A great weekend!

My weekend started on Thursday last week with a trip to Christmas Village in B'ham! I really love to just walk around and look. I don't pay $70 for an overnight bag or $30 for a small wallet, so I get my enjoyment in finding the cute stuff at inexpensive prices. This adorable shirt for Jaxon came with matching pants and free monogramming for $20.

They put his name on it but could not put "Roll Tide" for some reason. I understand copyright stuff, but the phrase "Roll Tide" can't be copyrighted, can it? Anyways, thanks to easy iron-on letters from Hobby Lobby, I created a perfect Alabama shirt for my little guy.

I have discovered an affordable online boutique store that I buy some of Mallory's clothes from, so I did not get much for her. I will share some other time pics of those precious outfits!!
Meanwhile it never fails that I always see someone from my past at these events. I was so glad this time it was a friend from school, Kaitlin. She had her baby boy, Miller with her, and of course he was precious! It was great to see her and catch up. Overall, the trip was fun as always! I came home and made Mallory a hairbow holder and realized why I don't do things like that very often. It took me an hour to glue 2 pieces of ribbon to a wooden butterfly. Why? One word... Jaxon. He is my prince but is always interested in things he has no business getting into! Such a sweetheart though.
Saturday, we watched the Bama game and I can I just go ahead and give a big ROOOOOOOLLLL TIDE ROLL!!! There's nothing like Bama football Saturdays and watching the Tide play their game well! How many LSU players were injured? Not that I am happy about that, but I am happy that I know our guys played their hearts out! Atlanta, here we come!!The weekend ended yesterday with a wonderful day at church. Great messages, great worship, I only pray that the Father was pleased! Today, I took advantage of my last day of MeeMaw services by cleaning out my car. I discovered a steam cleaner can do wonders! Looks like a brand new car on the inside! Always nice to get into a clean car, right?
Tonight we had family picures made... who KNEW 2 minutes in front of a camera could be so long?! But just in case you don't know this, my Jaxon does not like to sit still for anything unless there is food involved! I can't use food when taking pics though, can I? Nope! So we snapped a somewhat decent shot and should get them in 3 weeks or so. Looking forward to another week and weekend! Mallory goes to school tomorrow, so I can't wait for some productive time on Ebay!

Tis the season

I woke up this morning to a phone call asking me to sub in Mallory's class at KidsFirst. KF is a mothers-day-out program offered through our church and I love it. Not only does Mallory get to socialize and make friends, I get to spend alone time with my second-born, Jaxon, which is very precious to me.

Anyways, I woke up with a somewhat scratchy throat but as the day progressed, it got worse and worse! The sneezing, the twitching eyes, and stuffy nose made for a miserable afternoon. I love this time of year and hate it at the same time. The trees are absolutely beautiful and the weather feels so nice. I love sitting outside in the sun with a cool breeze blowing around me. Just such a relaxed feeling. However, this changing weather kills my allergies. I take this and I take that, but nothing ever helps (unless you call knocking me out to where I can't function as a mom to my kids, "helping"). So I just have to treat symptoms as best as I can. Cough drops and Vicks Vapo-Rub are my friends and I look forward to getting re-acquainted with them over the next few days in the hopes of getting some relief! Ok, so I will stop griping now.:) Tis the season, the allergy season...
My mother-in-law is coming tomorrow and I am so thankful! I do have to say that I have the best mother-in-law in the world. I get so much done when she is here because she tends to the kids while I accomplish the tasks I have been unable to do. But this time around we are going to Christmas Village in B'ham together! I am so excited. This is an annual event for us and I look forward to going every year. We eat delicious food, find great Christmas gifts (more ideas than anything), and fun items for the kiddos. Adam is her only child=Mallory & Jaxon are her only grandchildren=2 spoiled rotten kids! It's always fun though to see what we can find.
Tis the season... I love Christmas and all that revolves around it!!
All of this makes for a fun MeeMaw visit for everyone! I get pretty spoiled to the ability "to run to the store real quick" without packing up the kids in the car, unloading and reloading them from the store and all that jazz! So I am truly grateful for her help when she comes. Looking forward to all the stories I will have to share as well!!

I know I am slow...

Ok, so I have been telling myself for a long time that I need to start keeping a journal again. So many wonderful things have happened in my life and I regret that many of them exist only in my mind now! I am certain I have my Dad's memory because like him, I easily forget things that everyone else remembers. I take pictures on special occasions, but the wonderful everyday events that mean so much are just in my mind now...somewhere! However, I am going to change that now. Technology has left me with no excuse to keep up with these everyday blessings, so I will now be able to keep up with the simple joys of my life as a stay-at-home mom. I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband and precious children. Adam is my best friend, my sweetheart, and partner in life and I give thanks to my Almighty Father for giving him to me. My children are God's ultimate blessings and I can't imagine a life without them!

My firstborn is Mallory Brooke. She just turned 4, and she is literally our princess. She is spoiled and knows it. Last night we were eating at Burger King after church and an older man walked in and looked at Mallory. He said to her "You sure are pretty, you know that?". Mallory's response was "Yeah!" (We are working extra hard lately with the "yes ma'ms and yes sir's"! ). So yes, she is spoiled! She is a precious girl though with a very sweet heart. She loves her friends at school and church and loves playing with any of them when she gets the chance!

Jaxon is 19 months and a whole other world of spoiled. He knows what to do to get what he wants and knows what mood to catch me in. He has recently developed this scream that most times I don't put up with. However, there are those times during the day when I am stretched to my limit and when that scream hits my ears, I will do ANYTHING to make it stop. However, all that being said he is my sweet baby boy and I love everything about him. He is all-boy and brings back out the rambunctious kid in me that loves to wrestle around in the floor and give "horsey" rides on my hands and knees. He is also a red-head and that adds a little spice to the mix!

So with the two of them, life is never dull. Therefore I want to start keeping up with the everyday things they do....the silly sayings, the funny stories, the creative messes, and everything in between! Welcome to my world!! -Karis
