~ ~ Our Family ~ ~

June went by so fast, and we have been so busy!! Once summer finally hit we have been outside all day everyday and visiting family and friends! First was Adilynn's birthday, and then we went down to Utah the next weekend for Mark's niece Braylen: baby blessing. We went to the Thanksgiving Point Farm with everyone and went on wagon rides. Aldon also actually rode a horse all by himself (which he would never do before until he saw his cousins which were younger than him doing ), so he gave it a shot and loved it! Then we also stayed with Mark's brother Mike and wife Kelsie and had so many fun times with them, they have a neighborhood swimming pool that we went swimming in practically every day we were there. The guys also went golfing twice, while Kelsie and I took the kids shopping with us to some cool Ironworks stores. We went out to eat and Pei Wei and Texas Roadhouse ~ so Yummy! The best BBQ ribs and Chkn I've ever tried, not to mention the scone rolls with honeybutter they give you when you sit down, did I mention they are endless, and ya we had at least 5 baskets full!! So there goes the idea of losing weight for swimsuit season! lol! Oh well, it was worth it. We also had a big Garage Sale this last weekend at our house and had 3 people contribute stuff and had a great turnout, always busy, & the weather was great, and made a nice 1300 off of all our old stuff, to put towards summer vacations and glass shower doors (we finally are getting around to finishing some of the things in our house) bye bye yucky shower curtain! So all in all it's been busy but it's been great!

1...loves all cereals, except plain Cheerios (which she throws on the floor).
2...likes to eat and eat and eat, she's earned the nickname "The Tank".
3...dances anytime she hears music (we call it the 'booty shake' since she only wiggles her bum).
4...walks around holding onto couches, fingers, chairs and just about anything.
5...likes to sleep in only her crib, with rain & ocean background sounds.
6...has very thin blondish brown hair with red highlights.
7...loves to take off her shoes and play with them or eat them.
8...says MaMa, DaDa, Dace Dace(Dance), Dump dump(Jump), DogDog, No no, Yesh, & Oh woah.
9...loves her older brother Aldon who's 4 and wants to do whatever he is doing.
10...will watch Baby Einstein (and that's about it) the whole way through.
11...likes to brush her teeth and mostly gnaw on the toothbrush afterwards.
12...smiles huge anytime she catches someone glancing her way & can make anyone smile!

She turned ONE on Sat the date was 6-7-08, which is neat cuz Aldon also was born on a cool date 2-3-04. So we skipped the 5 in there somewhere or else we could have a full rocket countdown to blast off, just from their dates!! She was loving playing the piano while we were waiting for our guests to arrive, My Piano Princess. Here's a bunch of pictures from the whole night. I had forgotten how entertaining it is to watch a 1 yr old dig into their first chocolate cake (since they can't have choc. till they are 1 yr) She was a perfect little timid girl at first, and then she dove right in once she actually tasted the frosting! This was my first attempt at doing a part Fondant Cake. It's a "present box" cake with pink/brown ribbons and polka dots, choc cake with cream cheese rasp filling. Mark didn't want me to do the whole thing in Fondant Frosting because, it isn't very good tasting, so he convinced me to use a Buttercream frosting for the base and then the ribbons are made out of the fondant. I've kinda taken up the hobby of creating fun cakes for special occasions for the family. I'll have to do a post of all the fun cakes I've done over the yrs for the kids' and Mark's birthdays.

Needless to say...the party hat came off pretty quick!
