It's Official!

We just got the call from the builder. We are official home owners! Mark is on his way with our Christmas tree and a few others things to pick up the keys and start moving things in. Tomorrow is the big move and our friends will be coming over to help. Although they might not be our friends after the move...it's supposed to be 18 degrees tomorrow. I might have to serve hot chocolate to thaw everyone out. I posted some pictures of the inside of the house now that it is officially our place.

Warning: Carpel Tunnel

As I was about to create this post I realized it's my 100th post. Woo hoo! And what better way to celebrate than to have amazing news. We will be signing papers today at 3:30 on our new house! My brother's advice was take Motrin and bring lots of pens. We are so excited. We should be getting the keys to the house tomorrow after 4:30 and it will be ours. Too bad we had a huge snow storm today that dumped tons of snow that will probably be around to hinder us on Saturday for the move. Oh well. I've already planned on laying down paper on my new carpets. I actually care about stains on carpet now. My mom told me the story of when she and my dad bought their house years ago. She said her hand was shaking when she signed her life away. I'm not nervous. Maybe I will be nervous when I have to write out that first mortgage check. Gulp.

Nightly Ritual

This is pretty much what happens every night before bed. Piper was actually in a good mood so she sat and listened to the story. Normally I'm feeding her a bottle and getting her ready for bed at this point. Lately, the girls have preferred Mark to read them books at night. Very rarely do I get to read to them anymore.

Decorating for Christmas

Even though we are moving so soon I gave in to the girls' pleading to put up our small Christmas tree. We had lots of fun and I'm glad we did it. I might feel differently when I have to take it all down in a few days to move it to the new house. We are hoping to close on Wednesday.

Calista had a blast putting the ornaments on the tree.
Piper loved the lights, of course.
This year Calista got to put the angel on top.
Téa loved helping Mark put the lights on the tree.

A Place To Call Home

I can't put into words how excited I am. This is the house we are most likely going to be buying. Things are looking really good and in our favor so the possibility is high. We have been looking since the beginning of August and as each month passed it got more frustrating and depressing. Then along came this house. We fell in love with it right away. I realize posting this is a little premature, but I couldn't hold it in anymore. Just the thought of getting out of our townhouse is so exciting. I get even more excited when I think about all the organizing I get to do while moving. I know, I'm weird but I love to organize stuff. Anyway, we will keep everyone posted on when the home is officially ours. Our lender thinks we can close before Christmas! I can email more specifics to those who want them. I don't like to give a whole lot of info on the blog since it's not private.

Cereal Time

OK, I actually did it. Well, Mark did. We started giving Piper cereal. We actually tried to give her cereal 3 weeks ago but wasn't liking it. Mark tried again a few days ago and made the cereal a little thicker and she loves it. She doesn't seem satisfied in the morning until she gets it. This is the earliest I've started my babies on solids but Piper is sucking the bank dry with how much formula she drinks. She just wasn't satisfied with formula. She'll probably be ready for steak in another month or two.

P.S. Did anyone else notice that I only seem to take pictures of Piper when she is wearing this brown polka dot outfit? Hmmm.
