Proudly announcing the Birth of:
Mikayla Rose
April 10, 2008, 9:32 am
7 Lbs 3 oz
19 1/2 inches
(and a whole lotta hair!)

After a nirvana like labor experience, I am so excited to introduce our newest family member, Mikayla Rose. I was pretty sure that she was going to come on her own a little early, like her brother but after a whole lot of braxton hicks and not much else, we elected to induce on the morning of her due date. They started the pitocin at 5:30am and she was born at 9:32am. I elected to have an epidural this time, remembering how fun it was to be cranked up on pitocin without one before. I love the epidural man. I felt absolutly no pain, no discomfort, during the whole process. I actually had to inform the nurse that it was time to get the baby out and for a few contractions she wouldn't believe me, until she checked.
Everything moved so fast that my parents didn't make it to the hospital in time for the birth, but arrived soon after to introduce Timmy to his sister. He has been really sweet to her and will give her little kisses. He is fascinated by her but I don't think he quite understands that she is now a permanent fixture in the family.
Grandpa Frank, Grandma Shirley, and Aunt Becky came up Friday to lavish love and attention on the new addition.
More pics soon!
