So my mouth is beginning to feel better now, but I'm super bored. I haven't left my house for a couple days now, and Betty is so excited about it. She's been pretty worried so she has been right next to me ever since I got home from the dentist. It's cute... but I'm ready to be out of the house and not have her constantly bringing me and endless line of tennis balls.

Dentist appt
so I had a dentist appt a couple days ago- I thought just for a cleaning and a referral to an Oral Surgeon. Dr. Call looked at my x-rays and looked at my wisdom teeth and decided it really had to come out asap. I wasn't complaining- it had been causing me so much pain. Now I'm remembering why I hated having the first one out though.... While this extraction went much smoother than the first one, it still was a difficult extraction. I had an incredibly hard time calming down because of how the first extraction went, so dr. call gave me Nitrous. That stuff is awesome.... Laughing gas doesn't even begin to describe it! It did the trick though, and did in fact calm me down. After that the process went much smoother.

Game night!
Last night Carolyn, Frik, Alice, Jack, and Widget came to my house to play games with me and Sam. The original plan was to play Little Big Planet, but sam gave carolyn a game called Split Decision for christmas, and we ended up playing that all night instead. It's a really fun game- I'm glad Sam got it :) Everyone got to the house around 8 and stayed till about midnight. I was so tired at work today, but it was totally worth it!
In other news- David and Sarah got me a Chinese brush paint set for christmas this year, and I opened it up and tried it today. It's so much fun! I painted a few orchids, and a bird. I didn't take any pictures (at least not with the good camera), but I'm pretty proud of how they turned out for my first attempt. I've only tried black and white pictures so far, but I think I'll open up the colors and try them tomorrow. I'm probably going to have to go to Michaels or Hobby Lobby on my next paycheck and get more stuff :)

Remodeled Kitchen!!
Today I remodeled my kitchen!!
Sam and I live in a house built in the early 1900s, and the previous (and original) owner was his late grandmother. Sam's dad is letting us live in the house rent free while sam is in school. Pretty sweet deal. Only problem is, it's still decorated the way Sam's grandma had it decorated. Today we went to Ross and bought a bunch of stuff to remodel it. I didn't take any before pictures, but suffice it to say, the decorations were not pretty. They weren't ugly- they were just so old! the curtains around the window were made of lace and completely covered 2 walls, and there were roosters and chickens everywhere. I only really redid the dining area today, and I think I'll do more in the next couple weekends, but I felt pretty accomplished for how much I DID do :)
In the future, I want to get rid of the strawberry wallpaper and paint the walls. I'm sure if I do that all, pictures of that will follow :)

Merry Christmas!
Sam and I had such an awesome Christmas this year! We decided to tell each other exactly what we wanted, so there wasn't a surprise coming from each other, but the anticipation was so awesome!
Sam woke up this morning around 6 and waited till 7 to wake me up. He jumped on the bed yelling "it's christmas!!! wake up!!!" So I got up, and we got ready to go down to Mom and Dad's house. We spent the morning there and had an awesome time. Then we went over to Sam's dad's house to have brunch with them. After brunch we drove back to our house, tidied up a little bit, and drove back to mom and dad's house for dinner. All the while the dog was with us. She did so good in the car all day- I was so impressed, and pleasantly surprised. We were nervous to bring her to meet Alice, but as long as Sam or I was there with her, she did fine. It was SOO cute to see Alice play fetch with Betty. Also adorable- when alice went over to sam and asked to sit on his lap.
As good as Christmas was, Christmas eve was that chaotic. We woke up to Betty peeing on her blanket... so we punished her, took her out, and threw her blanket in the washer. Once our washer hit the rinse cycle, we were in for a nasty surprise. Water started spraying out of the back of the washer, and our kitchen started flooding. We got all the dirty towels in the house, threw them on the floor and spent the morning sqeegie-ing the water into the towels. Then we did our dishes. We had a goal to completely clean our kitchen by christmas day. It was a daunting task when you consider we don't have a dishwasher, or garbage disposal, and our water only stays hot enough to do dishes for about 45 minutes at a time. Not to mention, ever dish in our house was dirty. It took us most of the morning, but we did finish the dishes! We had to go to the store to do some last minute christmas shopping, and before we left we decided to take out the pup. She instantly rolled in some poo and we had to give her a bath.
It has been a hectic couple of days, but it's been a lot of fun! Merry Christmas everyone!

New Job!
Okay... today I'll start my month for real :)
So I started a new job about a month ago. I graduated in Oct, and happened to find a brand new practice looking to hire a new grad MA ASAP. Only job ever where experience isn't necessarily a good thing. I've been doing mostly admin work for the last month. It's all been really easy stuff- and I've been able to do it all pretty quickly up until yesterday when our Electronic Medical Records (henceforth refered to as EMR) decided to crap out on us and randomly start to delete old chart notes. So I spent 6 hours doing what normally takes me 1 hour. I had to go though everyone's chart and all our old schedule to figure out which soapnotes were missing, and compile a large list. Right now we've worked it out so we're only missing about a dozen notes... A DOZEN!!! That's so many!!! AND WE WORKED IT DOWN TO THAT!!!!! Needless to say, it's been a huge headache, but i think we've finally gotten a handle on the situation. Luckily, all the missing notes were backed up on a seperate EMR, so nothing was lost permanently. Unluckily, our EMR isn't the greatest at uploading new notes... We contacted our host, and they said we have an update scheduled on Thursday that will probably work out all the kinks in our EMR and save me from wasting so much time trying to find old notes.
Otherwise, things are going good... betty's still having accidents though, so we're still trying to figure out why she's being so annoying and peeing everywhere. Stupid dog anxiety.... Good thing she's cute....

one solid month
So I was talking to Sukie yesterday about how I want to get the biggest loser up and running again... and she doesn't think I'll blog if she does! I can understand why she may thing that.
So I told her I'd have one solid month of blogging and then she said she'd get it going again. Today is day no.1, but I'm getting a migraine and I still have 4 hours left at work, so today's post will be pretty short.

the puppy
So for those who don't know, Sam and I got a dog. She is adorable :) Half border collie, half aussie. She acts full border collie- totally energetic and loves to play fetch all day everyday. I've really loved having her...
So here's the problem- when I started my new job (those who don't know, I'm officially a medical assistant now) I started working more hours than I was as a waitress. Little Betty Boop has had to spend a lot more time on her own than she used to. She started acting out by having a ton of accidents, but we broke her of that one pretty quick. Now, she gets so anxious. She's kept me awake all night for 2 nights now... Anyone have any tips on how to get a dog to calm down? I've heard of dog pheromones that you can get in glade plug-in type things, but I don't know anyone who's tried them. Anyone know if they work?

the break in story. and the pants story.
I told Frik I would blog this story, and really- it's the first blog worthy thing that's happened to me in a while so I should have anyways :)
So for those of you who don't know, Sam recently got a new job and works nights. A couple nights ago I was sitting on the couch watching TV while playing a video game on the computer. (I'm a gifted multi-tasker.) The TV and computer were both turned up fairly loud when suddenly I hear something outside. I heard something really really loud coming from outside. Not only coming from outside, but it sounded like it was coming from right behind me. I don't know what exactly it was, but it sounded like someone was throwing something heavy at the side of the house... or at the window and missed... or something. I muted the TV, and shut off the computer and tried to look outside- couldn't see anything. I heard footsteps coming from right under the window and then those stopped, but I heard a car start and drive away.
So I called sam and told him I think someone was just trying to get into the house. He tells me to call the police. It felt like about 20 minutes later, but in all actuality it was probably only about 5, but the police got there sometime soon after. They checked out the yard and the neighborhood and didn't find anything. They told me to call them immediately if I heard anything else. I didn't, but I also didn't calm down for about 4 hours after that... so not till around 5am. the only way I felt safe was to sit between the front door and the back door holding an ax for safety. I know- what the hell am I going to do with an ax... nothing but inevitably hurt myself that is... regardless though I didn't want to set it down, so I carried it around everywhere all night- and I mean everywhere. Even to the bathroom. It's not easy to pee while holding an ax.... just a little bizarre FYI for you...
So now the funny part of the story. I just got a new job and I was supposed to start the following morning. I didn't calm down though till about 5am, so I didn't get to sleep till about 6am... and I was supposed to wake up and get ready for work around 9:30am. I overslept about half an hour, and when I did wake up I was kind of panicked about being late so I got ready really really fast. About 5 minutes before I need to leave Sam looks at me and says "hey did you know you have a hole in your pants?"
OF COURSE I don't know! If I did I wouldn't be wearing them!! I should note here- the job is at a country club and my pants are black slacks. I only owned 2 pairs, and one of them is MIA. I start panicking! I can't wear pants with a hole in the butt, but I can't wear jeans either. So Sam helps me look for my other pair of slacks, and then when I couldn't find them I tried to find a pair of black scrub bottoms that maybe i could wear... and when I can't find those I start to really really freak out. At this point, I should have left about 5 minutes ago and I don't have pants and I'm going to be late for my first day of work. Then I saw a pair of black pants on the bed... they're Sam's work pants. I'm desperate though! I HAVE to get going! So I try them on, thinking that Sam is about 2 inches taller than me so the pants should probably work for a day and then I'll go buy new ones.
Sam may be 2 inches taller than me, but while my height is all in my legs, is is all in his torso. His pants are about 5 inches to short for me. So now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place- hole in butt of pants, or 5 inches of hairy leg showing... I go with the hairy leg.... I pull the pants down as far as they can go without showing any torso, and I only show 2 inches of leg. So I get to work and find my boss. First thing he says to me is "will you tuck in your shirt?" I can't... it doesn't reach... it would if I pulled my pants up, but that leads to a whole new dilemma...
So I told my boss everything that happened the night before and that morning. When I told him I was actually wearing my boyfriends pants he started laughing and told me to go home- get some sleep, buy some pants, and come back the next day to start.
yeah...
Don't know how I could have possibly made a stranger impression...

come on people!
So today I was supposed to have a party up in greeley (for those of you who don't know I've recently started selling Mary Kay)The girl whose party this is has canceled or rescheduled on me so many times I'm getting to the point were I'm thinking it's time to say no more. I had a party with her sister earlier this week, and while the party seemed to go well, it actually totally sucked. It started out with her buying 7 eyeshadows from me, to her buying 3, to her canceling her order all together. I understand financial troubles, so it's not so much that she canceled that bugged me, it's that she first asked me to order about $20 worth of samples for her to try, and then didn't order anything from me. I'm hoping the party with her sister goes better, but I'm not really holding my breath. I don't know if people don't realize (or if they just don't care) that I actually have to buy those samples, but I think I need to figure out some way to avoid this problem in the future.... Some of you have experience in direct sales- any ideas?

just showed mom this :)
I would actually update right now, but for those of you who don't know, I cut my finger pretty bad at work a few days ago, and I'm having a pretty hard time typing when I'm missing a finger. Perhaps I'll blog later. I'll update on why I quit my job and such, but I'll have to wait to do that since I still have nightmares about my last day and I still wake up really really pissed off about it all. So another day! for now, enjoy the sleepwalking dog running into a wall!
