Halloween

We went trick-or-treating in our friends neighborhood. The trees were full in bloom and it was beautiful. The kids charged each door and ran from house to house, brings back such memories. After trick-or-treating we had a wonderful meal of white bean chili, cornbread, cider and pumpkin pie on our friend's back patio - fabuloso!

Will was Thomas the Train. He saw this costume and I just couldn't say no, he loved it so much. He has perfected his "choo choo" I think.

Caden the cow- isn't he cute?

Preschool Parade

Lucy got to wear her costume to school today. The kids all dressed up and had a little parade. I took a nap while dad took Lu to school so I didn't get to see the parade, but I bet it was pretty darn cute. Here are some pictures of her before she left. If you can't tell, she's a butterfly fairy (wand missing in these pics). More pics of Halloween fun and sir William to come....

The 25th @9

So, the c-section date has been set. No, this does not mean that I am for sure I am having a c-section, we're still praying the Lord will flip this baby, but if it doesn't flip it looks like it's Thanksgiving in the hospital! Wonder how their turkey is? I do remember after having Lucy and Will that turkey and mashed potatoes were what sounded good so this could work out alright. Anyway, the good news is that the amniotic fluid is higher, it was at about a 10 when she measured it (compared to a 6.5 at it's lowest)- praise God! I heard somewhere to not just drink water, but to add a little juice or something to it because it helps metabolize the liquid differently. I also heard to drink Gatorade. However, too much Gatorade was advised against because of the sodium, so my drink has been water with just a bit of Gatorade. Who knows if this helped, but I thought I'd put it out there just in case someone reading has low fluids too- give 'er a try. Well, happy Halloween- looking forward to all the cute pics of kids (and adults, hmmm...Jodi) dressed up tomorrow in blog world.

Colors

Well, colors are popping up everywhere. I keep waiting to go out and take some fall pictures until they are really in full bloom. However, last night I overheard on the news that the colors just aren't as vibrant this fall, so I decided to go take some pics before the leaves are on the ground. We found this beautiful yellow tree- so amazing. In case you're wondering:

Yes, I am 8 months pregnant and having back problems.
Yes, I was lying on the ground to take these pictures
Yes, my back hurt after and it was really difficult to get up.
No, I don't regret it- I think they're really fun!

It's an Undergound thingy

(Chai Martini- yum!)

So, Nate and I had the opportunity to go to an elaborate 5 course meal at this "underground" restaurant. I don't really know how much I can say, because well, it's underground, but it's put on by this amazing chef and the location changes each month. Each course was paired with a beer and thoughtfully planned out. It was a really fun night out.
Sarah and me

The soup was actually my favorite part of the meal. It was a squash/apple soup with cider foam and homemade bacon, the best bacon I've ever enjoyed.

I told you!

And I quote my sister's last comment, "I don't want to hear ANYTHING about you having a bad childhood picture. Shall we whip up the old photos and compare?" In answer to the question, yes we should compare, I think I've got you on this one. Really! I mean really! Check out that hair- classic, uneven bangs and all! Stacie, were you responsible for this haircut?

And here's Miss Lucy's first school picture. You can tell we're from the Northwest. She was the only girl in her class not wearing a dress (quite disappointing for her) and to add to that, the jeans she wore had a hole in them- oh well.

Costume

Just completed the Halloween costume- check!

The Arch

City shots

I thought this picture was appropriate with the arch in the background and the Washington sign.

Nate's on break so we decided to head into the city to go to the arch and to get some pictures of downtown. It was actually a pretty grey (and cold) day. Anyways, I didn't get too many great ones of the city, but got some fun ones nonetheless.

Soccer

My good friend Sarah invited us to Huntleigh's soccer. Both kids really loved it- however, Will ditched out about 15 minutes before it was over. He was pretty much in his own world- dribbling back and forth while the other kids did the organized activities, it was fine with us though.

Does my blog look weird?

When I'm on Firefox my blog looks weird. Some of the posts don't have the pictures and only white boxes around where the pictures should be. However, on Explorer it looks ok. My banner on the top also isn't showing up. Does my blog look normal to you?

Starbucks

I love Starbucks kids cocoa- so cheap. I'm still shocked everytime I order it that it's just a buck, I bet it won't be too long before this changes because it's just too good of a deal. At any rate, it's a fun Saturday morning treat for the kiddos. The trick is to see if I have the self-control to not get a drink as well. Last Saturday I didn't and Nate and I shared a mocha- it was so so good!

p.s. Can you tell in that pic that Lucy got a black eye? The result of rough housing on a couch with no cushions. She's one tough cookie though.
