Dave, Lisa, and I were able to be at the township when Dad received an award for his service to Redford Township. There were also several friends from church that came. It was great to see the support and great to see his reaction. Although dad couldn't really talk at the time you can tell how much this meant to him. He cried...but the best part is this smile below. Because when the cancer went to his brain, it caused the right side of his face to droop and he couldn't smile, but he mustered up the biggest smile we'd seen on him in months!

A year ago today We all gathered around Dad's bed in Angela Hospice as he went home to meet his maker. It was a sweet moment, if you could believe it. An emotional moment. A hard moment. But to have the privilege to be there in the very moment someone important to you is leaving this life and crossing the veil to the spirit world is a spiritual moment beyond description. One of those things that imprints on your mind, that you will never forget. A testimony, faith building experience. And to have all my siblings all there together was amazing. We miss you Dad, but we know you are working hard just as you were down here.We love you!
