. I looked at Nate and said, "you fixed it!"- he gave me a funny smile. I said, "you fixed it?" He looks over at our neighbor Bill. Bill heard that Lucy had a broken bike, went down to his basement to get tools and banged that bike back in shape. What a great neighbor! When Will woke up he saw Lucy riding his bike and I said, "look, Bill fixed Lu's bike!" He looked at me and said, "no, dada fixed it". I tried once again to tell him that it was Bill, but Will was convinced it could be no one other than dada. I decided that it wouldn't be the worst thing if Will thought dada fixed it, dropped the subject and just smiled. Dada has got one devout son- no replacing his "fix it" hero. Oh yes, and the bike has not been left in the driveway since.

Produce Shopping
We try to make it to the market as much as we can for our produce but haven't been there since we got back. However, this morning we made it and it was great to get back in the culture of a market. We try to make it a part of our Saturday morning routine as much as we can.

Of course, we had to get the homemade mini-donuts to end the day of shopping-mmm mmm.
In case you were wondering where you could pick up some peacock feathers to decorate with, you can get them here.

30 weeks
30 weeks and I can gladly say the 3rd trimester has been the easiest trimester so far. Only a little more than 2 months left- so crazy!

What do ya'll think- picture at the top of the blog or not? Still unsure- can't really read the writing so well. Maybe some fellow blogging friends would have some suggestions.

Assessment
We've been "off blog" and under the microscope for the last week. If that doesn't make sense, what I mean is that we have been in Atlanta for Church Planter Assessment. This was a big week for us as 9 assessors were watching our every move and seeing if they felt we were headed in the right direction. We are thankful that we got the thumbs up (more or less) to continue forward with our hopes of church planting. It was an exhausting week and we missed the kids terribly, but we're thankful it's behind us and were actually quite encouraged by our time there. When we were tired we looked back on our first night in Atlanta with David and Brenna. We decided to go out on the town together before assessment began and had a fabulous time.
We landed first at this awesome pub with some great Belgian beer. I had a sip of David's and have been wanting one since.
After we walked to this restaurant called "Cafe Lilly" and it was an amazing meal. I had this Greek lamb with white sweet potatoes- oh my it was good!
Our transportation- the Marta, very smart.
