My baby is not a baby anymore....

Ever since I was very young I had two dreams...
1. I was going to get married in the temple to the perfect man, and have the perfect marriage....
2. I was going to be a mom

I will never forget the day that all my dreams came true. I already had the perfect marriage, the most wonderful husband in the whole world and so much happiness with him. And then in an instant I had everything I had ever wanted. I had my beautiful baby girl, Abby Lynn Wood. She was so perfect. Really the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. She had so much personality right from the start. But even at that moment, when all my dreams came true, I had no idea how wonderful she was going to make my life. How much joy and happiness she would bring me.

She has such a way about her.. I love watching how she touches the lives of those around her with her whit and whimsy. She is such a curious little girl with a thirst to learn and is so smart. She is a good friend and is kind. She knows how to share and has a such a desire to do good. I love how she is thoughtful and that she takes everything in. I love her confidence, her sense of security and independence. I love her sense of humor. I love that she assumes other people mean well and I love that she is fair. She has so much spunk.... she negotiates like no one I have ever seen, and she doesn't back down easy. She talks constantly.....she never stops! And she can memorize the lyrics to a song like you wouldn't believe. When I look and listen to her I see so much of myself and it causes me to reflect on who I am and who I want her to be.

I have been telling her for months that I didn't want her to turn four. That I wasn't ready to have a little girl and that I just wanted her to stay my baby. I would tell her she can still have a birthday party, she just has to stay three. She would always explain to me gently that it must be, that she has to turn four and that she really wants to be a big girl. A couple of days ago as we were discussing this subject she kindly explained to me that she has to turn four... because she wants to be a Mom....

She has so much wisdom. I love her more than anything. I know she is going to be the best mom someday... I just hope she doesn't mind if I always consider her my baby.

I love you baby girl. Happy fourth Birthday!
