Aldon is officially in Kindergarten now!
He had his first day of school today and was Soooo Excited! I just still can't believe that my little Aldon is already headed off to THE BIG KID SCHOOL! I'm excited for him though, because he is so excited. He loves school and loves to learn. For Journaling purposes: he knows the entire alphabet, the sounds of letters, rhyming words, he can count up to 1,000+ and can write all the letters and numbers, and he can READ! He can read all the short little 3-letter words and several Dr. Suess books. He really is advanced for a kindergartner, and we're so proud of him. He has two of his friends Jaden and Madelyn in his class and they all saved seats for each other around the tables today. He also got to see his buds Braeden and Brenley in the class next door. It's so great that he has lots of friends to see at school! He is excited to ride the big yellow bus as well, but I'll drive him for the first week so he can learn where his class is and then next week he said he'll try the bus!

Ready to go to school!
Well, picking him up from school was a little adventurous....
I got there when the dismissal bell rang and walked up the playground to his class and when I got to his door, he wasn't there. His teacher said she thought he went with the group of kids out the other door to the school bus stop! So I go rushing out the other door with Adi in-tow, moving her little feet as fast as they will take her, then picking her up (which is a little funny looking with her on my hip, since her front leg rests up on my big ol prego belly) and so we rush down the other hallway and out the side doors, across the lawn, all-the-while panning the massive crowds of parents and kids scattered about. I spot the bus lines and then pass friends of mine (moms of kindergartners as well) first smiling and talking about the kids' 1st day and then start asking "Oh you are picking him up? We saw him go that way - pointing in the direction of the bus lines, (obviously noticing my hurried pace, and look of exasperation, out of breath with Adi bouncing on my hip!)
So luckily as I reach the bus lines, I hear "that's her, that's my mom" and see Aldon dragging a lady towards me! The lady was the bus patrol lady that was in charge of taking kindergartners to the bus lines. Aldon had a sticker of the bus he was going to ride on his shirt and come to find out - it would've been the wrong bus! Whew! So luckily I was there before the bus was, otherwise I would be chasing him all over town and the bus station to pick up a scared little boy! Aldon said he had forgotten that I was picking him up and decided to follow the group of kids going out to the bus stop. Anywho- it all ended safe and well, and it didn't become a huge mess. He wasn't even a little scared he said, standing in the bus line, but glad that I was there to get him!
The after school shot - still smiling!
Thank goodness!
