My girls

Just a quick add to my blog. I haven't made much in terms of crafting, what with one thing & another, mainly the girls & bump!!!

This was taken at the weekend when we had a day in the garden, clearing up the endless amounts of leaves & in order to get more in the wheelie bin, Dave put Sophie in it to get her to jump up & down & push the leaves down a bit more, so inevitably, Chloe wanted in on the action too!

Altered Mirror

Please excuse the naff photo!

I have seen a few altered mirrors on friends blogs, so thought I'd have a go myself.

This mirror we inherited when we moved in, so spent no pennies on it!
2 coats of black gesso, 1" stampbord, inked with various distress inks, then lots of different stamps used, then I used crackle glaze & glossy accents on all of them.

Thanks for looking.

Word Challenge

The challenge over on Lots to do Challenge blog is to use a word. Sorry the word is not very exciting! I used an old mint tin. I found some die cut chip board letters which I stuck onto the lid. Then covered the whole tin in self adhesive metal, which I have never used before, so it's a bit rough round the edges. I then used alcohol inks to decorate the tin, I finished using a gold leaf pen to highlight the letters better.

Thanks for looking.

Canvas

Nearly forgot how to do this again!

I have to thank Hilda for giving me the inspiration to do this with her altered canvas on her blog, so thank you Hilda.

Anyway, I altered a canvas yesterday. I started off by putting a thick layer of Windsor & newton Mineral texture gel all over, including sides. After it had dried, I then glued cut up pieces of newspaper. With the remaining mod podge, I added 1 drop of vintage photo distress reinker (waste not, want not!) to give an aged look. After that had dried, I then added my frames which also had the mineral gel & the lighter ones had sand texture gel on them, with CI images behind. (thought I had some larger frames, but can't find them!!) The final touch was stamped images on tissue paper & glued on.

The picture does not look great, but hay ho, I'm pleased with it, considering I have not crafted in an age!

Watch this space for am altered mirror I am working on!

Thanks for looking!

I can't believe we're in June already! I have not done any crafting for some time, but I hope to get my mojo back soon so I can blog something!

Hope life is treating you well!

Art

The theme on Lots to Do challenge blog this week is "Art", so I made this canvas.
Background is various acrylic dabbers, then I used a swirl stamp round the edges.
I then used the tissue paper technique, which can be found on the technique zone blog. I seem to struggle with this, as I always seem to get creases when doing this, but on this occasion, I think it adds to the style of the theme!

Bandanna Atc's

Ang is hosting an atc swap over on Lots to do & we have to use the bandanna technique.
I seem to really struggle getting the colours crisp on these, but I hope they are OK!

Element atc swap

Andrea over on lots to do is hosting an atc swap in which you make 3 atc's, but the you have to take an element out of the first one to use on the 2nd, & again, an element from the 2nd for the 3rd!

It sounded easy enough, till I came to do it!

So, 1st atc is simply, the 2nd, I have taken the background flowers for this & the 3rd, I took the daisy chain from that.

I hope I have done it ok!

Gesso

Hope I'm not late for this weeks challenge over on the lots to do challenge blog!

The theme this week is to use GESSO in your work.

I made an atc, with various images stamped onto it, then glossy & crackle accents to finish it off.

Tag & bookmark swap

These are for a swap I am hosting on on LTD.

The theme is to use something new you have bought for your craft stash (even though we are in a credit crunch, I am sure we all find a few £'s to spend!!!)

My new stash is cuttlebug embossing folders, acrylic dabbers, & CI stamps.

March recipe swap

These are for another swap over on lots to do.

This months recipe is

Animal image
Ribbon
3 gems
Colour purple.

Canvas swap

Andrea on Lots to do forum, is hosting a canvas swap.

There is no theme this time.

I used the egg shell technique from the fab technique blog, link should be on here somewhere.

I used gold acrylic dabber paint, then sparkle mod podge to give it a bit of sparkle.

The inside is covered with gesso, and I added some fine crushed up egg shells, to give it a bit of texture, then I let that dry. The image was stamped onto tissue paper, cut very close. I then used mod podge again & placed the image inside, then another coat of glue.

I hope my swap partner likes it!

?????

I don't know........................................

Leave her playing for 5 minutes on her own to go & wash up, & look what happens, she falls asleep on the spot!

Just had to share these with you!

New craft room

These are pictures of my new craft room, all tidy for a change!

My lovely hubby made me some shelves for all my stuff & a new shelf today to keep all my wooden mounted stamps on. I do have a huge desk though, which is fab!
The wardrobe also hold's a huge amount of stuff, but the doors are little to be desired, so all art work, albeit, fat page, arch, etc is gratefully received to hide the hideous doors!!! Thanks!

In Stitches

This is my attempt at this weeks challenge over on Lots to do challenge blog.

I made a fat page.

The background is the shaving foam technique.

I then added stamped images of flowers & leaves & coloured in with H2O's.

I hope you like it!

Quick update!

Hi again.

Quick update for you, well, we are still unpacking boxes, but on the plus side, I have done a small amount of crafting, but I can't blog it, as it is a birthday present!!!

We are having double glazing fitted in the next week or so, so I best get organised for that to happen, so might get a bit of crafting in before that all kicks off.

Thanks for popping back & seeing my blog, albeit, very boring!

Take care of yourself!
