Announcing...

Brady Denver Palmer

This huge, adorable boy was born April 4th at 10:20 pm.
Weight: 9 pounds 1 oz
Height: 22 inches long.
And I thought Kase was a big baby at 8 lb 1 oz! I asked the Doctor if I should expect my next baby to weigh 10 pounds 1 oz and she said I should just make sure my next one is a girl and maybe she won't be as big! We'll see.
Grandma and Kase meet Brady for the for the first time!

Kase was so excited to meet is baby brother!

The labor and delivery went so smooth. I am so grateful with how it all went. My doctors and nurses were awesome. I'm sad that I won't have the same doctors looking out for me if  we have more babies in the future.

Brady or Kase?
Can you tell which one is Kase and which is Brady??? They look a lot a like I think. When they layed Brady on my stomach I thought he looked like Kase's twin.  Kase is top and Brady is bottom.
Grandma bought Kase new Sunday clothes for Easter. He was so excited to wear a tie to church, just like dad. He is growing up so fast!
my handsome boys!

Brady, 3 weeks old today!
So far Brady has been a real quiet and calm baby. He has brought such a good feeling into our home and we all love him so much.
Future best buds!
Kase loves to talk and watch over Brady. He has been such a good big brother so far. And Brady loves when Kase gives him attention, he gets so excited!

This doesn't happen very often but I love when it does!

Nerd Alert

This year for Halloween we dressed Kase up as a nerd. It was a pretty cheap costume but he pulled it off like a champ!

He wasn't super excited about it at first, especially because his mom and dad couldn't stop laughing at him. This is his "I'll make you pay for this one day!" look.

After a while though he got into the spirit of it all.

He still has a way with the ladies, even dressed like nerd!

I didn't get any pictures of him trunk or treating but he was so cute. He carried his pumpkin basket all by himself (with me following close behind) and went to each car and said trick or treat like he's been doing it his whole life.
He doesn't get very much candy with me not being able to eat sugar and his dad being a dentist so he had a death grip on his candy filled pumpkin basket.

The ewok and the nerd enjoying some candy.

Kase and the ASU nerd.
Watching Kase get excited and into the spirit of it all made Halloween so fun this year!

Let it Snow!

Today we woke up to snow! Our fire place is blazing and we have Christmas music playing! I love Colorado and am really going to miss it!

Kase is pretty excited about the snow! He keeps saying, "Look Mamma, Snow!"

Pumpkin Patch
A couple of weeks ago we got out of the house and did the anual visit to the pumpkin patch.

Kase and his g-friend Gray.

We need a slide and swing set in our backyard! Maybe one day Kase!

He's growing up fast! Someone the other day told me that you only get a short time to get  to know your children as children but you'll know them as adults forever. I had never thought of that before! It made me so sad and made me realize how important it is to keep some type of memory book of your children when they are little.
Kase Facts at age 2:
 Favorite things to do:
-play with his friends
-go to the park
-ride his tractor or trike
-mow the lawn with dad
-go bye bye
-read books with mama or dad

Favorite Shows:
-Caillou!!! (sometimes when you ask him what his name is, he says Caillou.)

Favorite Food:
Candy, sugar, juice, anything that's not good for you!
Apples
Pizza
Grilled cheese and tomato soup

He'll pretty much eat anything.

Funny/cute things he does:
- sometimes when I'm tucking him in at night he'll ask very seriously, "mama, can i have some candy?"
- he sleeps with one of his trucks at night instead of a blanky or stuffed animal
- When I give him a choice or ask a question he says "hmmm....let's see." (as he taps his chin)
-after anybody coughs or sneezes he says "You OK?"
-he always says, please, thank you and your welcome and will remind you if you forget to say it.
-when he wakes up in the morning he yells at the top of his lungs, "Mama, I'm ready get up!"
-he loves letters! He's known the alphabet for a while now and loves to find letters in the house, at the store, on his clothes. He'll  say look mama, "T-A-R-G-E-T!"  I can't get him to learn his numbers though, when he counts he says, 1,2...9! and he's done.
-He loves to wait for me to move from my place on the couch when we're watching TV and then he'll hurriedly sit where I was sitting. When I come back from whatever I had to do, he starts laughing and says, "My chair!" He loves to tease me!
- He says "comear mama" for come hear.
-When Mark leaves for school, he says, "Bye Bye Dad, have a good day, love you, mind your P's and Q's!

He's such a cute kid! Mark and I love watching him learn, grow, and waiting to see what he's going to come up with next.

And Finally...
Kase is going to be an older brother! I am almost 18 weeks now and we are so excited! Today is my last day with the heart monitor and I decided I better take a picture so that I can use it to say things like, "See, what I had to go through for you! "  J/k We're just grateful to have another baby on the way and pray that everything continues to go well with the pregnancy.

Branding

This summer Kase and I got to go to the ranch and help with the yearly branding. It was so fun watching Kase. He is fearless! He wanted to be right in the middle of everything helping. I am so excited and glad that he's going to have the opportunity to spend summers with his Grandpa on the ranch learning how to work.
This was Greysen's first year flanking (red shirt) and he did such a good job. It was so neat watching him throw calves down double his size and acting like it was no big deal.
Chilo! Its nice to know that some things never change. Chilo looks exactly the same as he did when I was 10. It was so nice having him there with us, it made things seem a little bit more like the good old days.
My partner, Charly Jae also known as minime!
handsome Derryl roping!
This picture is unique because if you look closely you can see my Dad on the ground holding a calf down. This doesn't happen very often. Usually he's the roper but we were so short handed this year that we all had to run and fill in as needed.
This is me holding Kase back. He kept trying to run out into the middle of the corral and help like everybody else. I told him maybe next year!
You can't go branding without getting absolutely filthy!
There's my cowboy! He was in Guatemala (saving the world) and made it back for the last two days of branding. Love him!

This is a few pictures of  Jenna, Greysen and me after we got back from an all day round up.

My arms were fried! I need to get  some long sleeved shirts or I'm getting cancer for sure.
Good times!

Cherokee Choctaw

Over the summer Mark went on an externship to the Cherokee Indian reservation in Cherokee, NC. Although it was a long 2 weeks with him gone, he had a great experience working in the clinic there and met alot of really great people.
Mark and Sandy... one of the dental assistants in the clinic that took care of him while he was there!
The Staff, the office was really nice and had 4 or 5 dentists that worked there who all helped teach and train mark!
David was a dental student from Creighton on an externship as well. For never having met before they had alot in common and spent the 2 weeks together working on patients and seeing the sites. Dave drove his car all the way from Omaha or else Mark would have been hitchhiking the whole trip. Thanks Dave!

THE SMOKIES
The area in North Carolina where Mark was is really pretty and there were tons of waterfalls and hikes all around the mountains that the Cherokee reservation is surrounded by. The area is about an hour from Asheville NC. They also did some hiking at the famous Chimney Rock which has some amazing views.
