Three months! I'm doing awesome at being consistent. :) Recently I've been working a lot more on getting Paige's stocking sewn. It was a big dream of mine 13 years ago to have pretty cross stitched stockings for my family. Little kids have proved it a more difficult task for me then I imagined. But I've been putting in a lot of time and making progress for Paige.
Since I took this picture I've finished up the dolls on the bed and even started on the foot board of the bed. It's been a good winter project. Hopefully I can keep the motivation going and get it done by Christmas.
My girls all had their parent teacher conferences this week. I'm so grateful for school and teachers who take time to teach my kids. I definitely don't have the training, talent, patience to do what they do all day and I really appreciate their hard work. Brooke is the one that has really surprised me this year. Her burst in reading is so fun. Paige has set a great example for Brooke by reading diligently each night before she goes to sleep. I think that's one of the biggest reasons for Brooke's burst. She now follows Paige's good example and reads each night before settling down to sleep. I might have to switch up roommates in a year or so to help Morgan get the same good example too.
I have a fun group of friends and we meet together monthly for a mom's night. We discuss parenting tips and problems and help each build one another up and find solutions. It's been so uplifting and renewing to be with a great group of women monthly and I'm really pleased with how positive our conversations usually stay. There's lots of laughter and fun but lots of reminders as to why we are working on this crazy job of motherhood.
Garrett has been making progress with his helmet. I'm glad we went forward with getting it for him. He still have a few months ahead of wearing it and I think the worst part really is that I don't get to snuggle against his head because of it. :( Silly huh but you don't really realize how much you rub and touch your baby's head until it's not accessible. Especially since he always really loved a good head rub since he was a newborn.
And last but not least Shawn and I had a blast at the girls' school western night. Traditionally the dads take the daughters and mothers take the sons on separate nights. Since there are three daughters though and only one dad I filled in as an extra dance partner (Paige was a separate hour so she had her dad all to herself). They do square dancing which I think is pretty smart since most dads need someone to tell them each dance move anyways. The girls had a blast and who knows, in five more years I might get to attend the mother/son night too!
