Great Day For Nesting...

Woohoo! Spring is finally here. The robins are back and the current "feels like" temp is a whopping 78 degrees! It truly is amazing what nice weather can do to someone's mood. I've had quite a bite more energy this weekend and have used it to give in to my nesting instincts. Yesterday I cleaned the apartment and got caught up on the laundry. I still had enough energy to enjoy the sand park and a walk with my family last night. In a few minutes, I plan to head outside to vacuum out the vehicles which sorely need to be cleaned inside and out. It's not warm enough to wash them yet, nor should I really put the energy into it, but if I don't get out I'll go stir crazy waiting for Colin to arrive. So look out robins, here I come!

36 Weeks

36 Weeks, originally uploaded by kittykommittee.

I don't see much difference in my size in the past 2 weeks, but Dr. Kesler said Colin was much lower today than 2 weeks ago. I've only gained another 3 pounds to make it a total of 34 pounds. Dr. Kesler thinks I won't make it to my due date (April 17) because his Colin's head is already so low, but I'm not holding my breath. Just as long as I don't go past it, I'll be fine. I'm now on weekly doctor visits so that should help the time go faster.

On a side note, thanks to those of you who have been praying for our Marion house issues. The insurance has said they are going to cover more than what we originally thought (although not as much as we'd like), and we got a really good estimate for the roof. It's probably a good thing we can't make the trip back to Marion right now. The pictures our realtor took were kind of upsetting and if we were there in person to see them, we'd worry more. As it is, we really trust the person whose organization is going to do most of the repairs. So we have no choice but to leave it in God's very capable hands. Please continue to pray that we sell it soon though.

Alex and Athena

Alex and Thena2, originally uploaded by kittykommittee.

Miracles still do happen! Alex called me into the bedroom to take a picture of him and my cat, Athena, last week. He had woken up from his nap and found Athena on the end of the bed. This is probably the first time she has ever stayed still long enough to be petted by Alex. Normally, if I'm there holding her she'll tolerate it just until I let go of her. But this time she stayed on the bed and let him climb up next to her to be petted. She actually seemed to be enjoying this belly rub. Too bad she doesn't know she'll have to go through this all over again with Colin. Hopefully it won't take another 4 years.

34 weeks

34.5 weeks, originally uploaded by kittykommittee.

This is the self-portrait I took this afternoon using our new camera's timer and the printer as a tripod. Yes, we do have a real tripod but I thought I'd try using the printer on our desk as a quick way to take the pic. I asked my Dr. to do an informal ultrasound in the office last Tuesday and he was nice enough to take the time to do it. We are definitely still having a boy. The pics I got are kind of fuzzy because he is so big so I won't post them. But I know I'll look at them a lot to help me get through the next 6 or so weeks. It was neat to see him moving so much. I feel like I have an octopus living inside my belly!

Finally...

Family, originally uploaded by kittykommittee.

Bekah and Amy C. You will both be so proud of me! I finally finished our wedding/honeymoon scrapbook after almost 8 years of marriage. I posted a few of my favorite pages on Flickr. I made myself finish this one before I got any farther into Alex's scrapbook. Now I just have to buckle down and try to get his up to date!

Cool igloo

Alex Inside, originally uploaded by kittykommittee.

Chris' Director of Operation, Ray, spent 18-20 hours building an igloo in his front yard. He used his recycling bin to make the blocks. The finished product was awesome. Check it out on Flickr.

Misc. pics and thoughts for the day

Well, I guess subbing for our local school district in not meant to be yet. I had accepted a subbing job for today and lo and behold... another snow day. Got another one scheduled for Monday so we'll see what happens then.

Alex loves wearing Daddy's clothes. He thinks it's hilarious to try to sneak them on without us knowing.

We all got some new clothes with Chris' work logo on it. Alex had fun playing in the snow in his new hat.

After "Tubby Time" he gets all cozy in his robe. The sunglasses we got from our "Treasure Hunt" (a.k.a. geocache) last summer. They appear from time to time and make for great pics.
