Greg and Taylee

On August 30th, Kris was in town with Taylee.  She had to take some bridal pictures for her photography business.  Greg needed to run and get his tires looked at, so he took Taylee with him. Next thing we know, we get this photo of the two of them having cinnamon crustos at Taco Time!

Tyson's First High School Football Game vs. Judge Memorial

Tyson did a great job kicking.
This play was awesome.  Tyson was double teamed most of the game.  He broke through the line and stripped the ball from the quarterback as he was trying to hand it off to the running back.  He then took off down the field for a 45 yard touchdown!  I was in the stand wondering what in the heck happened!  I was waiting for a tackle!  Your kid plays defense- you expect someone to fall!  Instead, suddenly I realize he is running with the ball!  Crazy!

Date Night??? Really!?

So Greg informed me that we got to go to a country concert at the fairgrounds that they were having on the weekend before the fair as a kick- off for the county fair.  A date night......sounds awesome right?  Well, then I find out that they need help in the cook shack for the Kiwanis Club.  So, I get to help cook hamburgers and listen to the music while I work.  I don't actually get to speak to Greg, but just hear music in the background.  He is a tricky one!  We did sneak out for a minute for a break and sat in the back corner and listen for a few minutes.

Tour of Utah Celebration

Tonight Greg and I went over to Library Park for the Tour of Utah Celebration for the bike race coming through tomorrow.  The city council roasted whole pigs and then had a pulled pork dinner.  The had invited Polynesian dancers for entertainment.  It was really fun.  I wish we could have talked Kaden and Tyson into coming, but they didn't think it would be fun.  Teenagers!

Baseball

Earlier in the summer I got to go and watch Carter play baseball (Ryan was the coach).  It was so fun to see him out there.  I also got to watch Kami play in her league, but somehow didn't get pictures!  Kristen was her coach.  It is fun to get to see your grandkids in the activities they are involved in.

Kaden and his Drone

So, Kaden spent his own money and bought a drone.  Not a cheap one either (about $3000).  Since he did not buy a beginner drone, we enlisted some help teaching some things about it.  One of the other counselors at my school, Teresa Hart, has a son who works with drones at USU.  His name is Tommy Thompson.  We went over to Logan and he gave Kaden some pointers and really was helpful.  Well, a little over a week went by. Kaden took some amazing footage.  He took it to some of the events for Tremonton City Days and produced a video for the radio station in Logan.  The next day, on a Sunday, the Hess family came over for a visit.  We had Kaden take the drone out to show them how it works.  Well, it was like a poltergeist possessed the thing!  Kaden was doing everything he could, and the dang thing would not respond to him.  It started circling the house and going faster and faster.  Then it dive bombed going about 45 mph into the field next to our house that was being irrigated.  Needless to say, it was in parts and under water.  Greg and Kaden took the drone to Salt Lake this last week to the manufacturers to see what they can figure out.  So sad!

Dinosaur Park was Fun!

Carter sat and listened to this man explain things about fossils for almost an hour!  I think the guy was in heaven that someone was as interested in them as he is!

Kami was daring the dinosaurs to come get her.  Sophie kept trying to grab her back to safety.

Elder Kyle Hess Returns from his Mission!

Tyson and I went to the airport with Peggy and Bryson Nelson to see Elder Kyle Hess come home from California from his mission.  He has grown and changed so much- and yet- is still the same Kyle.  It seems so weird to think that he is so grown up!  It was a fun day.  Tyson and I enjoyed spending time with the Nelsons.  We don't do things like this enough!

Sunday Afternoon Treats

Tyson always makes sure that I make some sort of treat on Sunday afternoons.

Date Night at the Raptor's Game

Kaden

We were outside on the deck Sunday playing some Rummy.  Kaden looks so handsome with his new hair cut.  We found a barber in Ogden who did a really good job.  He is getting so old!  He is going to be a junior in high school this year!

Cute Twins

It is so fun to watch how different these two are!  Jack ate the cupcake I gave him with gusto, while Kalli took little bites and didn't get too messy.

I took the kids over to the park one day where they were having some fun activities for Tremonton Days.  Unfortunately, most of the activities were a little too advanced for what they could do quite yet.
This is proof that Kalli likes Greg sometimes.  She loves books, so this is one way he can get her to come to him without saying, "No!"

We took the twins out on the deck first thing in the morning.  The farmer behind us was irrigating the fields.  Greg kept telling them there were birds in the field, but Jack was sure they were "ducks".

After nap time snuggles.  Kalli had woken up a little while before Jack.  She was still glued to my side and didn't want Greg.  Then when Jack woke up he was all snuggles as well!  I was glad Jayson and Kassi went to Vegas for a convention. It gave us some fun times!

Where Has the Time Gone?

Today as I was looking through pictures, I was shocked how much these two little misses have grown!  They were the babies of the family for a while.  (They still are the babies in their own families.)  Quit growing up so fast Taylee and Sophie!

Disney had a cute new movie this summer.  Four of the grand-daughters wanted stuffed dolls like the characters.  (Sophie wanted a regular baby- Kalli got a stuffed duck)  I had the girls pose like they thought their character might look:

We have some pretty dramatic girls!
