Recently Dallen has learned to spit. He spits everywhere. He spits on the floor, on himself, on me, when he's eating...all the time!! He has learned to work up a big wad in his mouth and spit it on the floor and then proceeds to rub it around and splash in the big pile. SO GROSS!! However, it is HILARIOUS!! This is a little video we captured of him spitting his food. I wanted to discipline and tell him No-No (my favorite thing to say) but I couldn't stop laughing :) Enjoy the disgusting-ness!!

Day Dates and Up-Dates
Dallen loves LOVES loves the outdoors!! Since it is so stinkin' hot here the only way we play outside is in the water!! He loves to go to the pool where he flirts with all the ladies, splashes all around and even tries to drink the water constantly, it drives me nuts :) I love taking my Dallen to the pool, it is so fun watching him play and explore. In other news...As far as updates, Dallen got sick on Thursday. He had a fever in the morning so we took him to the doctor and it turns out he has a viral infection in his throat. The doctor showed us how bright red his throat was, no wonder he was so grumpy!! On the positive side, Dallen is now saying "Mama". He can climb stairs (yikes!) He drinks his sippy cup all by himself. He sleeps through the night (finally!) He weighs over 21 pounds and grows every day!! We love him more than ever and can't wait to take him to see family next week :)

So Long::Farewell
::Goodbye Browns::Our best friends are moving to Utah :( We are so sad to see them go. We hope they know how much we love them and how much they will be missed. For the past 7 months we have done everything together. I couldn't believe how many pictures we have together. There are so many things that we will miss about our best friends...
I know I will miss my girl talks with Charee, the play dates with the kids and kisses from my favorite little girl, Chloers!!
I know Mark will miss reminiscing about the good old times with his best buddy Tanner, watching his son learn all about girls and tender moments shared with the second woman to capture his heart!!
I know Dallen will miss his very first BEST friend. We have all enjoyed watching these two play together and share so many moments of the begining of their lives.
We will miss you all and hope to see you again real soon!! We love you :)

A Happy Daddy's Weekend
I tried my very hardest to give Mark a special 1st Fathers Day weekend!! Basically he got to do all of the things that I never "let" him do :) On Friday Dallen and I went to his work to take him out to lunch. His boss was in such a good mood after seeing Dallen's precious face (can't blame him) he let everyone go home early. Friday night would've been better if it hadn't been for me falling down the stairs (with Dallen in tow) and spraining my foot. Saturday we took Daddy to Home Depot to pick out his Fathers Day gift. On Saturday night Mark got to order a meat lovers "man pizza" and my sweet husband let us rent a chick flick. Sunday I made Mark some mango salsa crock pot pork burritos that turned out delicious if I do say so myself, watched manly war movies and Mark got to open his presents (thanks for the sandals mom&dad). All in all I would say it was a very sucessful first Fathers Day!! We love you Mark :)

"My Dad is Cooler than your Dad"
If you ask me, I would say I hit the motherload when it comes to Fathers. I am so blessed to have a wonderful Father-in-law, an amazing Father and a fantasic husband to be a Father to my son. This Father's Day is a special one in our house and we want all the Fathers out there to know we are celebrating you...

"Helping" with the chores
One of Dallen's favorite things to do is "help" mommy with her chores. By "help" I mean he un-does everything I do. Some of his favorite chores are "un"folding the laundry after I've folded it, he loves to move the mop across the floor and uses his wipes on the floor (but then puts them in his mouth, gross). In these pictures he was "doing the dishes" playing in the water soaking his bottles. He made a HUGE mess but it is so fun to watch this kid play in water. I should probably take him to the pool more often :)

How to survive a recession...
...pick up every last penny
While shopping at a little outdoor mall with the Brown's, we stumbled upon this little fountain to keep the kids entertained. Chloe was so funny putting pennies in and trying to get pennies out of the fountain. I gave her every last one in my wallet. She wouldn't throw them in, she carefully set each one in the fountain. She was ready to go face first to get the ones she couldn't reach or jump right in. It was adorable!!
Also, I got these sweet little photos...
How about new pictures instead...
I know its not the same as seeing this little man in the flesh and I am so sad that I am not gonna make it to CA for the week but nonetheless, here are some pictures of Dallen for all those who don't get to kiss his sweet cheeks each day!!

A year of many firsts...
The first year of Dallen's life has brought with it so many firsts and I am sure so many more to come. Last night Dallen gave us our first big scare. He hit his head, right in between the eyes, on the edge of one of his toy boxes. This kid hits his head ALL the time, but this time was pretty bad. He hit his head so hard it caused the inside of his nose to tear and he got his first bloody nose. We called the triage nurse who told us what to look for but for now he should be ok. This morning I took him to the doctor and he said he should be just fine with a little Tylenol for the headache/bruise and some Vaseline in his nose to prevent itchy scabbing. The doctor told me that Dallen has a serious case of Y chromosome. That's my boy, ALL BOY, all 20 pounds 12 ounces!!! He is a tough guy, just check him out:
You have to look pretty closely to see the bruise in this picture, it was still small and light in the early morning.
This one you can see that giant lump on his head a little better.Another first in this picture you can kind of see Dallen's first little tooth :)
On a happier note, another first...people comment on a lot of things about Dallen, how big he is, how brown his eyes are, what a happy baby he is, and so many more but mostly I hear, "He has so much hair"!! Well, Dallen got his first haircut thanks to cousin Whitney just before Matty's wedding. He was a pretty good sport. He never cried but he sure wiggled a lot. Here are some photos to document the big day:

What a day...
Today my little man is 8 months old. Technically these pictures were taken yesterday because he looked so awesome in his church clothes but he is still just as BIG!!! He was cracking everyone up at church cause he gets this big smile on his face and then shakes his head "NO" at you. Its pretty hilarious, a little irreverent but still funny :) As an eight month old, Dallen is everywhere!! He can crawl or climb or scoot wherever he wants to go. He talks all day long, sure its jiberish but he doesn't know better. He is eating lots of big boy foods and is wearing size 18 mos onesies. The one thing he doesn't do, that I think most 8 month old babies do, is sleeping through the night. Ever since we got back from our trip he is up at all hours of the night. I don't know if I should attribute it to the teething, but I hope he gets the hang of it soon!! Please, Dallen :)
On another note, today I lost my California resident status and officially switched over to Arizona. After one year in this state and after spending an entire day at the DMV, its official, I live in Arizona. BitterSweet.
