when you see my face hope it gives you hell... hope it gives you hell...

this has been a nightmarish week! also, this will probably be a really long post....

So lets start with the stress level in my life- I'm unbelievably stressed because of the family drama. (remember this moment- this is the first time I've admitted there's family drama on my blog.) I'm going insane! I tried to just not think about it all and distance myself from the entire thing, but I totally can't. I can go for about a week and be totally fine, but then I'll some kind of huge nervous breakdown. All the drama started when? About Sept 20th? right- so I've been stressed about that to the point where I pretty much stopped going to classes except for tests. I went into 3 tests without even knowing what they were on... got a 68% on one of them... normally I'd be pissed off about that low of a grade, but given the circumstances I was kind of excited about it.

great- so I'm stressed about the family and not going to classes. Lets talk about my academic standing right now at UNC. When I got home from FL I almost flunked out of school, so I was on academic probation. I just got off it last semester. I was very excited- had a little party. Now though? yeah... failing 3/4 of my classes with absolutely no chance of pulling any of them out of the fire... you know what that'll do? yep- make me flunk out of school. Awesome.

So I dropped out of school. I'm so pissed off that it had to come to this. I actually liked my classes this year- they were cool.... but it doesn't matter anymore, because I'm not in any of them.

Okay so lets talk about money. Remember that speeding ticket I got? totally screwed me over for rent. I barely got it put together on the 4th (mind you it was due oct 31). Mom and Dad have been helping me out, which I am very grateful for, but I wish I could do it on my own. bleh....

So I got my rent put together, and I thought I was finally coming out of the weeds a bit, but then I remember I need to drive down to t-town to vote. Not so much a big deal right? wrong. I'm driving in front of my old high school. I know the speed limit is low, I know there are ALWAYS cops everywhere there, I know this is the worst place in the world to speed... so I don't speed. I cannot stress this point enough- I'M NOT SPEEDING!! I remember that the car in front of me was speeding and I thought "they're going to get a ticket... sucks to be them" So I'm almost off 136th -right around the path where all the smokers from Horizon got to smoke- when a cop pulls out and starts flashing his lights at me. I think- I'm not doing anything wrong, he must have just gotten a call, so I pull over immediately and I'm awkwardly parked on a hill. To my great surprise he pulls over too. He came over and told me I was going 40 in a 25.... two things wrong with that statement- I was going only going 33 and the speed limit was 30. I had just checked my speed!! I know how fast I was going!! He told me it's a school zone, so the fine will be higher... but I swear I didn't see it labeled as a school zone. I asked to see his radar, and it indeed did show that he had caught someone going 40, but I wasn't speeding! again- the car in front of me was, but I was not. He said that he caught me going 40 over by where the speed first changed to 25 and that I didn't slow down until traffic made me slow down.... okay.... again- two things wrong with that statement... if he caught me going 40 over by where he says he did then he really must just have super-human powers to know which car he caught speeding... there's a hill between where I was "speeding" and where he was, so he couldn't actually see me.... second thing wrong with that statement, and I know I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but he just described what the car in front of me did... not me.... oh- one more thing wrong with that statement- he can't charge me with speeding in a school zone for me speeding over there, it's not a school zone over there... just because you pull me over in a school zone doesn't mean I committed a crime in a school zone.

So I got a ticket. For not doing anything. Bastard.

After I got the ticket I drove home, still needed to go vote. I called Dad and was in the midst of a panic attack- pretty sure first time dad's ever talked to me in the midst of a panic attack... I JUST GOT MY RENT! and now I have to pay this ticket!!! I'm fighting it, but what if I don't win? I'm totally screwed financially!!!

Which brings me to another reason to drop out- I need to work more so that I can afford rent.... Actually I probably need another job to pay rent...

I warned you this would be a long post. haha... hope you read it!

I may have a bit of a problem

I was assigned to write a paper comparing a modern movie to a fairy tale. I chose Pan's Labyrinth and Cinderella. The connections are all there, I have it all in my head... I'm doing good...

the bad part? I can't actually settle down and write it.. even know I came to the computer lab so that I wouldn't have as many distractions. Totally backfired. The Internet works better here. I'm more distracted then ever.

I still have to write a paper for my CRJ class on my ride along, I have an ART test on Thursday, the following Thursday I have an SOC test and a CRJ test.... and this paper due in my ENG class... yeah... I think it's safe to say I'm a bit overwhelmed right now... Lord knows I handle that well. (sense the sarcasm?)

most rediculously unbelievable day...

Oh my gosh...

So- my roommate, Becky, from FL is in town this weekend. She and her friend Emily decided to fly over for the Great American Beer Festival. We went to Hippie town this morning and toured the tea factory. Emily apparently really likes Meade so after the tea factory we went to the meadery. It was interesting, and the guy running the tour was pretty funny. All and all a good morning.

We got back to the hotel downtown at about 4:30 and I decided I should probably leave to go visit mom so they could get ready to go to the beer fest. Becky gave me her GPS for the trip. Thank God she did! I had barely gotten onto I-25 when my windshield wiper broke-- did I mention that it was pouring rain? No? Well it was... it was coming down so bad. I had to get off I-25 so I pulled off at the next exit. I tried to pull over on the side of the road, but seeing as how I couldn't see at all I ended up just pulling into a sidewalk and scraping up the underside of my car pretty good. Awesome.

Oh- but it gets better. I eventually get to a little parking lot and I stop to try and figure out if I can fix the car or if I'm going to need to call someone for help. I came to the conclusion that there was nothing I could do so I called mom, dad and chaelomen. Dad and chaelomen weren't in an area where they had any cell phone service so I tried to figure out a different way to get home (mom didn't know where I was so she couldn't come save me). I eventually remembered my friend Meagan lived downtown for a year so she'd probably know where I was, so I gave her a call. I told her where I was and she said, "Oh shit- yeah... I'm leaving right now." Seems I wasn't in the safest area.

While I was waiting for her a car pulled up next to me and a bunch of thug-ish looking guys piled out. They all just stared at me and the car for a few minutes and then went into the restaurant I was parked outside of. A few minutes later they came out holding a large amount of food, put the food in the car, and then stared at me for a while longer. Then they started to walk circles around my car!!! I was on the phone with Becky and the entire time I was freaking out. I don't know why, but eventually the guys all stopped and got back in their car and drove away. At this point I'm sufficiently freaked out, so I called Meagan to find out how far away she was. Turns out she only thought she knew where I was and she was now lost. We talked on the phone for a while and tried to help her find where I was. Eventually we decided that she should stop and I'd come to her. The rain had let up a bit so I figured I could drive as long as I didn't get on the freeway. We both kind of assumed she was only about 5-10 mins away from me... maybe just up the street but confused enough by stupid downtown driving that she should stop. We were wrong. It took me about 15 minutes to get to her and I did end up driving on I-70 the entire time. In the rain. With no windshield wipers. Thank God for the GPS! I am sure I'd still be lost if Becky hadn't loaned it to me tonight! I was pretty sure I was going to die tonight- either death by thugs or death by car accident due to inclement weather...

I'm pretty sure more happened... but I've been awake since 5:30 this morning and I'm very tired... I don't actually remember anymore... maybe I'll expand upon this tomorrow, but probably not. meh...

maybe I should drive slower...

so carolyn, frik, and the baby came up to see me today. We went out to dinner. Afterwards they came to my house and gave the baby a bath- I gave carolyn some shirts and pants... when it came time for them to leave I gave them directions and sent them on their way.... a few minutes later they called me. Not only were they lost, but they were lost in a pretty bad neighborhood in Evans... a not so nice city to begin with...

So I went to find them and show them where to get onto 85. Afterwards I'm driving home and I get pulled over! apparently I'm going 45 in a 25 zone... in my defence I'm never down that far south, so I really didn't know I was speeding...

no worries though- I got off with a warning... haha... suckas!

for berserk

I'll write about the rest of the ride along later, but I thought berserk would like this picture seeing as how he and his friends really seemed to want to take a picture of me sitting on some metal pig....

and on that note- I'm off to work :)

oh yeah- one more thing

Last night while I was helping Cindy do her math homework this problem came up.... for any of you who have ever helped me with my math homework you know I'm unbelievably bad at word problems.... and this one did me in....

Jon has 50 lbs of nuts worth $2/lb. He wants to mix them with some amount of nuts (x) worth $6/lb to create a new mix of nuts worth $5/lb. Solve for x.

How the heck do you set up that problem?? I already know the answer from the back of the book, and it makes sense... and I understand why that would be the answer... but I don't actually know how to solve for it...

by the way dad- I did actually solve a good amount of these problems without calling you last night... this one just did me in...

blah...

So last night at work we had a group of 60 girls come in to eat. Apparently Rush week is over on campus and an entire sorority came in to eat to celebrate or something like that... I've never really understood the draw of greek life.... whatever though, they were good tippers...

Last night when I got home from work it was about midnight and I had a test today that I wasn't really ready for. I was up studying till about 5 AM... studying and helping Cindy with some math homework... and calling dad for help with math homework. I set my alarm to wake up this morning and go to class, but I didn't hear it... maybe it didn't go off, maybe it went off and I actually didn't hear it... either way I should probably invest in a new alarm clock. This seems to be the second time I haven't woken up for something pretty important. Last Saturday my alarm clock didn't go off/ I slept through it and I missed a meeting at work. I was written up... kind of still waiting for the ax to fall, but I don't know if it will. I think I do still have a semi-secure job. Stupid alarm clock... time for a new one for sure...

Also- My computer is broken! Again! NOOOO!!!!!

anyone still check this thing?

seems I've been MIA for a while now... I'm back now- no worries.

so much has happened in the last couple of weeks, I don't even know where to start.

School started 2 weeks ago. My schedule was a nightmare... I work all day Monday and Friday, go to school from 9:30-8 Tuesday and Thursday, had doctors appointments Wednesday morning and work Wednesday night... nightmare... so I rearranged it a little bit... Now on Tuesday Thursday I start at 11 and go to 8. Still a long day, but not as bad.... I had to drop one of my English classes anyways. It seemed interesting enough, but it was sooo much work. It was Lit by and about women, and the books our teacher had us buy all seem interesting enough, but there were a lot of them... I bought 8 and still had a few more to buy... basically the class involved reading a novel and writing a 3-5 page paper on it every week. Somewhere in there you also need to write a 10-15 page paper on a book of your choice, but she recommends Jane Eyre. The work load is do-able, but only if school is the only thing you have going on in life.... I have other things going on so I dropped it and picked up sociology instead. Hopefully it goes better for me.

Last week I had a fleeting romance... not fleeting enough...

I went on this date with a guy I'll call JC. JC is a nice guy, and up until our date and the following days I thought he was fairly normal. Our first date went well enough... the next day he asks me if I want to go for a walk when I get home from work, so we go and we talk about the night before. I ended up telling him that I just needed to take things really slow... he says that's fine... then he told me he wants me to meet his family. I start thinking "that's the opposite of going slow... awesome... don't want to do this..." so I dance around that a little and he drops it... the next day he calls me and asks me if I want to go to Mexico with him. I thought he was joking. I thought he was making a very awkward joke. He wasn't. He was totally serious.... I told him no and he told me to think about it and get back to him by Christmas. JC told me that he didn't think I'd go- he said I seem like the kind of girl who needs to get to know people better before I take vacations with them... what other kind of girl is there?? Weird....

So I talked to my roommates about it and all of them are telling me that this all sounds totally normal to them... I can write off everything he did as awkward and probably didn't come out the way he meant it to, but I don't care! Even if he didn't mean it the way it came out it was still weird... and not normal... Camilla told me that all the guys she dates jokes around with her about getting married and going on vacations and meeting his family and crap like that... but those are guys she is actually dating, not guys she went on ONE date with. Anyways- I talked to JC and I told him it's best if we just stay friends.... my roommates were not happy with me...

by the way- there are a lot of details from the JC Chronicles that I left out.... I don't know how strange it all sounded here, but rest assured it was very strange. anyone who wants the full story need only IM/call me and I tell you....

lesbians are everywhere!

title get your attention? good.

So today I was talking to a chef I used to work with in FL and my old manager came up in conversation.. The chef told me that she was surprised to hear that I was keeping in touch with this person. Apparently she thought that this person and I had been dating. the clincher- this manager was a girl... Apparently the chef thought I was a lesbian.... weird thing- apparently she wasn't the only person who thought the manager and I would have made a good couple... that was actually something I had heard from a few other people before. oh the rumors that went around about me in FL....

In other news- I bought a few books about coping with Anxiety and crap like that. I'm typically a skeptic about self-help books of that nature, but I figured I should give something new a try to help me deal with my anxiety... so far one of the books seems like it'll be okay and is full of good suggestions. the other one kind of seems like total crap.... oh well- you win some you lose some, right?

Dudes I just opened mine eyes, and lo! I have not updated this since Paris Hilton was in jail... You would not believe how much more of a drama I could make that. My bad...

I am tied up with discovering time doesn't stand still, sleeping, just generally being a doormat to my employer, my day is full to overflowing from mid-morning to sun down and beyond. I am not complaining though. life happens.I swear on the bones of my ancestors I will try to remember my blog password more often in future. Seriously... No Joke.

I'm the luckiest person in the world....

why? because I got the dumbest cop in the world...

So I was driving home today from mom and dad's, and when I got about half way home I got pulled over. He tells me I'm going 63 in a 50 mph area... my bad... He asked me for my license and registration so I hand him my license and realize I have no idea where my registration is b/c I was driving my dad's car. I found in in the cup holder and handed it to him. He left to go do whatever it is cops do with that in his car, then came back a few minutes later to tell me that he was going to give me a ticket, but today is my lucky day. Seems he was out of ticket pads. I called dad to tell him what happened, and he said "I don't keep my registration in my cup holder." We start to wonder what I handed him. When I got home I looked at it closer. Turns out I handed him the expired registration and proof on insurance from David's pick-up. Least observant cop in the history of cops...

Dad wonders if he was only impersonating a police officer...

and to think... I've been wasting it on my eyelashes...

too much time on hands or too much bbq sauce?

SO I was going to go online to download MS paint. For some reason I don't have it on my computer and I am constantly trying to figure out how to get certain projects done without it, but to no avail. Anyways- While I was doing the search I happened to come upon this video. Pretty cool... or something...

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The West

Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.

it's about time...

So I've lived in the house I'm in for a little over a year now, and today I finally unpacked.

I've been mostly unpacked for a while now, but for the most part I don't have a problem living out of boxes or suitcases or anything.... I didn't have a dresser for a long time so my clothes were just in boxes and I figured when I got a dresser I'd put my clothes away and be done with it all. I finally got a dresser a week or two ago (thanks mom) and got my stuff all put together. Looking around the room all I need now is a bookshelf. I went online and looked at those- they're crazy expensive. Totally not worth it.... anyone know what those cube things in mom and Samara's closest are called? they seem good enough for my purposes...

so I'm pretty much moved into my house... unfortunately I've only done this in time to get ready to pack up my stuff and move to Orlando (California didn't pan out). Oh well... better late than never...

the marijuana story...

first to berserk- I'm kind of surprised I brought this up too... true to form though, no one knew about it but you and chaelomen...

okay so I guess it was about 4 months ago now, some friends from work were all getting together for a goodbye party for one of the Hostesses who was moving that week. The girl throwing the party, Megan, was in a pretty bad relationship. Very Abusive guy, alcoholic- the works. So I got there and Megan was already pretty drunk when Joe came in. (Joe being her boyfriend) Joe was clearly pissed off about something, apparently he had threatened to beat Megan up right before I had gotten there if she didn't give him his car keys. He was plastered-- had absolutely no right to be driving. Megan didn't give him the keys, but he kind of ripped them out of her hand. Right after I got there he stole her car and totaled it in the parking lot right next to their apartment. He drove the car home and came inside the apartment and went to bed. A few minutes later the cops showed up. Someone had called in the accident and they came over to find out whose car was totaled and to find out who was driving. Once the cops came Megan, Audra (the girl who was moving) and I all stayed outside pretty much the rest of the night. Megan b/c it was her house, and me and Audra b/c we were the only ones who were sober.

which brings me to the marijuana...

While all of us were in the front yard talking to the cops, directly up wind of us was one of the hosts smoking marijuana. The cop pretended not to notice... but it was pretty obvious... One of the bartenders went outside to get the who was smoking to come inside so the smell wouldn't be so obvious. When the cops left Megan, Audra and I all went back inside and tried to calm Megan down a bit. I got a bit of second-hand smoke off of the guy who was smoking and the next morning I took a shower but couldn't get the smell out of my hair, but even worse no matter how much I brushed my teeth I couldn't get the taste out, and every time I coughed (or breathed) it'd come back full-force.... yep... I went to church like this... the bishop had a chat with me... when I told him what actually happened he just laughed and told me to let him know if Megan needed any help... good times...

I don't think I ever did this so here it goes!

1. What were you doing 10 years ago?
10 years ago I would have been 10... I would have been in fifth grade? Forth Grade? meh... I was probably hanging out with Meagan and Alicia (the bride)

2. Five things on my "To Do List" today:
1. exercise 2. pack to go home 3. go get some lab work done 4. go to a doc. appt. 5. buy t-shirts for Relay for Life

3. Snacks I enjoy:
Ice cream, chips and salsa,

4. What would I do if suddenly I was a billionaire?
quit chilis, move to the New England area

5. Three bad habits: I swear a lot... I slouch.... I bite my nails

6. Five places I've lived:
Sandy, Thornton, Greeley, Florida.... different house in Greeley

7. Five jobs I've had:
1- some pet care thing Caroyln and I did together. 2- babysitter. 3- random computer work for Faulkner 4- Disney 5- Chilis

8. Five things that MOST people don't know about me:
1- I have been so high from paint fumes and anxiety medication that I don't remember anything about the weekend I painted my house except 3 things: I ate an entire batch of brownie batter while sitting on my kitchen floor, I went out to dinner with my roommates and for some reason thought it was a good idea to follow our waiter around when we needed his help (don't worry-- we tipped good.... really good...), and lastly-- the next day at church I felt it was a good idea to bear my testimony. I don't remember a single thing I said, but I'm told it was hilarious. I haven't taken my anxiety meds since.
2- I fell asleep during the ACTs... and still got a 22
3- I always think I'm going to get fired from my job
4- I tried to join the Army and was turned away b/c of my asthma
5- okay- there's a very long story that goes along with this one, and I can tell it later, but I don't feel like it right now... seeing as how it's 2:30 in the morning..... I one time had to go have a talk with the bishop because I went to church smelling... nay wreaking of marijuana. Because of this and no. 1 some people at church think I'm a drug addict... I am not for the record...

Tag 5 People: everyone was already tagged I think.... but I don't think Chaelomen did it, so Chaelomen and Levi (one day I will get levi to do one of these). Audrey if she reads this too (bet that sounds weird to whoever doesn't know there are 2 audreys)

Stressed!

So relay for life is coming up pretty soon here, and most of my team has backed out. Jerks. If any of you feel like joining a team last minute, I could totally use the walkers...

in other news- I've been talking to my friend brooke a lot lately, and she's planning on going to Anaheim and doing a college program with Disneyland. I think I want to do that too... I know any of you who know much about my experience in FL must think I'm on crack and think that's a horrible idea, and to be honest, it may be... but I want to do it anyway... Sure is a good way to get out of my house :)

I don't really think I have any other news, it had just been a long time since I posted anything...

hooray!!

My teachers finally posted grades-- anthro D, art history B, and English A!!

that may not sound great what with the D in there, but it is!!! I'm off academic probation!!! yay!!

DARN YOU TIM TANG!!

I am totally addicted to the Tim Tang Test. I didn't think I would be, but I am. I am actually pretty excited because I finished like... 5 levels today. That may not seem like a lot, but it is... trust me... it really is... If any of you are interested, and I recommend that you at least try it... here it is http://www.timtang.com/ttt/

sweet- so in other news the wedding is in 2 days. I'm so excited for it to be over!! Levi- I tried to IM you the other day, but it was after I had Tim Tanged for a while, so it was probably really late, but can you take pictures? Not the official pictures for the bride of anything, just pictures so that my family can see the beauty that is this wedding... hah... we can scrape book them for Samara together hah....

Anyways- I wasn't going to share this story till after the wedding, b/c I didn't think Levi should know about it till this is all over, but it's just so funny... and so gross... and so disturbing that I had to share. Chaelomen, MJ, and Berserk already know, but Carebear, Sukie, Guildylocks, Frik, and Levi don't yet so here it goes! I went to the bridal shower and bachelorette party last Saturday and the other maid of honor turned to me when we were en route to the bachelorette party and said, "Hey I would never ask anyone but you this question, but I really want to know... what are Mormon's views on threesomes?" I told her that they were not allowed and that they were typically seen as adultery and she said "oh darn... hmm... you know... I'm kind of bi-curious" I just looked at her and said "huh... good to know... i guess..." It was then that I decided I want this wedding to be over very very soon.... Michael said this later, and I had already wondered about it, but if I had said Mormons were okay with threesomes she might have asked me??? GROSS!!! I've known this girl since 1st grade-- you would think she'd know me better!!

yep. that's all. my Internet is turned back on. the end.

stupid everything....

So my Internet is turned off... lame. I came to the computer lab at school to write an essay-- actually to write 2 essays. I finished one and turned it in, but the other one is kicking my butt. It's supposed to be an argumentative essay. It can be on anything I want it to be on... I need to turn it in ASAP but no later then Thursday. I FREAKING CAN'T THINK OF A TOPIC!!! I've been trying to figure one out for the last few hours- I googled it. Got a lot of crap ideas. Can't find a good one.... I hate it when people ask me to write that kind of crap.... if you have any good ideas text me and let me know- maybe tonight will be ANOTHER all-nighter so I can write this thing...

In other news, that man that called me fat came into work again. It was actually really funny- I was totally expecting him to do it again, so I wasn't too shocked when he called me fat this time. I told a few people at work, and they made me go tell my manager. My boss was sooo mad.... he went out and had a little chat with the man telling him that he finds the way he was speaking to me to be very disrespectful. The man responded with "oh that doesn't mean anything. I'm just an old bastard. She's actually a nice girl." whatever... My boss responded to that with something like "I'm going to need to ask you to refrain from talking to our waitstaff in this manner again." The man was so angry that my boss came out to talk to him that he only tipped me 5% on his ticket... hah... I laughed about that for a solid 5 minutes. When I was talking to my boss about it later he told me to take comfort in the fact that I'm not a shit-head like this man. Everyone (including my boss) spent the rest of the night making fun of this guy.... what a douche-bag. Best thing about this all-- he took his receipt this time... I really hope he goes online and complains about this. I would LOVE to see what he would say... "we called our waitress fat and she got offended. She sent out the manager and he yelled at us. although the service was good, we will never return to this location." I hope he does it.... loser....

alright- now in other, other news.... my date to the wedding backed out. seems he requested the wrong day off of work, so he can't go... whatever.

Relay for Life is coming up, so I started freaking out about fundraising, and I came up with a GREAT idea!! I'm going to have charity garage sale! It'll be so much fun! All I need is more stuff to sell- I have a few items, but for the most part I really don't have much. I'm going to ask around at the institute and also probably make fliers and pass them out to my neighbors. Anyone have anything they want to give me?

Also- the wedding is in one month from today! hah- it'll be so great! The other maid of honor said that when she gets married she wants to do it at the Ren Fest, so I should save the dress and it can be my dress for her wedding... haha... in my life time I will have been in two renaissance themed weddings! that's ridiculous! Honestly- if she is also going to have a themed wedding the least she could do is pick a different theme! I've already done renaissance... Star trek maybe?

My roommates and I were watching this band's videos for hours a few days ago- they are so funny...

wha-?

I was proofreading a paper for Sara when I came upon this sentence

"He states in the introduction to Secret Judgments of God, that in essence this involves the idea that a disease introduced among populations which never before had experienced the illness, or which had been free from it for so long that any acquired immunity had disappeared, will be attacked in a massive onslaught, with no age group or sex spared infection (Borah 1991: 8)."

what?

by the way- no intro to this sentence- it stands alone in the paper...

my... other... near death experience...

So when I first got my license I was really skittish about driving at night by myself. I was always really paranoid that there was someone in my back seat. I have since gotten over this fear.

This one time I was driving to seminary, which started at 5:45 in the morning, and I needed to go pick up this girl named Emily. For those of you know don't know Emily, she is very petite... she might have weighed 100 pounds and she was about 5'6. I was on my way to pick her up when I saw a shadow in my back seat. It was still dark outside and I couldn't figure out what had cast the shadow, so I started panicking... a lot...

When I got to Emily's house I opened the door to try to get out and check out the back seat, but the shoulder belt was moving so slow and I couldn't get out! I ended up pawing my way through the seat belt and I fell out of the car. At this point I'm certain someone is in my car- so I slowly get up and turn to see who it is... there's on one in my back seat, but they had plenty of time to get out while I'm struggling to get out of the car.... then someone TAPS MY BACK!!! dun dun dun..... I screamed and turned around it's EMILY!!!! then I panic some more and faint....

Yep.... I fainted at the sight of at 100 pound girl... by the way- if your curious, the shadow was cast by a stop sign...

my near death experience

Today I had to go into work to get my work schedule and when I got home I sat in my car for a second to look through it and plan out my week. I eventually got out of the car and went up to my house- I should tell you that I was the only one home... that's kind of an important point in the story...

So I was on the phone with Bridget and I suddenly heard this really loud sound coming from my basement and the floors kind of shook a little bit. I told her it sounded like something exploded in my basement. I was hoping the sound came from outside so I looked out the window and saw an extension cord going around my house.I was a bit confused, and I went outside (the front door) to follow the cord and found it going around my house (I still don't know what the cord is doing there). As I was following the cord I came upon something that caused me to panic -- THE BACK DOOR WAS OPEN!!!

Okay- so at this point I've gone beyond panicking and tell Bridget that I have to go! I went over to my landlords house and his wife opens the door. She asks me what's wrong, and I tell her, "there's someone in my house!" She started to laugh and said that her husband is over there fixing a leak we have in our pipes. She said he knocked a few times, but no one was home so he let himself in to fix it.

I nearly had a heart attack... he scared me so much!

catering

So last semester when I started school up the restaurant cut my hours almost in half because my availability was so bad. Then I dropped out though, so I got all my hours back and I was fine. This semester when I went back I figured the restaurant would cut my hours again, so I was proactive in the matter and got a second job with the university. Turns out though by taking a semester and working only I made myself into a bit of a staple waitress and when I went back to school my hours weren't cut at all, so now I find myself working 40-50 hours (at least) a week at the restaurant, going to school full time, and then working for catering when the schedule me, normally about 8 hours a week at about 6 am... pretty overwhelming. The only reason I hadn't quit the second job was because I felt so bad about it- my boss is really nice, totally willing to work with your schedule, and I really hadn't worked there very long.

Yeah- I got over all that. I gave my two weeks notice today. The work load is killing me! Last Thursday I worked a straight 13 hours! On Friday I worked at 6am for catering, worked until class at 11, went to class, got home about 12 and died on my couch. I didn't wake up until about 5:30 when my boss from the restaurant called me to ask me if I was okay b/c I was 30 mins late to work... I went in and everything was fine. It was then that I decided the $50 I make at catering a month reeeaaallly isn't worth it....

Let's all go to the Armadillo!

http://www.renstore.com/ItemMatrix.asp?GroupCode=CHI1055&eq=&MatrixType=1

for those of you who haven't seen it, there's a picture of my dress and now the shoes... pretty....

Last friday I went out to eat with my old roommate. I actually already wrote about part of the day, we went out to eat right after she told me I looked dead. I haven't been working a lot lately, so I was kind of reluctant to go out, but she really wanted to go and offered to pay for me so I went. I'm really not one to turn down free food...

First we sit down, the waiter comes over and asks us what we'd like to drink. I was about to say that I just wanted water, when my old roommate says that we'd like two waters and two shirley temples. He says okay, walks away and she turns to me and says "hope you like shirley temples!" just fyi- I don't.... sprite is the drink I drink when I'm sick, so when I'm healthy I don't really like it... then she turns to me and says "what appetizer do you want?" I told her I was fine without one, but she insists that I either pick option A or option B. I say okay... uh... option B. The waiter comes back with our drinks, and she orders option A. I was fine with either, but I still thought it was strange... At this point I'm beginning to wonder if I'll be allowed to even my own food, so when the waiter asked what we wanted I wasn't sure if I should talk... I did order what I actually wanted, my old roommate ordered her second choice because they didn't have her favorite thing anymore (and they hadn't for at least 2 years) and she starts to pout because we went to this restaurant when they didn't even have anything that she liked. I should point out that when she asked me where I wanted to go I said "I don't care- you can pick. I'm not at all picky. I have no preference. Where ever you want to go (et cetra)." Anyways- the food comes out and the waiter says something along the lines of "looks like you need more bread sticks, I'll be right back" My old roommate thinks that the waiter just called us pigs for finishing off the first thing of bread sticks. He brings us more, and she gets progressively meaner to him- he hasn't actually done anything wrong though, so I'm getting more uncomfortable because I feel bad for him. The rest of the meal passes by, my old roommate decides to eat some of my food. At this point I decide to just let her- she paid for it, so I'm not out anything... it's just not really a social norm... and it's annoying, but whatever- let her do it.... The waiter came over, tried to talk us up a bit hoping to save his tip (mind you- if ANYONE ELSE had paid he wouldn't have had anything to worry about) dropped off the check- we paid and left. When we got outside my old roommate told me that she thought our waiter was really weird and she didn't tip him very good. An extremely good tip for this girl is about 15% so her saying she didn't tip well means she left about 5% or less. I was pretty pissed.

We got into the car and she starts out by saying "you know where else they have bad service? the armadillo! Yeah I'm never eating there again!!" I asked her what happened there, and basically she said they potion sizes were to small and they were overpriced. She said that she and her mom had eaten there and they ended up yelling at the waitress and they wouldn't even give her a discount on the food. So basically- you yelled at the peon of the company for something corporate controls. Pretty much you just killed the messenger... also you're going to stop eating in your favorite restaurant because one night you had a 'bad' experience? She then *tried to* forbid me from eating there again...

...I never really eat there anyways, but maybe I'll start.

wtf?

The last couple of weeks people have been saying things to me... things that I have to just wonder why anyone would say such things to anyone... just mean things to say. Today it happened again- I was just caught so totally off guard.

I do my make-up the same pretty much everyday. I don't wear a LOT of make-up, but enough that you can tell I have eyeshadow on... on my face I really don't wear much at all, so my skin is pretty much natural... just a little evened out a bit. So today I walked into the institute, say hi to my old roommate and her response? "your makeup makes you look dead. Your eyes are too dark. You have bags and dark circles. Your skin looks way to light- makes you look like a corpse."

What?? I was caught so off guard... what do you even say to that? I really didn't respond... I didn't know how... After standing there dumb-struck for a second she went on to say that my shirt (which is yellow) makes me look jaundiced...

So then, a couple of weeks ago I asked a guy at work if he'd like dessert (by the by- I'm a waitress). He said no because he didn't want to get as fat as I am. He was totally serious... I asked... there was no joking...

Again-- WHAT?? are people confusing me with someone else? Maybe someone who has an extraordinary amount of self esteem and can handle remarks like that? I don't think anyone CAN handle remarks like that!!

Seriously- if I'm ever making a joke about how hot I look it's at a time when I am SO OBVIOUSLY joking! Like me saying I look hot in my bridesmaid dress for an upcoming wedding I'm in- I am being so sarcastic! I don't think anyone would look good in that dress! Anyone who has seen pictures can second that.... it's just not pretty...

By the way- I spoke to my current roommate and she says I don't look dead. I realize I'm pale, but dead? REALLY???

first post?

So I made this because I kind of felt like writing a few thoughts, but in making it, I forgot which thoughts I was going to write... hence this may be the most random/ long post ever. That being said, it may also be the only post ever... so it evens out!

So I've been sick the past couple of weeks and I'm just barely getting to a point where my breathing scores reflect how healthy I feel. I've felt fine for the past few days, but just barely today I'm actually really breathing well. I bring this up because today is the first day I've really done anything. Today I went to the bank. I realize this doesn't sound like the most exciting outing, but it really was. Before I went to the bank I had to have a reason to go, right? so I had to go get my pay-check.

I have 2 jobs. One of them pays fine, and I'd probably be totally fine with only this job, but I still took the other one thinking a bit of extra money would be nice. Today I re-evaluated that. I've worked there for about a month now. I don't work many hours, but I still was working enough to make it worth it (or so I thought). For an entire month my paycheck was only $50. Totally not worth it... I'll probably quit.

so that wasn't too long... I probably have more to say, but I have class tomorrow so I won't say it all now.
