Mi nueva casa

My company moved to the corporate office in Sandy, UT so instead of commuting 30 minutes a day I moved to Sandy also. I found a really nice house that I love and the best part is it 4 minutes away from work. I have 3 roommates, a piano, big room, big closet, washer and dryer, big back yard, a microwave, and so much more. Starting over again in a new place is hard but the nice place is worth it.

Here is the outside of my new house:

The kitchen:

My big room:

My closet that magically fits all of my clothes and shoes:

My big bathroom that I share with only one girl:

Here is our piano, it is so fun to practice again. Oh and notice our "real" Christmas tree in the background:

Yes we have a dog...his name is Ky and we are best friends now:

My first big snow...

A few weeks ago I woke up to a winter wonderland on a Sunday morning. There was more snow on the ground and in the sky than I had ever seen in my life! It was fun but thank goodness the weather has been warmer and the snow has melted. It was a good welcoming to Utah!

Thanksgiving Memories

*Driving 3 hours with the parents and brothers from Safford to Mesa
*Running the Turkey Trot(or saying I will and then sleeping in)
*Waiting for the Thompsons to get there
*Picking between the aunts' whole wheat or white rolls( both we amazing)
*Tasting Uncle John's smoked special turkey
*Running with Amy, Emily, and Bethany to be the first ones to get Grandma's pie
*Sleeping like babies after the meal on any furniture or floor that we can find
*Getting $20 worth of junk food from Grandpa at Walgreen's after we are still so full

This is how a typical Hancock Thanksgiving goes every year without fail.
Looking back on these memories and not being able to make more this year I realize what an amazing family I have esp. at Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving just isn't the same without your family no matter how good the pumpkin pie is.

I love you Hancocks and miss you this year!

My first daylight savings time(can I please go back to AZ)

Daylight savings time:
This was a foreign term to me until a few days ago. This is something I had only read about in books or seen in movies. I have loved my Arizona daylight savings time ban my whole life. This ban came to an end on 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning in my humble new home of Orem, UT. I, being fore warned, turned my clock back one hour on Saturday night to wake up on time for church the next day. I woke up at the correct time and thought well that is the end of daylight savings time till next year. All went well and it was actually nice going back an hour because I got to sleep an extra hour.

Then this morning an unexpected daylight savings time disaster hit.
I set my alarm for 6:30 a.m. on my Iphone but it did not go off at 6:30 a.m. Monday morning.
Some how my body miraculously woke up at 7:00 a.m. Monday morning and I thought to myself I don't remember my alarm going off on my Iphone...that was wired. I checked my alarm and it said 6:30a.m....so I thought I must have sleep walked and turned it off or something. I booked it and got ready having not much time at all and was almost late to work. Then at 7:30 a.m. my set at 6:30 a.m. alarm goes off. I thought again that this was weird; it was supposed to go off an hour ago but I was in a hurry to get to work so I didn't have time to figure out what went wrong.

When I finally arrived at work( in a frantic not to be late) a co-worker asks me how I woke up this morning. I said, "you know what... my alarm didn't go off...did yours?" He said, "no...Apple had figured out they had a bug in their system and the alarms on Iphones and Ipods were not adhering to daylight savings time on Monday."

I WAS SO TICKED!!!!!!! Seriously Apple you couldn't have sent me an email, text, or anything notifying me of this "bug." They knew about it and just let American Iphone users show up to work late. AAAHHHHHHHH freakin Apple.

Therefore I officially dislike daylight savings time and let it be on record that I miss you Arizona. waaaa

Thanks for letting me complain. I will try to be positive now but I had to get this off my chest. This is Lyndee signing off.

P.S.
here is an article about it if your would like to read about it:

the fight between warm vs. cold

So I am usually a peaceful person, I would vote yes for world peace any day! But I have recently took up fighting. I have now enlisted in a fight that involves any way to keep warm as the high for today is 60 and it is only going to get colder here in Utard. I have started to come up with many battle tactics to keep an ol hot Arizona girl warm in this cold Utard weather. Here are some of my battle tactics: big cup of hot chocolate, 5 count them ...5 blankets on my bed, Ugg boots, broiling a cheese crisp in the oven for lunch just so I can stand in front of it to warm up, and long steaming baths. A great battle went on today between me and the cold. The battle plan today was to make a nice warm pot of vegetable stew. Here is how that fight turned out:

Here is my vegetable stew (a.k.a. secret weapon) cooking away!

The finished product. It was yummy and warmed me all up!
notice the warm steam coming up...and my warm biscuit I made to go with

My cooking mess...After all I am still Lyndee the world's messiest cooker and eater
(Battle fields have been known to get pretty messy if you know what I mean)

Good thing my cook book had plastic protectors over the pages!
(every good battle needs a protective shield)

Alan's healthy cookies for desert(I need to think of a warmer desert)

Warm Slippers I wore in the making (every solider needs a uniform)

The warm stew battle was well fought today. May the battle between warm and cold continue. If you have any ideas how to stay warm..... Sargent Lyndee would gladly take them. COLD YOU ARE GOING DOWN!!!!!

Conference!!!!!!!

So I went to GENERAL CONFERENCE at the conference center for the first time EVER! It was such a great experience to be were the action is at. I went with my roommates. There were so many people there! It was a beautiful day and a wonderful conference weekend. I enjoyed bowling and visiting the elderly with the Heywood girls for girls night during priesthood session. My favorite talks were Uchtdorf and Monson's!

Anticipation

I have had this phone the LG Shine for two years. It has treated me well until now....It has now started crapin out on me. The camera doesn't work any more and after I do anything it freezes for at least 15 seconds. This only concludes to one thing....time to get a new phone. Now this beautiful baby below called a miracle of technology or aka the Iphone will be my new companion. I told my dad I wanted an Iphone. He decided to sell me his and he will get an Ipad.

Now I have been waiting a week for his Ipad and new simple phone to come in that he ordered. Then I have to wait for him to send the Iphone up to me in Utah. AHHHHH I don't think I can wait any longer. I am trying as hard as I can to exercise patience ahhhhhh!!! It is so pretty...

Life is great...esp. in a place nicknamed 'Happy Valley'

So my life has taken a complete 360 in the past couple weeks. Let me take you through a chronological tour of the life changing events in my life the past couple months.(pictures will be applied when appropriate). Sit back, buckle up and enjoy the ride through Lyndee Land.

June 26th and July 31st: My 2 roommates and best friends got married. Emily and Jess your weddings were beautiful and I am so glad to be apart of them and thankful for your influence in my life.
Month of July: I moved back home and finally finished up my bachelors degree by completing my last class online ending August 4th. Right before this I lost one of the best woman to live on this earth....my Grandma Hancock.

August 2nd: I received a random out of the blue text from my high school friend Kali. She asked me if I wanted to move in with her in Provo, Utah becasue she had and extra room in her house.(this was just a joke becasue she didn't think I would really move to Utah-nor did I)
I then thought what the heck why not, I am done with school in 2 days and need a job and a place to live). So I got on Craig's list that day and applied for Human Resource jobs in Provo, UT. The next day I got a call from one of the jobs and it turns out the boss of this job went to high school with my aunt LeNell. This gave me the connections and I got the job that day over the phone.

Friday August 6th: I put my life in to my blue Honda civic, said goodbye to my only home I have ever known....Arizona, and drove 11 hours up to the beehive state to a place known as 'Happy Valley' aka Provo, UT.

-note the above and below two pictures are of me and my peeps partying up my last night in AZ by visiting for the last time the best parts of ASU campus-

Present day:I am 2 weeks into my job and it is really great. I am learning so much. The firm I work for is a Human Resource firm and we do HR work for other companies.

All in all....I never thought I would find myself hundreds of miles away from my close family and friends in the freezing cold(well so I have heard it will get really cold). But yet here I am and it is such a blessing and a answer to my prayers to have a great job and have the opportunity to meet knew people gaining more life experience. I had an epiphany today at work that the Lord was really looking out for me and this situation I found my self in is such a blessing! I thank the Lord for this.

So now you all look forward to hearing about my new adventures in a place so unfamiliar to me. Who knows what will come up....All I know is that i am blessed and thankful to be living life right now...(even if it means freezing to death, haha jk)

Mustys...

So my bestie cousins Amy and Bethany went to a theme park but I had to work so I couldn't go with them... but they made it up to me by taking pictures of musty people for me.
Those who don't know what musty means it just means weird, yucky, unattractive, ect....
feel free to laugh or say musty at anytime while looking at these pictures. Oh the pleasures of all the different kinds of people in this world.
-This first one is a great musty shirtless guy in a jeep on their way there

This is musty becasue the guy has a do rag, tattoos, is caring his girl's purse, and the rat tail of his hair kills me

They had to be quick with this one as this lady shows half of her but as she leans over(musty)

And the musty award goes to......!!!!This one is my personal favorite. Can I get a roll for dinner?

ya uhhhh ya.....

Can you say bowl cuts were so last decade.....Musty!

Our Angel....

My beautiful grandma passed away today. Grandma Hancock was so nice and loving! I would love to watch her crochet and she crochet all the cousins blankets of their school colors when they graduated. She was the best cook in the whole world. Nothing beat her tamale pie, spaghetti, stew or anything else. Whenever I would spend the night she would always make us "hot cakes" in the morning and that was the best part of sleeping there was grandma's hot cakes. She was stylish, talented, but most of all the most loving woman I have ever known. She truly was an angel. Grandma you already knew last night while our large family was all crammed in that little hospital room that we love you with all our hearts! Say hi to the others on the other side. God be with you till we meet again!

I AM A COLLEGE GRADUATE.....

It finally hit me when I was sitting in the area as the announcer said, "Welcome class of 2010 graduates." Tears welled up in my eyes and goosebumps filled my body as I heard this. The 2010 graduates included me...ME!!!! All the sweat, stress, sleepless nights, money, papers, tests, and sucking up to teachers had paid off and got me to where I am today. My life long goal of graduating from college was reality. I, a small town girl, has now accomplished something. I have a degree. Thank you mom and dad for all of your support and help. My mom, dad, and Greg came out to watch me graduate. Thanks dad for paying my tuition and mom for the constant cheering me on to endure till the end. Now bring on the future....whatever it will bring....
