December 11th

We didn't do a 'friend party' for Macy this year but we have amazing family on both sides that came over to celebrate her over some Tortilla Soup and my mom's famous Ice Cream Cake. She was more than happy to host all of the people who love her under one roof for the evening and I think it was a great time.

One of the funnest (yes I said 'funnest') things about Macy's birthday is that it is also my older brother's birthday. Macy thinks this is really neat. I also think it's kinda cool that my mom and I both became mom's on the same day, 26 years apart.

So Uncle Kyle and Macy got to blow out their birthday candles together this year. Happy Birthday to both of you!

The Birthday Girl

My baby girl turned five yesterday. FIVE. That's this many.

And in case you weren't sure. That's a big deal people. Big. HUGE.

I took her out to the backyard to take some pictures of her to document this milestone. And who knew I had such a 'director'/model on my hands. You'll find the following photo shoot full of poses completely dictated by Miss thing herself.

"Here Mom, how 'bout I sit in this chair, watch like this"...

"Now what if I stand on it! Isn't that funny?!"...

"Oh no! Mom! I know, take a picture like this!"

"What if I do thumbs up, cuz you know, like, 'Thumbs up I'm five'?"...

Oh Macy Grace, I could never ever have imagined how much fun you getting older was going to be! I love your sweet soft spirit, I adore your bubbly personality, I melt at your tender heart.

You, precious girl, have made the past five years the most amazing of my whole entire life. I have watched you emerge into your own little person one layer at a time and if the last five years were this fun, I simply can not wait for the next five.
